Survive as a Prison Guard in the Game

Chapter 87 - Spy (2)

Chapter 87
Spy (2)

Vivian Annette.

A named NPC who was active in the Oberg Empire, resurrected by the Darkness Seven. The moment he heard her name, all the pieces of the puzzle came together.

-After being chosen as the Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Ravino, I was forced to part with the love of my life.

-But you know what’s funny? I got abandoned not long after. I guess they got tired of having me?

The First Prince of the Kingdom of Ravino.

After being abandoned by him, Vivian survived a near-death experience.

-I wanted to go back to the one I loved, but I was afraid I would only hurt him again, so I decided to live quietly.

But the world would not leave her alone.

Slave traders came to her village, and she was enslaved and sold away.

-It was a huge castle.

-I was born there, into something new.

A Blood Queen.

A Queen of the Night.

When Vivian learned of the death of her beloved, she became so enraged that she swept away Magnes.

But she didn’t stop there.

After killing the first prince of the Ravino Kingdom, the man who had started this whole thing, she took the initiative in crushing the Ravino Kingdom.

And then.

The one who made her the Blood Queen. Another member of the Darkness Seven, the so-called King of the Vampires.

The Vampire Lord.

Dracula.

This, in short, was Count Dante’s true identity.

“Count Dante… Dante….”

A mumbling Fabian stood in front of him.

“Step aside.”

“Vivian Annette.”

The one she loved.

Though he never guessed that it would be Fabian.

“How did you know that name…..”

Fabian’s voice trailed off as his eyes narrowed.

“If you want to meet her, you will listen to me.”

“I can meet her?”

“Yes.”

“How can I!”

“Just close your eyes and believe in me.”

Fabian clenched his fists and straightened back upright, his eyes shaking.

His expression cooled, and his eyes settled.

Fabian bit his lip hard as he tried to process the various emotions contained within.

“I’ll trust you just this once.”

“Okay. Gather round.”

He had gathered all of the 2nd Team Cerberus.

He turned to the group in front of him and opened his mouth.

“Seria, I want you to take the group and move with Baron Millet to the village of Cabero.”

“Sure.”

Then Hugo raised his hand.

“And you, sir, are not moving with us?”

“I’ll stay behind and move toward Count Dante’s estate.”

“Ah…….”

“Then let’s go.”

Seria placed Baron Millet in the carriage, and after arranging the members of the group into pairs of one to two in each carriage.

They left the manor.

As the last carriage left the manor, he used his Shadow Alter Ego to hide itself behind the carriage wheels.

“Count Dante…..”

He was wondering why a member of the Darkness Seven would be on Magnes’s side, but that was only information he’d gained in the future.

What purpose did they have in infiltrating?

Or was it a betrayal.

He’d have to find out for himself. The problem was Count Dante. No, he needs the power of the Holy Empire to capture Dracula.

The legions of vampires he commands.

That was something the Cerberus organization could not handle.

“Manuel.”

The most powerful force in the Holy Empire.

A high-ranking paladin in the Dark Knights.

Capturing Count Dracula would not be too difficult if only he could be brought in.

But to do so, he needed proof.

Evidence that could sway the Paladins of the Holy Empire. And that proof would come from the social gathering Baron Millet spoke of.

Dracula’s minions will be there.

Once he captures them and proves that Count Dante is a vampire, he can ask Manuel for his aid.

“I’ll have to make sure the spy is there, too.”

He crossed Fabian off his mental list of suspects.

That left Adela, Luke, and Hugo.

Although he could rule out Adela and Luke.

He had some reservations.

He clearly ordered them to search the inside of the workshop. There is also a possibility that the emergency communication orb was activated at that time.

“I don’t know who it is.”

It would be clear this time.

The night of the group’s first foray into the night. He plans to use his Shadow alter ego to kill Baron Millet and transform.

If he becomes Baron Millet and sets the scene that he knows the spy, the spy will try to kill him to hide his identity.

“First…….”

Activating the communication orb in his hand.

-Communication received.

“Vice-Captain Riena, I request a convoy be dispatched to the manor of Baron Millet in the Kingdom of Ravino.”

-Okay.

“And could you also prepare some personal information on Hugo and Luke?”

-How far?

“I’ll need everything you have.”

-I’ll have it ready.

“And I have a favor to ask Heather.”

Burning Hell.

Warden Rukel sipped his coffee and stared at the communication orb. The topic of this Kingdom Council was the Darkness Seven.

An organization that had recently become more active.

They were moving aggressively, killing nobles in each kingdom.

The Royal Knights of each kingdom have been diligently tracking them down, but they have been unable to uncover either their reason or purpose.

-We’ll just have to gather as much information as we can until our next meeting.

The Pope of the Holy Empire concluded the meeting. Nothing new will come out of this.

The other kings all agreed with the Pope.

-Then finally, we will hear your report on Cerberus and finish the meeting.

Rukel spoke up at the Pope’s words.

“Currently, Cerberus is divided into two groups, Magnes is led by two captains which can be said to be the core of the organization. The two groups of Cerberus have been assigned to track down and capture both Brown Bear and Fire Ant.”

-So there’s progress, or there isn’t.

The King of the Carvin Kingdom replied bluntly.

“I can’t tell you the details of the operation because it’s classified. When we have something tangible to show for it, I’ll inform you then.”

-Does that mean you don’t trust any of us right now?

The King of the Crane Kingdom frowned.

“It’s already been confirmed that we have a spy within our ranks, it’s unavoidable, I hope you understand.”

-Spy? How are they going to catch that person?

“We’ll take care of that as well.”

Rukel drew a line in the sand.

One by one, as he listened to the various sides of the table, it was easy to lose track of the original direction of the six kingdoms.

-But since this is a joint endeavor of the Six Kingdoms, I would like to see some sort of progress report at our next meeting.

At the Pope’s calm words, Rukel nodded.

“I understand.”

-And with that, the meeting is adjourned.

Watching the communication orb turn off, Rukel let out a deep sigh. Every time he dealt with the six kings, his energy would drain away.

Cerberus’ achievements.

The organization had been up and running for less than a week, and it didn’t make sense that they were already being asked to report on their performance.

‘My head hurts.’

He leaned back in his chair for a moment.

At the moment, Cerberus is currently climbing up from the feet to hit the head step by step.

Perhaps they were fortunate.

Pierre and Hekan were making active moves to keep Magnes in check, so there was less attention on them.

And this morning.

There were reports of an armed confrontation between Pierre and Hekan and Magnes, and the appearance of Fire Ant and Brown Bear.

Perfect conditions for exploiting Magnes’s weaknesses. Now all he could do was pray that Daylon and Redin would do a good job.

*Knock!* *Knock!*

“What’s the matter?”

The door opened and his secretary walked in.

“Cerberus has requested access to a highly classified document.”

“What’s it about?”

“It’s about House Veltar.”

House Veltar.

Hugo Veltar’s family in Cerberus, and a prominent family in the Kingdom of Carvin whose members are all former mercenaries.

“Who is the requestor?”

“Redin.”

“Let him see it.”

The Intelligence Room in Burning Hell.

Information gained during undercover investigations and arrests to catch criminals.

It was divided into sections based on access rights. The information concerning House Veltar that he wanted was not accessible without the Warden’s permission.

A room in the deepest part of the Intelligence Room.

Within it, he searched for information on House Veltar.

“Here it is.”

He checked the relevant documents.

-House Veltar of the Carvin Kingdom.

-A family founded by the mercenary Gulak, who was instrumental in bringing down the Oberg Empire in the past.

-Had recently been involved in an armed conflict with Magnes’ organization.

-At that time, the head of the family’s wife died.

The continent of Bern was large, and there were many families with similar or identical surnames. He wanted to make sure what he knew was correct.

“It is exactly as I remember it.”

A family that was instrumental in bringing down the Oberg Empire.

That was enough for him.

Plus, the wife of the patriarch was Hugo’s mother. There was no way he would join forces with his mother’s killers.

That left Adela and Luke.

“Couldn’t I find this a little faster?”

Leaving Burning Hell, he headed for Count Barama’s estate, the first place they’d traveled using the teleporter.

The place Adela and Luke had gone.

First, he stopped by the weapons shop where Adela had visited.

“What can I do for you?”

“I just need to ask you a few questions about the woman who was here a few days ago……”

When he described Adela’s detailed appearance, the owner nodded as if he remembered her.

“She said her sword blade was a little dull, so she bought some things to sharpen it.”

“Was there anything else?”

“No, there wasn’t.”

“Thank you.”

He extended his hand to the arms dealer.

As they shook hands, he checked the status with his copy skill, but there was no sign of the owl talent associated with Magnes.

Exiting the weapon shop, he proceeded to the temple.

A temple of the Holy Empire, built in the territory of Count Barama. Walking past the worshippers gathered at the entrance, he stepped inside.

“You must be from Burning Hell.”

One of the priests in charge of the shrine recognized him and stepped closer.

“The Pope has told us that if the Burning Hell prison guards come to the shrine, we should actively help them.”

“Ah. Then let me ask you a question.”

He described Luke as he had asked at the weapons shop.

He was a divine knight, so it was easy to recount.

“Knight Luke, I remember him. He came here and took some holy water and a few other things.”

“Is that all?”

“Hmmm…… Oh, he also wrote a letter.”

“Do you know what it said?”

“Well, I’m not the one who wrote the letter, so I don’t know.”

The priest smirked.

“But do you know where the letter went?”

“Hmmm. I remember asking them to send it to his family.”

Finally, grasping the priest’s hand, he checked the status window, but again, there was no sign of the owl trait.

After thanking the priest.

He made it out of the temple and to his second destination, the laboratory. Entering the cave, he surveyed the area around the workshop.

The interior was in shambles.

As he looked around the area where he had kept the members of the Magnes organization under surveillance, he noticed an emergency communication orb embedded in one of the walls.

“Luke….”

This was the area that he had assigned him to sweep.

He pulled an item from his subspace pocket. A red goo in a small vial. It’s the analyzer he asked Heather to make for him.

Unscrewing the cap, he smeared the goo over the orb.

The sticky substance would change color when it detected traces of demonic energy, mana, or holy power.

Slowly, the goo changed color.

White.

A trace of holy power.

“Found you….”
