Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Bibi Dong’s Despair
Chapter 4: Bibi Dong's Despair
"What? You're my second martial spirit?"
Although Su Mo had suspected it, he still put on a shocked expression in front of Bibi Dong.
It wasn't entirely an act—Su Mo was genuinely surprised. He never expected Bibi Dong to be his second martial spirit.
Logically, this shouldn't be possible. At this point in time, Bibi Dong should have been ruling as the Pope of the Spirit Hall.
As Su Mo stared at Bibi Dong in shock, he took the opportunity to carefully observe the stunning beauty before him.
"That's right, I am your second martial spirit, the Rakshasa God!"
Bibi Dong nodded, revealing her identity as the Rakshasa God.
This was indeed the truth. In her current form, she was essentially the Rakshasa God martial spirit, much like how the High Priest of Sea God Island, Bo Saixi, had the Sea God as her martial spirit.
However, there were still differences between her and Bo Saixi's Sea God martial spirit.
"Rakshasa God? What level of martial spirit is that?"
Su Mo asked, eyes wide in feigned innocence.
"What level?"
Bibi Dong's tone was laced with disdain as she proudly replied,
"The Rakshasa God is not something that can be compared to ordinary martial spirits. Even the top-tier martial spirits pale in comparison. This is a god-level martial spirit!"
"A god-level martial spirit? How is that possible…"
"I… I actually have a god-level martial spirit?"
Su Mo continued to widen his eyes, his face full of disbelief, as if he couldn't comprehend that he possessed such a powerful martial spirit.
"Little one, just because you have the Rakshasa God martial spirit doesn't mean you can awaken it. If you can't awaken it, then it's as if you don't have it at all!"
"To wield the Rakshasa God martial spirit, you must first help me awaken it!"
Seeing Su Mo's excitement and disbelief, Bibi Dong smiled lightly and then revealed the harsh reality.
She wanted Su Mo to first understand the power of the Rakshasa God martial spirit and then tell him that such a powerful martial spirit had yet to awaken and would require his help to do so.
"Then… how can I awaken you?"
Su Mo immediately asked with urgency.
"How can you awaken me?"
Bibi Dong paused slightly, her expression turning somber.
"…As long as you become powerful enough, you'll be able to awaken me."
"Alright, just know that you have an extremely powerful Rakshasa God martial spirit and focus on cultivating and becoming stronger."
"Once you're strong enough, you'll naturally be able to help me awaken!"
"And one more thing—don't come here unless necessary, and don't tell anyone about the Rakshasa God martial spirit!"
"Little one, work hard. I'll be waiting for you to grow strong!"
After finishing her words, Bibi Dong waved her hand, and Su Mo's figure instantly disappeared from the Rakshasa Domain.
However, after sending Su Mo away, Bibi Dong's expression grew even more grim.
"Damn it, how could this happen…"
Bibi Dong gritted her teeth in frustration, clearly feeling helpless and resentful.
She had just realized that in order for Su Mo to help her awaken, his spirit power level would need to reach at least 70, making him a Spirit Sage.
But with Su Mo's innate spirit power of only Level 2, it was almost impossible for him to ever reach that level.
This left Bibi Dong feeling utterly despairing. Was she destined to remain as the martial spirit of a mere child forever?
And not even an awakened martial spirit at that.
That meant she would be trapped in this child's martial spirit space indefinitely!
"Damn it…"
Realizing this, Bibi Dong felt a wave of madness wash over her.
If this was her fate, she would rather not have been resurrected at all.
"Damn, I forgot to ask what year it is in the Douluo Calendar…"
Another wave of frustration hit Bibi Dong as she recalled something.
She had intended to ask Su Mo about the current year to see if her suspicions were correct—that she hadn't been reborn after her death, but possibly at some point in the past.
But in her extreme frustration over the thought that Su Mo might never be able to awaken her, she had completely forgotten to ask.
...
"Seriously? She just kicked me out like that!"
Su Mo was frustrated, just as Bibi Dong's foul mood had left him feeling unsettled. He couldn't understand why, out of nowhere, Bibi Dong suddenly pushed him out.
He hadn't even fully grasped the situation yet!
As for Bibi Dong's words, Su Mo wasn't about to take them at face value.
While watching the anime, Su Mo had really liked Bibi Dong as a character; she was, in fact, his favorite female character. But he also knew that Bibi Dong was a major antagonist.
Trusting a woman like her could lead to a very bad outcome.
In the anime, it was easy to let your morals be swayed by appearances, but that approach wouldn't work in real life.
So, even now, Su Mo wasn't entirely sure if Bibi Dong was actually his second martial spirit.
If she was, having such a powerful martial spirit would definitely be something to celebrate.
But if she wasn't…
"If she wasn't, there's no way she'd be lingering in my body—she would've killed me already!"
"With Bibi Dong's strength, I wouldn't stand a chance against her!"
"If she hasn't killed me, it means she either can't or won't kill me!"
"The feeling I had when I awakened my martial spirit wasn't wrong. I do have a second martial spirit, and it's very likely Bibi Dong!"
"At least in this, she probably wasn't lying!"
As he thought it over, Su Mo realized he might have been overthinking things.
But dealing with a woman like Bibi Dong, he couldn't afford to be careless.
"If only I could figure out why she became my martial spirit!"
Su Mo sighed inwardly.
All of these thoughts were kept to himself.
Earlier, when he was inside his inner world, Su Mo had tested it out—Bibi Dong couldn't hear his inner thoughts, nor could she sense them.
She could only receive the information he conveyed when he spoke aloud.
This was a relief to Su Mo because if it weren't the case, he wouldn't have been able to hide anything from her.
Once he calmed down, Su Mo replayed everything that had just happened in his mind.
The first thing he could be sure of was that Bibi Dong, for the time being, didn't pose a direct threat to him.
It seemed like she needed him to help her awaken.
He just couldn't figure out why she suddenly kicked him out, and the way she spoke at the end felt somewhat dismissive.
Almost as if she didn't think he was capable of doing what she needed!
"Could that be it?"
"Did Bibi Dong suddenly realize that with my current talent, I might not be able to help her awaken, so she didn't want to say more and just kicked me out?"
Based on her tone and expression at the time, Su Mo thought this was a likely possibility.
"Whatever the case, Bibi Dong is definitely inside me now!"
"If it's a blessing, it's not a curse; if it's a curse, you can't avoid it!"
"I've already gained a lot by being reborn, so there's nothing to be afraid of. I'll just interact with her as if I don't know her true identity!"
Having calmed down, Su Mo decided not to overthink it. He'd take things as they came and not dwell on all the potential complications.
