Chapter 29: Chapter 29: How Could Such a Crew Appear in the East Blue?
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Another barrage of cannon fire filled the sky, the explosive projectiles raining down relentlessly on the advancing pirates.
"Whirlwind!"
Loki swung his heavy sword with all his might, summoning a fierce gust of wind that deflected the cannonballs mid-flight.
"Right Angle Flash: Pen Strike!"
T-Bone finally made his move, unleashing a powerful, razor-sharp slash aimed directly at Chris. The strike carried a force that dwarfed Loki's whirlwind.
"Fengji, you're up!"
Chris, unfazed, turned to the stout man behind him.
"Heh, got it, Captain!"
The burly man grinned widely, his body suddenly swelling like an inflated balloon. As fins sprouted from his back, it became clear—Fengji was a fish-man.
This revelation explained Chris's confidence in crossing the sea despite the constant bombardment. Fengji dove into the water, lifting the small boat carrying the crew onto his back.
But the incoming barrage of cannonballs and T-Bone's slash left them little room to maneuver. The group faced an impossible choice: scatter and risk sinking into the sea or confront the attack head-on.
"Heh, slashes? Those don't scare me in the least!"
Chris shot a reassuring glance at his crew before stepping forward. With an explosive leap, he intercepted the oncoming projectiles.
Rapidly swinging both fists, he unleashed a series of powerful air blasts. Each strike detonated the cannonballs and neutralized the slash mid-air, creating a violent shockwave that rippled across the sea.
"Onward!"
Landing back on Fengji's back, Chris roared with laughter as the crew surged closer to the island.
"A fish-man?! Impossible!"
The sight of Fengji in action left T-Bone in utter disbelief. The presence of a fish-man in the East Blue—a rarity even in the Grand Line—sent a chill down his spine.
"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Another round of cannon fire thundered across the sky. This time, however, Fengji deftly maneuvered through the barrage, evading every projectile with ease. The soldiers on the island were stunned, their morale visibly shaken.
"Lion King Barrage!"
Seizing the moment, Chris unleashed a flurry of air blasts from his fists, raining destruction onto the Marine formation. Soldiers screamed as the impact sent a row of cannons and troops crashing to the ground.
Meanwhile, Fengji accelerated, halving the remaining distance to the shore in just two seconds.
"Not good!"
T-Bone's face twisted in alarm as a sense of overwhelming danger engulfed him. A storm of compressed air surged toward him, leaving no time to issue new orders.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Even T-Bone, with his formidable strength, couldn't withstand the onslaught. The force sent him hurtling back more than twenty meters.
At the harbor—
Catwoman Duveil leapt ashore, using Loki's heavy sword as a springboard to propel herself like a dart.
"Shing!"
Upon landing, Duveil immediately dashed into the Marine formation, slicing through soldiers with terrifying speed. Chaos erupted as the troops struggled to react, their ranks decimated in moments.
"Bang!"
Heavy Swordsman Loki landed next.
"Thud!"
Chris, with Fengji's help, was the third to step onto the island.
One by one, the entire crew disembarked.
Chris wasted no time, signaling the fleet still a kilometer away. The pirates aboard the ships cheered as they surged toward the harbor at full speed.
"Haha! Come on, boys! Let's enjoy the thrill of slaughter!"
Chris laughed maniacally before charging toward T-Bone.
The remaining crew members spread out across the battlefield, leaving the Marines no chance to regroup or retaliate.
And as the chaos unfolded, one question lingered:
Where was Shirayama, the Marine officer whose Den Den Mushi remained unanswered?
