Chapter 78 - Special Training (1)
Chapter 78
Special Training (1)
A high-speed boat cuts through the waves.
In the distance, their destination came into view.
A half-moon-shaped island with a dense forest beyond the sandy beach. It will be home to a new special education center.
*Tudududud!*
The speedboat’s engine came to a halt and the vessel settled on the sea. Throwing mana-controlled handcuffs at the dazed recruits.
“All of you, take one of these.”
“You have to tell us what this is……”
“It’s an order, then get off.”
Adela was the first to put on the restraints among the hesitant group, a sight to be beholden to, as he watched curiously.
An exceptional case, among the few assembled here.
She’s the next head of the Moon Palace, so her position and future are secure, and she’s one of the top three in terms of skill.
The one with the least amount of regrets is the most driven.
“Adela.”
“Yes.”
“Why are you here?”
“I joined because someone told me that if I came here, I could break my limits.”
He was wondering how Daylon had lured her in.
‘Heh’
But it wasn’t wrong.
If she survived this place and the war was over, she’d be a completely different person than she was right now.
“Are you all wearing handcuffs?”
Looking around, he sees that some of the others are not yet wearing the restraints. He walks over to them and forcefully snaps the handcuffs on.
Fabian was the last one to resist.
Approaching him, he bent low and whispered quietly.
“Put the cuffs on.”
“When …… this is over, you’re as good as dead, bastard, so you might as well start treating me like a prince now.”
“Oh, so that’s what King Rabino has told you, I’m dead after this?”
“Hehehe. Idiot, are you starting to get it now?”
“No?”
He grinned at Fabian and bound him in handcuffs, then shoved his feet into his chest, knocking him into the sea.
“All of you jump into the sea, do it.”
And with that order, he threw anyone who was even slightly hesitant into the sea.
After every new recruit was in the open sea.
The speedboat revved to life. Standing at the end of the boat, he looked at the recruits and put the loudspeaker to his mouth.
“Your first task is to swim to the island that you can all see. Shouldn’t be too hard, right?”
As expected, Adela was the first to respond, which prompted the rest of the group to start swimming.
“Oh, and the last person to come in will get 10 demerit points. If someone accumulates 50 points, that person will be sent home.”
Penalties for last place.
The moment the words sunk in, the newcomers’ eyes changed. They immediately started to swim more aggressively and picked up the pace.
With a satisfied smile on his face, he rode the speedboat to the island.
As soon as he reached the sandy shore and stepped onto the island, Daylon, who had arrived first, yawned and approached him.
“Is everyone here?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re earlier than I thought, I thought it would take you a while to push the kids’ weight.”
“It was quick because there’s a little guy who’s a rascal.”
“Fabian?”
“It was a guy with silver hair.”
“Silver-haired? Hmmm. Don’t you know his name? Didn’t I give you all their personal details?”
“I didn’t look at it on purpose. I thought it might prejudice my judgment.”
Daylon nodded.
“That’s not a bad thing. So what’s your impression of them?”
“I think it’s going to be fun.”

Fabian gritted his teeth while he swam.
Because of his experience swimming and playing with women in the grand royal bath house, he was more confident than most.
However,
That was a mistake.
The waves pushed against his body, and his legs cramped and stiffened as he forced himself to continue swimming.
If only he could use mana, he could free himself, but the mana-blocking handcuffs made that impossible.
“Help me…… Haaa! Sa…… Save me!”
The seawater rushed into his nose and mouth.
For a brief moment, his body sank beneath the sea with a salty taste.
‘Help!’
“Fabian is drowning in the sea…”
“Heather, save that guy….”
His ears grew deafening and his vision was blurry.
Seawater poured into his open mouth as he tried to breathe, and his arms grew heavier and heavier as he flailed.
As if someone was pulling him down from the bottom of the ocean.
His mind became disoriented as he was sucked beneath the waves.
‘He… lp…’
He gasps for air, choking, and can feel something in his head disconnect. Air rushes into his mouth as his body feels like it’s floating.
“Cough! Uuuurrrfff!”
Fabian gagged, alternating between coughing and retching.
He couldn’t tell how long it lasted.
As his breathing returned to normal, so did his previously numb senses.
A salty taste in his mouth.
“Kaaak Ptui!”
He spat, pushing his aching body to the ground. As his blurred vision returned, he took in his surroundings.
On a sandy beach.
There were several people receiving treatment. Some were lying on the ground, while others on their feet, with eyes glazed over.
‘How much time has passed?’
Turning his head, he saw the man who had done this to him.
Redin.
At the sight of him, heat surged through his body. If only he hadn’t been thrown into the sea, this would never have happened.
Fabian shifted his stance.
“You fucking bastard, because of…. you…..”
“Ten demerit points.”
Redin brushed past him, the corners of his mouth twitching upward in a sneer. Fabian turned his head to look at Redin’s back.
‘That fucking…… piece of shit…..’
*Crunch!*
He gnashed his teeth and clenched his fists. This humiliation and shame was too much to bear. He wanted to smack him and leave right now.
-You must endure, Prince.
-This is a project that all the kingdoms are focused on, and if you can get your name out there with this project…….
-Then you, Third Prince, can become the rightful successor to the Kingdom of Ravino that you have longed for.
He swallowed his anger as he remembered his uncle’s words.
As annoying as Redin was right now, to the point where he wanted to kill him right now, there was someone even more infuriating than him.
The first son of King Ravino.
Heir to the current kingdom of Ravino.
He remembered the face of his half-brother, who had been violent on a daily basis since childhood, and who had pretended to be nice on the outside.
‘You damned bastard…..’
Fabian swallowed his anger.
The only way to oust him, and show the world his true colors, was to survive here.
“Mealtime is in thirty minutes. We’ll be training right after that, so be sure to fill yourself up.”
Fabian smiled as he listened to Redin deliver the message.
‘I’ll deal with you as well, so be sure to do a good job keeping that neck of yours.’
He started walking slowly, heading for the dining area. He’d need a full stomach to endure this ordeal.
“Hold on.”
Redin stopped Fabian in his path.
Fabian turned to look at Redin, his brow furrowed.
“I thought it was mealtime.”
“Last place doesn’t deserve to eat, so you’ll starve until the next drill.”
“What? Where is such a thing!”
“Here.”
Fabian shuddered at Redin’s wicked grin.
“Fuck…”
“Well, there’s one thing you can do, and that is bark and wag your tail like a dog. Then I’ll be happy to feed you a big meal.”
Fabian whirled around, stifling his ever-bubbling anger. It was better to starve than to bark for him.
‘I swear I’ll pay you back for this disgrace one day.’

He checked on the new recruits after they were finished eating.
Even though they were soaked in seawater and had their souls tormented with an awakening, perhaps because they were seasoned warriors, their eyes still glimmered with vitality.
He was not sure how long that would last.
“Redin.”
Turning around, he saw Heather approaching.
Heather, Seria, and Rebecca.
The ones who were being trained first were helping the instructors with the training of this new recruits.
“Take this.”
Heather handed him a pair of earrings in the shape of the Cerberus.
Recently, he’d started learning magic in earnest, and he’d taken an interest in creating artifacts.
This seemed to be one of his latest projects.
“What is this?”
“It’s a small communication artifact I’ve been working on. If you wear it, we can communicate with each other.”
‘Does it work as a walkie-talkie?’
After putting the earrings in his ears the way Heather had explained, and channeling a bit of mana into them, he heard Daylon’s voice.
-Ah. Does anyone hear me?
“I can hear you.”
-Okay, Riena?
-I can hear you just fine.
It’ll make their missions a lot easier if they have this means of communication.
Turning to Heather, he gave him a thumbs-up.
“This is awesome.”
“Really?”
“This is so convenient.”
“I’m working on some other stuff, so look forward to it.”
Heather rambled on excitedly, then headed off to the next training session.
He made his way over to the training area to get ready.
He met up with Daylon and Riena, who were huddled off to one side talking, and together they made their way into the woods on Half Moon Island.
“Where’s the medical chief?”
“”She’s here with someone dispatched from the special transport earlier.”
“Oh, good. Did you get the kids’ handcuffs off?”
“Uh-huh.”
“I guess we can play it rough.”
Daylon loosened his shoulders and grinned at him.
“You’re good at this, aren’t you?”
“Yep.”
“Well, he caught Terry, too, so don’t push them too hard.”
“I’ll be gentle.”
Riena shook her head.
“You better be nice. It’s obvious you’re excited at the thought of tormenting kids after a long time.”
“Torment? I’m just training them to take down Caius.”
“You don’t say, wipe that smirk off your face though.”
They continued their small talk.
There were three separate paths, and we each took one. Daylon on the far left, Riena on the right, and him in the center.
Walking down the path, he came across a large open field. He went to the center and stood facing the way he had come.
-You guys ready?
Just then, Harris called out.
“I’m ready.”
-Yes.
-Me too.
-Then I’ll send them out.
From now on, the new recruits will work in groups of three and head to the three forks in the road.
A target will be there.
Him, Daylon, and Riena.
The recruits will work together to defeat their target and reach the villa beyond.
A rest for those who made it through.
If not, they must attempt again.
Since only those who take down the targets get to rest in the villa, everyone is going to rush in with all their hearts.
Of course, there’s a chance some of them won’t.
Those gathered here are basically people who have the desire to become stronger. Also, they are all of similar skill levels.
People who are going to be fellow colleagues and good-natured competitors.
If someone next to them has accomplished a certain task, they’re going to push themselves harder, even if it’s just because they don’t want to lose.
“Here they come.”
He heard three sets of footsteps.
Without hiding his presence, he drew his sword as they strode toward him.
*Rustle!*
Poised, he waited for them to appear. It wasn’t long before he saw them. They were familiar faces.
The silver-haired man, Fabian, and Adela.
Not sure how they managed to get together, but it doesn’t really matter who shows up. Because he only has one task to fulfill.
To defeat whoever comes here.
Raising his mana.
“I’m glad I found you, bastard!”
“C’mon!”
The silver-haired man and Fabian rushed forward, weapons drawn. Adela, on the other hand, paused to take in the situation.
‘Heh’
Utilizing his mana, he performed a gale slash.
Moving with great speed, he slashed at the arm of the silver-haired man in front of him.
*Swish!*
Blood splashed as the arm shot up into the air. The silver-haired man’s pupils bulged open in response. A scream rang out from him.
“Arrrggghhhh!”
“This is insane….!”
Fabian rushed forward, drawing up his mana, followed by Adela, who stiffened and drew her sword.
He smiled at the two of them as they released their energy.
The more sincere their attempts to defeat him.
It’s a great training effect for him. Not only can he deal with a wide variety of sword techniques, but he also possesses the title of [God of War].
[Title – God of War]
[The more opponents you defeat, the higher your overall ability, and the shorter the time it takes to gain enlightenment].
Furthermore.
As long as they didn’t take a fatal injury, they could all be cured by the medical director, and there were special transport units dispatched, so there were no restrictions on travel.
It’s a golden opportunity to grow by leaps and bounds before facing Caius.
“Come at me.”
