Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Transferring System version 1.0
Chapter 1: Transferring System version 1.0
Mohamed Almond trudged through the school gates, his eyes cast down at the ground. He hated Mondays, hated the feeling of being trapped in a never-ending cycle of misery.
As he walked through the crowded hallways, Mohamed couldn't help but feel like an outcast. His worn-out shoes and faded jeans made him stand out in a sea of designer labels and expensive gadgets.
But it wasn't just his clothes that made him feel like a loser. It was the constant bullying, the snickers and whispers that followed him everywhere he went. Mohamed's cousin, Brad, was the worst of the bunch. He seemed to take pleasure in making Mohamed's life miserable, always pushing him around and calling him names.
As Mohamed walked into his locker room, he was greeted by the usual chorus of snickers and whispers. He ignored them, focusing instead on grabbing his books for his next class.
But as he turned to leave, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. His eyes looked sunken, his skin pale and drawn. He looked like a ghost, a shadow of a person who had given up on life.
Mohamed's heart twisted with pain as he thought about his life. He lived with his aunt, who treated him like dirt, and his cousin, Brad, who was a constant thorn in his side.
After a long and miserable day at school, Mohamed trudged home, feeling like he was walking through quicksand. He just wanted to go to his room, lock the door, and forget about the world.
As he walked into his room, Mohamed's eyes landed on the mysterious book that his aunt had given him. It was an old, leather-bound tome with strange symbols etched into the cover.
Mohamed had tried to open the book countless times before, but it had always remained stubbornly shut. He had begun to think that it was just a useless relic, a reminder of his miserable life.
But as he looked at the book now, Mohamed felt a surge of anger and frustration. He was tired of being pushed around, tired of being treated like dirt.
With a snarl, Mohamed grabbed the book and hurled it across the room. "F*ck you!" he shouted, kicking the book as it lay on the floor.
As he stood there, panting with rage, Mohamed felt a strange sensation. The air around him seemed to shimmer and glow, and the book on the floor began to stir.
Mohamed's eyes widened as the book slowly opened, revealing pages filled with strange symbols and diagrams. A low hum filled the air, and Mohamed felt a strange energy coursing through his veins.
As the book's glow faded, Mohamed heard a voice echo in his mind. "Welcome, Host 21. I am System 1.0."
Mohamed was shocked that he was hearing voices in his head.
[ "Syncing with host in 3... 2...1"]
A flurry of notifications popped up in Mohamed's line of sight.
[25%/100% syncing...]
[50%/100% syncing...]
[100%/100% syncing...]
[Syncing Complete. Scanning host attributes...]
[Scanning Complete...]
[Universe, why did you give me such a weak and useless host?]
Mohamed was shocked by the numerous notifications. What did it mean by "weak host"? And what was the syncing process all about?
["Host is considered weak and useless with a nut brain"]
"Wait, what!" Mohamed exclaimed, his mind reeling with questions.
["Transferring System version 1.0 to host"]
[Transfer complete]
The notifications stopped, and Mohamed was left standing in stunned silence. What was happening to him? And what did this System thingy want from him?
As he stood there, trying to make sense of it all, Mohamed felt his vision begin to blur. He stumbled backwards, feeling a strange sensation wash over him.
And then, everything went black.
