Chapter 74: Misty Island

Qin Mu, unaware of the situation underground, maneuvered his Golden Flame Eagle to descend. As he descended, a thick blue electric light suddenly flashed from the lake below.

"Sizzle!" Dense, blue electric arcs instantly illuminated the sky above the lake, twisting and darting like electric snakes towards the descending flying Zergs. Amidst the flashing lights, long, slender monsters wrapped in electric light shot out from the water.

"Bold indeed. Daring to attack with so many flying Horde Leader monsters gathered." Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

The lightning attack was incredibly fast, making it difficult even for high-ranking Horde Leader flying Zerg to dodge. A Black-Crowned Golden Eagle hit consecutively stiffened, its wings ceased moving, and it plummeted straight down.

If it were just one or two strikes, the lightning's power wouldn't be significant, but the sheer number was overwhelming. Even high-ranking Horde Leader monsters would be paralyzed or even knocked out if hit consecutively. Fortunately, another Black-Crowned Golden Eagle caught it; otherwise, the outcome would have been dire.

"This ability?" Qin Mu's eyes lit up. This attack seemed quite effective. They could actually discharge electricity collectively.

"Electric eel-type monsters? And so many of them." After the attack, Qin Mu was somewhat pleased to see the dense swarm of Iron-Line Electric Eels and Unicorn Electric Eels below.

There were over a hundred species of fish-like monsters capable of discharging electricity worldwide. Qin Mu had encountered electric monsters during the first-level monster tide, but those were solitary and lacked the ability to attack collectively. 

This type of attack was perfect for the Swarm. So far, Qin Mu had rarely used the Swarm's collective attack ability. The only times he had were when he extracted their spirit energy for attacks.

Was it because Qin Mu didn't want to? Of course not!

It was simply because there wasn't a suitable attack method, a good way to launch a collective attack. Up to this point, the vast majority of the Swarm units only had close combat abilities. How could they launch a collective attack?

Qin Mu had previously envisioned that, apart from spirit attacks, the most suitable collective attack ability for the Swarm at this stage would be various types of lightning or light-based attacks.

The collective attack ability of these electric eels was excellent.

The electric eels that attacked the high-ranking Black-Crowned Golden Eagle numbered only about a thousand. Most of them were soldier or Commander-level beasts, with only one being a low-ranking Horde Leader. Under a collective attack, they were able to bring down the Black-Crowned Golden Eagle from a height of a hundred meters.

"This Misty Island is indeed a good place. I made a good catch as soon as I arrived." Qin Mu was quite pleased in his heart. It was a good start.

Without rushing to capture the electric eel monsters below, he controlled the Swarm to raise their altitude slightly. These electric eels were a pleasant surprise, but the focus was still on Misty Island.

"No wonder it's called Misty Island Lake. I encountered more than a dozen high-ranking Horde Leader monsters in such a short distance." As Qin Mu arrived at the central island of the lake, he couldn't help but sigh in admiration. He had never seen such a dense concentration of Horde Leader monsters before.

Not only were they dense, but they were also exceptionally fierce, daring to attack the numerous flying high-ranking Horde Leaders actively. In just this short journey, Qin Mu had been attacked three times. However, when Qin Mu set foot on the misty island in the center of the lake, such attacks ceased.

The entire island was like a primitive forest, with tall trees standing and dense vegetation. Yet, strangely, despite the lush vegetation, which should have been teeming with monsters and constant roars, the forest was eerily quiet, almost devoid of any sound.

Faced with this unusual situation, Qin Mu's face instead revealed a smile. He knew he had come to the right place. The reason for the eerie silence on Misty Island was due to the presence of numerous spirits of nature. These sentient plants had either killed or driven away all the monsters, resulting in this unsettling quiet. 

Covered in a black suit, Qin Mu flew through the forest on a Crescent Moon Disk, with 256 Crescent Blades floating and shuttling around him.

"Go, find all the spirits." 

Three hundred flying Zerg dispersed, heading towards the central island of the lake. Information about the spirit of nature had already been transmitted to the Hive and shared with the entire Swarm. The central island wasn't very large, and with their assistance, finding all the spirits of nature wouldn't be difficult. Their task wasn't just to find the spirits of nature but also to stir up any hidden dangers, such as the lurking Cloud Vine.

"The scenery on this Misty Island is quite nice." In the forest, vibrant flowers bloomed, some even larger than a face.

"Man-eating flower?" Qin Mu flew straight towards it, and as he passed by, the pink flower suddenly expanded, attempting to swallow him. A Crescent Blade sliced through, easily cutting the man-eating flower, which oozed red liquid. Such an attack posed almost no threat to Qin Mu.

After the RR virus, almost all animals had mutated into various monsters, but plant mutations were rare. Man-eating flowers were among the few mutated plants.

Ignoring this minor incident, Qin Mu continued to fly forward.

Suddenly, a violent rumbling sound and the angry cries of Black-Crowned Golden Eagles erupted from the center of the island. A giant willow tree with a diameter of over three meters had countless willow branches lashing out like long whips, creating a deafening noise. Under the attack of this willow tree, a high-ranking Black-Crowned Golden Eagle soared into the sky, its abdomen bearing a bloody wound.

The other flying high-ranking Horde Leader monsters circling above let out cries and swooped down to attack the giant willow tree.

Around the giant willow tree, there were eight smaller willow trees. They even knew how to coordinate their attacks against the flying high-ranking Horde Leader monsters swooping down from the sky.

The sounds of willow branches breaking and flesh tearing echoed continuously.

Qin Mu flew up on the Crescent Moon Disk, watching the nine willow trees battling the Swarm from afar, a smile on his lips. The willow trees before him were the spirits of nature, the same Thousand-Year Willow Heart that Qin Mu had consumed before. That Thousand-Year Willow Heart had boosted Qin Mu's strength from an intermediate Warlord to an intermediate Wargod.

Not only was there the Thousand-Year Willow Heart, but the largest of these trees had already reached the level of a Ten-Thousand-Year Willow Heart. If Qin Mu had consumed this Ten-Thousand-Year Willow Heart, he might have directly become a peak-level Wargod. Spirits of nature were different from ordinary plants; they had some sentience and simple abilities for attack and self-defense. The more powerful the spirit, the more precious it was.

That ten-thousand-year-old willow heart could probably rival a planetary-level being. However, it's a pity that while spirits of nature can significantly boost the strength of a Wargod, they cannot enhance the power of a planetary-level strong being.

Continuous battles shook the entire Misty Island, but Qin Mu didn't rush to act. Instead, he observed carefully.

As the Swarm battled the nine spirits of nature, a thick, black-purple vine shot out from the distant mist. The vine, as far as Qin Mu could see, was over a thousand meters long. It easily coiled around a high-ranking Black-Crowned Golden Eagle and swiftly dragged it back into the mist.

"Cloud Vine!"

Qin Mu's eyes lit up. The Cloud Vine, hidden in the shadows, had finally revealed itself!
