Survive as a Prison Guard in the Game

Chapter 90 - Count Dante's Conspiracy (3)

Chapter 90
Count Dante’s Conspiracy (3)

The town of Rivera loomed in the distance.

Although it was labeled as a town, it felt awkward to call it a town at all.

It was fenced off with a white-walled perimeter, and in the middle of it was a huge, towering building.

Around it, there were some palm trees.

There was a pool to swim in and play around.

A platform to show off on.

The town itself was a huge party venue.

♪♫♪♫♪♫♫♫

*Bam!♫* *Bam!♫* Bam!♫*

Upbeat music was blaring, and colorful lights created by magic illuminated the party.

“This is no joke. Do all the nobles here spend their time like this?”

“I’ve never done anything quite so garish before.”

*Heeeeeee*

They slowed the carriage down and slowly entered the venue. At the entrance to the white walled gate, the guards stopped their carriage.

“Let me check the invitations.”

Fabian opened the carriage window and pulled out a dagger. One of the guards grabbed the dagger and checked the etched text.

He gestured with his hand toward the entrance of the gathering.

“If you head inside, there should be a place where you can leave your carriage.”

“Okay.”

Leading the carriage, they went inside.

The music grew louder.

It was the kind of beat one might hear in a club, and it echoed throughout the entire place.

A space appeared to be cleared off to one side.

The carriages that had arrived earlier were parked in a row. Finding an empty spot, he pulled up to it.

“Come, Prince, have fun.”

“I will.”

Fabian stepped out of the carriage and into the midst of the crowd. As he watched, he put on the earrings Heather had made for him.

An artifact that acted as a walkie-talkie.

*Zizik!*

There was a brief burst of static, then the connection was active.

“‘Can you guys hear me?”

-I hear you.

-Yeah.

Adela and Riena seem to have arrived, but Seria and Luke seem to have been delayed.

After a while.

He confirm that the late-comers, Seria and Luke, have arrived on the site.

“There should be Count Dante’s men here. Vampires are distinguished by their sharp teeth and eyes that change when they smell blood. We need to check for these two traits.”

-Do we arrest them as soon as we confirm they’re vampires?

He answered Luke’s question.

“Ah, Count Dante is our target today, so leave the rest of the nobles alone.”

-I see.

“Then we shall begin the operation.”

After finishing the transmission, he got out of the carriage.

There’s something important to accomplish first before they can capture the Vampires. They possess a special ability. It needs to be disabled.

He personally requested a divine magic circle from the Medical Director.

All he has to do is place the stones containing the divine power in various places where they cannot be seen.

“Hmmm.”

He hummed and moved his body as if he was enjoying this place. Moving out of sight of the other patrons.

He scattered the rocks around the party.

-How could anyone do this…….

-This is too much. They’re treating people like animals.

-Drugs and alcohol are the norm.

“Everybody, don’t get caught up in the atmosphere, stay focused on the mission.”

-Yes.

-I don’t know if they’re vampires, but I’ve noticed men who appear to be in charge of this place, dressed in stark white uniforms with black ties around their necks.

-I spotted one with sharp teeth in the pool on the east side.

Reports continued to come in.

As he was making a large circle along the perimeter wall, he was approached by a man who appeared to be working at the venue.

“Hey, you, what are you doing here?”

“I was just taking a look around.”

“Looking’? What are you looking for…….”

He moved towards the man with a ghost walk.

Gagging him, then snapping his neck, he quietly set the body away in a corner.

He deposited the last stone atop the body.

He stripped the man of all his clothing and transformed into the dead guy’s visage.

“Wait near your respective targets.”

Holding a tray for wine, he strode back inside the party.

Flashing lights and booming music.

Inside, a number of nobles were dancing and drinking. Yatran’s memory was only a fraction of the people he saw.

“Open up, fucker.”

“Mmph…….”

A male nobleman was forcing the mouth of a naked man open and shoving a bottle of alcohol down his throat.

Those around them laughed maniacally as they watched and cheered.

“Whiskey.”

“Another bottle, one more!”

The sight alone made him sick to his stomach, but the [Cold Heart] kept him grounded and calm.

-The man in the white uniform. His eyes changed for a split second. Definitely a vampire.

Just as he was about to initiate the operation with Adela’s report.

A man in a pure white uniform spoke first, using an amplifier.

“Aaah. Good to see you all here. Are you all having fun?”

“Waaaahhhh!”

“I’ve been sent up here for a moment to share something with you guys to add to the merriment.”

The man in uniform revealed something in his hand.

“This is something brand new, and I thought I’d share it with just three of you here so you can have a chance to sample it first…….”

The man swept his gaze around the audience.

Then he pointed to exactly three people.

“Ivan, Blenno, and Prince Adrian. Please come up to the stage.”

Cheering erupted around them.

Through it all, Adela’s voice came over the transmitter.

-Has the information been leaked? What do we do now?

This was not a matter of spies.

Count Dante would have been watching the entire event with his ultrasonic surveillance, all the way down to the point where we were stalking the nobles and disguising ourselves as them.

“Once you’re up there, when I give you the signal, grab that guy in the white uniform.”

-I see.

-Okay.

The man in the uniform sprinkles a little blue powder on a small table.

The three made their way onto the stage.

While their training kept their tension from outwardly surfacing, he could see the tremors in their slightest movements.

“By the looks on your faces, the three of you don’t seem to be happy with this…….”

“That can’t be.”

“Is that so, then let me introduce you to the new drug we have created, ‘Cerberus’.”

At that moment.

A colorful firecracker exploded.

Along with the firecrackers, a blue powder fell, and the nobles’ eyes changed and they began to wriggle like zombies.

“Humph!”

” I’m beginning to feel sick. Fuck.”

“What are you doing, bastard, why are you hitting me!”

The atmosphere turning increasingly violent.

Just as he was about to exploit the chaos, someone from behind him jabbed something at his back. Turning his head slightly, he saw a man holding a sword.

“Get up there quietly.”

His eyes darted to the front.

Adela and Fabian were subdued, and beside them, Luke was grinning wickedly.

An open betrayal.

Riena and Seria, who had been hiding in the crowd, had also been captured by the rest of the gang and were now being dragged up onto the stage.

“Huuu.”

He was thinking about how he was going to wrap things up once this mission was over. It was more convenient for him if Luke was willing to step forward and admit to being a traitor.

Swiftly, he unsheathed his sword.

Twisting around, he slashed the throat of the one behind him, then retrieved the Divine Stone from his sleeve and slammed it to the ground.

“By the Grace of the Goddess Veronica.”

With a short prayer, the stone resonated. A pillar of white light burst forth from the stones hidden throughout the entire area.

They radiated with divine power.

The gentle aura lulled the guests to sleep.

The only ones standing now were the vampires, the men of Cerberus and Count Dante.

“Fabian, you’ll take Luke, Adela, you’ll take those in uniform. Senior Riena and Seria, you’ll take care of the other vampires.”

He barked out instructions and moved.

Running forward, he decapitated the nearest vampire. The vampire’s eyes widened as it failed to dodge the strike.

“How come I can’t do anything with my abilities?”

Vampires have abilities.

A body and reflexes that transcended humans.

Based on that, they have the ability to take away the abilities of the people they sucked blood from, but in the presence of a divine magic circle, vampires are no better than mosquitoes.

“Ten minutes at the most. We need to have everything wrapped up in that time.”

Moving as fast as he could, he started with the ones on the outer perimeter. He didn’t want any of them to escape.

“Shit!”

Luke’s face contorted, he fell to his knees at Fabian’s blade. Beside him, Adela and the woman in the white uniform clashed.

*Bang!*

*Swish!*

He watched the vampire and Adela battle.

If she could oversee an event like this instead of Count Dante, she must be at least one of the Four Heavenly Kings that Count Dante has.

For that matter, she didn’t look too strong.

If they were at the level of the Four Heavenly Kings, they should have been able to easily subdue those two within the Divine Magic Circle.

Why?

Is Count Dante’s power still weak?

At that moment, something flashed through his mind.

He knew the level of the future Count Dante. And the Four Heavenly Kings’ skill level were.

-I worked very hard to become a Vampire Lord.

A phrase he’d spit out when confronting Dracula.

What if Count Dante wasn’t a pureblood vampire, but became one when he entered the Darkness Seven?

And what if he doesn’t have access to his powers yet?

Then this could really work.

Some of the ridiculous abilities that Count Dracula uses in the game are not even possible.

“Got it all sorted.”

Fabian hauled Luke in front of him.

“Handcuff him, throw him to one side, and get to work mopping up the area.”

“You dare even touch the…. knight of the Holy Empire.”

He kicked Luke in the face with his foot.

“Shut up.”

He left the unconscious Luke and surveyed the situation.

“Irina! Why are you here….”

Adela ran to one side.

Earlier, a male slave had been forced to drink by a nobleman. Next to him was a woman, dressed in tattered clothes, her eyes unhinged.

Adela braced herself against her.

“Irina, wake up.”

“Do you know her?”

“Yes. She was a noblewoman in the Adrian Empire.”

A noblewoman?

“What’s her family name?”

“Chaldea.”

Chaldea.

It was a family name he’d recognized.

One of the twelve families that had been instrumental in the destruction of the Orberg Empire. They had been incorporated into each of the six kingdoms after the war.

One of them was Hugo’s, and the other was the one in front of him, Chaldea.

His head throbbed with a sense of unease.

Using the Copy skill on the people next to him, he checked their identities.

They were from all twelve families.

“Darkness Seven…..”

The ones who want to revive the Oberg Empire.

He had no idea how they had convinced the criminal organization to round up the descendants of the Twelve Families and toy with them like this.

What makes this situation even more perplexing.

The descendants of the 12 families who toppled down the Oberg Empire and created the six kingdoms were now being toyed with by the descendants of the major families of the current six kingdoms.

The moment this became known.

There will be a schism within the Six Kingdoms.

A giant trap dug by the Darkness Seven.

“Feed her this.”

He handed Adela an entry-level elixir.

For now, they needed to wake up everyone from the Twelve Families and find out what had happened.

“Irina, are you alright?”

“Ah… Della?”

“What the hell is going on?”

“Ugh…. I…. I’m alive?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Stop it… stop it….”

Irina covered her head.

Her eyes were trembling as if she was hallucinating. Using the power of purification, he purged away the drug from her, but she was still visibly unwell.

Leaving them alone, he called out to the rest of the group.

“Senior Riena, please take care of the nobles here.”

“Of course.”

“Adela, Seria, you will stay here and help Senior Riena. Count Dante’s subordinates may come.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Fabian, you’ll go with me to Count Dante’s territory.”
