Chapter 156
Burning Hell’s Dungeons (1)
The Kingdom of Adrian.
A bright light exploded from a teleporter built into the Royal Palace. As the light faded, a group of people were revealed.
One of them was Rebecca, her red hair bouncing.
The delegation that had traveled to the Holy Empire, including the new king of the Adrian Kingdom, had returned to their territory.
“Welcome back, Your Majesty.”
The Knight Commander bowed low to greet her, and Rebecca gave a small nod before issuing her orders.
“Immediately contact the Dukes and guardian families and tell them to come into the Royal Palace.”
“Understood.”
“And I want you to come as well, Knight Commander.”
“Yes.”
Rebecca strode up to her room. Stripping out of the clothes she had worn on the diplomatic delegation, in favor of more comfortable clothes.
She sat on her bed for a long time as she processed the details of the recent meeting in the Holy Empire.
-I can read the memories of those I’ve killed.
The meeting started with a shocking statement from Redin.
-I’ll be sharing everything I’ve just learned from the memories of the Apostle. First of all, there are 12 Apostles in total.
The revelation that there were eleven more apostles, when dealing with just one was already overwhelming, was quite shocking.
-And each Apostle has created a Gate to the Demon Realm in various locations across the continent. The apostle who died today created a Gate to the Demon Realm in the underground of Burning Hell.”
Demon Realm.
A place where, long ago, Veronica, the Goddess of Creation, defeated the Demon God and imprisoned his followers and all the other demons.
When that Gate is opened.
It meant the demons within would burst out into the world.
He doesn’t know how strong they are. The archbishop, who is familiar with history, said this.
‘There are probably hundreds or thousands of demons in there who are at least Master level.’
Even that is a story from the past.
If the demons in the Demon Realm were sharpening their claws for revenge, there could be many more skilled individuals, perhaps even some beyond the Master level.
“…..”
The world would fall into the hands of the Demons if they didn’t locate the Demon Gate. No matter the cost, they must find it and destroy it.
*Knock* *Knock*
“Your Majesty, everyone has arrived.”
Rebecca stood up from her seat and, with the help of her maid, donned her cloak and crown.
She opened the door, stepping out and followed by the Knight Commander into the Throne Room.
Through the wide open doors, she spotted the two Dukes and the Counts, the guardian families, as she walked along the red carpet.
At the end of it, she sat down on the throne.
“There was a major incident in the Holy Empire recently. The individual who held the position of Pope turned out to be associated with the Demon Church, and he attempted to kill the Saintess.”
At Rebecca’s words, all the nobles showed expressions of surprise. Even the dukes, who usually maintained their composure, were speechless.
“Fortunately, we managed to save the Saintess and kill the Apostle of Demon Church, but we have a bigger problem.”
Rebecca went on to explain about the Demon Gates.
Once again, the nobles couldn’t contain themselves. In fact, their complexions turned pale and they began to gulp nervously.
“Accordingly, we will organize a punitive force¹ with the other kingdoms to kill the Apostles and destroy the Gate to the Demon Realm.”
“Understood.”
“First.”
Rebecca’s eyes narrowed.
“Start by combing through our kingdom.”

The Kingdom of Ravino.
A villa belonging to the royal family.
The place smelled rotten from the passage of time.
Fabian walked past the bodies of the dead. He recognized the faces of the maids and knights he had seen in the palace.
They had died with their eyes open.
As he closed their eyes, Fabian circled the lakeshore, searching for signs of those who had attacked the place.
Their gait, the size of their feet.
The cut of their clothing, and their weapons.
As he pieced together the fragmented traces, Fabian heard a call from the villa.
“Fabian!”
He turned at the sound of Vivian’s voice and approached the villa. Outside, a chair was set up in an open area.
Beside it lay the king’s maid, and on the floor were broken dishes and food.
“This.”
At the spot Vivian pointed to, there was a small medal. Fabian picked up the medal he had made for his father when he was young.
It was smeared with red blood.
He glanced around and saw that there were traces of someone being dragged.
“He was taken from here.”
“I think so.”
He knew who were behind the attack.
Demon Church.
It was clear that they had dragged his father away to get the flesh of the Demon God within the Kingdom of Ravino.
“Oh, and there’s one body that looks like an enemy, so I’ve brought it along.”
*Clench*
Clutching the medallion tightly, Fabian stood up. He and Vivian walked over to where the body was located.
A body whose face was smashed and unrecognizable.
Reaching over it, Fabian used his blood magic.
The blood that flowed from his hand covered the corpse. The dead body lurched upright with a grunt.
At the same time, the disfigured face returned to its normal state, and the vampiric being bent down toward Fabian.
“I greet the Lord.”
“Tell me everything you seen and heard.”
The vampiric subject was not a cultist.
He was a knight of the Duke of Rupen, sent to guide the Demon Church to this place.
“They took His Majesty the King away, and since I became useless, they killed me.”
“On whose orders did they send you?”
“It was the Queen Mother’s orders.”
Aris de Rupen.
The younger sister of the Duke of Rupen, and the mistress who was taken into the royal family when her mother failed to bear children.
And the mother of the King’s first son, Sepetto.
“…..”
Fabian’s fists were shaking.
In time, Crown Prince Sepetto would inherit the throne, and then the Rupens would have everything.
But why.
Had they joined hands with the Demon Church and handed over his father? Were they so impatient that they couldn’t wait a moment? Were they so greedy for power?
Something stirred deep in his heart.
“Vivian.”
“Yes.”
“You can go back and take care of Blood. I’ll take care of my father’s affairs and return.”
“Fabian…”
At Vivian’s call, Fabian shook his head resolutely. His eyes burned with raw fury. Seeing it, Vivian sighed before nodding.
“Okay.”
“See you later.”
Fabian immediately activated his Blood Art.
His body turned to blood and he flew through the air as a swarm of blood bats. They swiftly flew to the palace of the Ravino Kingdom, arriving there in an instant.
Once back to his normal state, Fabian walked to the king’s throne room.
“Who are you!”
“Intruders!”
He waved his hand towards the knights he encountered in the hallway. A hammer made of blood magic struck down the two knights.
*Smash!*
The wall next to them collapsed and the knights fell out.
When he reached the throne room leaving behind those who had fallen, he heard a man’s chuckling voice from inside.
“…Sepetto.”
Fabian kicked the door open with his foot.
*Bam!*
The door flew open and there was Sepetto with a woman in his arms. A crown in his hand and bottles of alcohol on the floor.
“What the…….”
Stalking towards Sepetto whose tongue was lolling, he grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up.
“Keugh……!”
“Where’s my father?”
“This…let go of me!”
*Snap*
He snapped his neck right away.
“Aaaaahhhh!”
“Shut up.”
Fabian gritted his teeth and glared at the woman, who swallowed and covered her own mouth.
Shifting his attention back to the dead Sepetto, Fabian turned him into a subject.
“Speak. Where’s father?”
“He’s Dead….”
“Dead?”
“In order to open the sealed altar the Demon Church……”
*POP*
Instantly, he blew off Sepetto’s head.
“Stop!”
“Hands up!”
Several knights came to the doorway, swords drawn. Fabian glared at them.
“And yet you call yourselves the swords that defend the kingdom.”
“What nonsense…”
“Die.”
Enraged, Fabian drew upon his blood magic to its limit, killing all the knights in front of him, then turning them into his servants.
The vampire knights eyes glowed red.
Fabian commanded them.
“From this moment on, slay all who carry the name Rupen.”

He can see Burning Hell in the distance.
*Pooh-Pooh*
At the sound of the ship’s bellows announcing their arrival, he rose from his seat and prepared to disembark.
“Redin.”
As he turned his head, he saw Daylon approaching.
“Yes? Captain.”
“Are you sure you’ll be okay on your own?”
The meeting that took place on the way over.
It was decided that Cerberus would travel around the continent looking for the Demon Gate, and Redin would be in charge of the one in Burning Hell.
“Yes. I can do it.”
“Of course you can. If you can’t do it, no one else will. When I go to Cerberus’ stronghold island, I’ll send Seria right away.”
Time to fulfill his promise to Seria to let her meet her father.
“Thank you.”
“I’ll see you later, then.”
After disembarking from the ship, Daylon immediately boarded a small boat and set off again. Watching his retreating figure, he then moved with Warden Rukel towards Burning Hell.
As they walked in silence, Rukel spoke up.
“Do you remember that special organization you mentioned the other time?”
“Yes.”
“When I heard about it, I had my doubts about your ability to control the criminals.”
He could understand that.
He was thinking of organizing a squad of powerful criminals from the eight floors below, not a bunch of lowlifes on the third and fourth floors.
“But after what happened yesterday, I’ve changed my mind. I’ll allow you to form the special organization you were proposing.”
“Thank you.”
“I’ll delegate full authority to you on the matter, so make sure you organize it well on your next trip down to the Underground Dungeon.”
“Okay.”
They crossed the massive bridge and arrived at the Burning Hell building. Rukel headed for his office to catch up on backlogs and future work.
He traveled down to the underground first floor.
The real work would begin once Seria arrived, but first he needed to see the current situation.
*Thump*
*Thump*
Upon arriving at the courthouse located between the underground second and first level, He saw the door that has the symbol of Cerberus.
A passageway down to the second underground level, the entrance to the Infinite Labyrinth.²
“What brings you here?”
“I have business in the underground prison.”
Showing the special pass received from Rukel, the guard standing in front of the door stepped aside and handed over a compass.
“To avoid getting lost in the Labyrinth, you must have this with you at all times.”
*Creeaaaaakk!*
With Cerberus’ mouth opening, the door swung open. Beyond the threshold was a spiraling portal.
He stepped through it.
Accompanied by a sensation of body distortion similar to teleportation, there was a feeling of dizziness.
When he regained his bearings.
A world of gray light had appeared.
Ahead of him was a maze of gray walls, and as he reached for the compass in his hand, the needle moved.
Following that, Redin proceeded forward.
Taking the path indicated by the compass, he encountered no obstacles along the way. He arrived at another passage that seemed to lead further.
There were bloodstains on the floor.
Traces of someone being dragged and pulled into the underground prison on the other side of the passage.
He pushed the door in front of him wide open.
The spiral portal that was supposed to be there was nowhere to be seen.
“Have they already started the operation…..”
