Supreme Emperor of One Piece

Chapter 23: Chapter 23: I Hope We Never Become Enemies!

"But if I refuse, I'll seem untrustworthy. How could Garp break his word? I'd never live it down!"

"Agreeing or not seems like a tricky choice. This kid really knows how to put me on the spot," Garp thought to himself, admiring the cleverness of the young man before him.

"Fine. What's the harm in teaching you a single technique? If you choose the path of a pirate one day, I'll personally hunt you down!"

With that, Garp's thoughts cleared, and the weight of the dilemma lifted from his shoulders.

"Alright, I agree!"

With a hearty laugh, Garp accepted Shirayama's request.

"Oh? Aren't you afraid I'll use the Shave technique to become a pirate?" Shirayamar teased, clearly surprised but grinning mischievously.

"I'm confident I could make it big as a Super Rookie, you know."

"Not afraid at all," Garp replied, arms crossed with a smug smile. "If you choose the pirate's path, I'll personally come after you. Even in my old age, I think I can handle catching a brat like you."

"Fair enough," Shirayama said, nodding thoughtfully. "You've earned my respect. Based on your words, I promise I won't become a pirate unless it's absolutely necessary."

"But," he added with a wry grin, "if circumstances leave me no choice, then I'll have to set sail as one."

Shirayama's candid response reassured Garp somewhat, though the seasoned Vice Admiral remained watchful.

"That's all I needed to hear," Garp said. "I'll have the Shave training instructions delivered to you in a few days. Train hard, and don't let me down. I'd rather never have to face you in battle, you hear me?"

Looking down at Shirayama with a rare seriousness, Garp's words carried a heavy weight.

"Understood," Shirayama replied, chuckling nervously. "I wouldn't want to fight you either. You'd probably break every bone in my body!"

Truth be told, among all the powerful figures in the world of pirates, Shirayama least wanted to cross swords with legends like Garp. Whether it was Sengoku, Garp, or Whitebeard, their might was beyond comprehension.

Facing such titans required not only strength but nerves of steel. Their attacks were devastatingly direct, capable of shattering bodies and spirits alike.

Even someone as formidable as Marco had been floored by a single punch from Garp, forced to retreat with nothing but frustration and caution written all over his face.

"Alright then. Thank you for your generosity, Vice Admiral Garp. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave and tend to my injuries."

With their deal concluded, Shirayamar decided it was time to end their conversation. He could tell Garp felt the same.

"Go on," Garp said with a nod before leaping into the air, effortlessly stepping onto the Navy warship using Moonwalk.

"Amazing!"

The townsfolk were awestruck by Garp's aerial maneuver, marveling at his godlike abilities. They were so entranced they didn't even notice Shirayamar slipping away.

It wasn't until Garp had gone that the villagers realized Shirayamar had vanished as well.

Three Days Later

A sharply dressed Navy officer under Garp's command arrived, delivering a scroll containing the Shave training instructions. Without a word, he handed it to Shirayamar and departed.

During those three days,Shirayamar had been focused on a single task: building a house for himself and Aki.

The result was a spacious home with three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom—everything they could need.

In his time getting to know Aki, Shirayamar discovered that she was an orphan. Before his arrival, she had survived by collecting shells on the island and relying on the kindness of neighbors for food. It had been a difficult existence, but she had endured.
