Chapter 2: Chapter 2- Better than your old
Mohamed slowly opened his eyes, finding himself lying on his bed. He was disoriented and confused, unsure of what had happened. He tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over him, forcing him to lie back down.
As he lay there, trying to clear his head, Mohamed noticed that the room was quiet. The strange energy that had filled the air earlier was gone, and the book was no longer glowing.
Mohamed slowly sat up, looking around the room. Everything seemed normal, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He looked down at his hands, wondering if he had imagined the whole thing. But as he looked at his palms, he saw something that made his heart skip a beat.
A small, intricate symbol was etched into his palm. It was the same symbol that he had seen on the pages of the book.
Mohamed's mind reeled as he stared at the symbol. What did it mean? And how had it gotten there? Upon closer look at the symbol, it started to fade away. "Huh, weird," he thought internally.
He looked around the room again, feeling a sense of unease. He knew that he had to find answers, but he had no idea where to start.
As he sat there, trying to make sense of it all, a knock on his room door drew him out of his thoughts. "Mohamad! Come down and do the dishes!" his aunt's voice called out before she left.
Mohamed worked up the motivation to get out of bed and trudged downstairs to the dining room. The house was a small, two-story building that his aunt had inherited from her parents. It was old and creaky, with worn-out furniture and faded wallpaper.
As he entered the dining room, Mohamed was greeted by the familiar sight of dirty dishes piled up in the sink. His aunt, Rachel, was a nurse at the local hospital, and she often came home late, leaving Mohamed to do the household chores. Her husband had gone missing about a year ago, leaving her and her son, Brad, to care for themselves.
Mohamed sighed and began to wash the dishes, his mind still reeling from the strange events that had occurred earlier. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that his life was about to change in ways he couldn't imagine.
As he washed the dishes, Mohamed's thoughts turned to his aunt. She was a kind but strict woman who had taken him in after his parents had died in a car accident. Mohamed had been only 5 years old at the time, and his aunt had raised him as her own.
But despite her kindness, Mohamed's aunt had always been distant, never really showing him the love and affection that he craved. Mohamed had grown up feeling like an outsider, like he didn't really belong in his own family.
As he finished washing the dishes, Mohamed dried his hands and looked around the kitchen. It was a small, cramped space with old appliances and worn-out countertops. Mohamed had always dreamed of having a bigger, better kitchen, one with modern appliances and plenty of space to cook and entertain.
But for now, Mohamed was stuck with this small, cramped kitchen, and the feeling of being trapped in a life that wasn't his own.
As he put away the last of the dishes, Mohamed heard the sound of the other room door opening upstairs. His aunt worked out wearing a purple-ish gown.
"Mohamad, are you done!" she called out, her voice tired but cheerful.
Mohamed sighed and wiped his hands on a towel. "Yes," he replied, trying to also sound cheerful. "How was work today?"
His aunt came into the kitchen, dropping her purse onto the counter. "It was stressful as always," she replied, yawning. "But I'm glad to be home. How was your day?"
Mohamed shrugged, not wanting to talk about the strange events that had occurred earlier. "It was fine," he replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
His aunt stared at him up and down suspiciously, "Did you do something to your hair or face? You look different," she voiced out, sounding amazed. "Your skin is so smooth."
Mohamed touched his face, confused. "No, I didn't," he replied, feeling a sense of unease.
He hurriedly left the kitchen and climbed the stairs, heading for the bathroom. As he entered, he stared at the mirror at the left side of the wall. Shock was evident in his eyes as he took in his reflection.
His dark skin looked smoother and more even-toned than before. His eyes seemed brighter, and his hair looked healthier. Mohamed couldn't believe the transformation.
Suddenly, he heard a ding in his head, followed by a notification in his sight.
[Hello.... useless host! Do you like your new look? It's better than your old sh*tty look]
Mohamed's eyes widened in shock. "Huh, what's this? Who are you?" he thought internally.

[ Santa has come bearing gift ...hehe]
[Host need to say the word "open system interface" to check if host name is not in Santa naughty list].
Mohamed stood there in front of the mirror, his mind reeling with questions. He heard the same girly voice he had heard earlier speak.
His aunt's voice called out from downstairs, "Mohamed, are you okay in there?"
Mohamed quickly composed himself. "I'm fine! I'll be out in a minute," he replied.
Still standing there in shock, Mohamed hesitantly said, "Op... Open System Interface." He stuttered a little.
Notification began to pop up in his sight.
