Chapter 74: Air Lifts
With all of the initial tests for the elven homes complete, construction went into full swing. Knowing the intensity required for everyone's homes, it was also decided that the Winged-Human's Mountain top village would be constructed first. This would provide everyone enough places to go and stay sheltered in the event Night Silver wasn't around to use [Nature's Shelter] for everyone. And everyone sort of knew this was how it would work out anyway.
To help speed along the progress, Night Silver used her magic to fell a significant number of trees from the forest nearby. I really don't like the feeling I get when doing this… I've already created far more trees than this so I shouldn't feel bad… Hmm… That's when Night Silver realized the number of creatures that just suddenly lost their homes all in one swoop too. That might be why I feel off, I can get a vague sense of how any of Nature's Creatures feel without their knowledge. So many creatures just lost their habitats and are understandably freaking out. I'll just have to converse with them….

"Little ones, forgive me. These trees will go to good use, I promise." Night Silver said, speaking to all of the nervous and confused woodland creatures.
The sense of confusion turned to anger and then into freight. Before them was someone they knew, no, they felt deep down they couldn't lift a finger to go against. She gave off a motherly aura to all of the creatures… No, to them it was more than that, which only made them more confused why their homes were destroyed.
Night Silver bent down and offered her hand to a terrified squirrel. The squirrel nervously looked at the soft, tender and warmly inviting hand. Night Silver smiled, waiting for the Squirrel to take action. The Squirrel took a few moments before crawling up onto Night Silver's hand. Then it laid there gently wagging its tail side to side.
"I don't wish to harm any of you. However, I have unfortunately done so. For that I'm sorry, but I'll make it up to you. I'll make you all a really nice home." Night Silver smiled gently petting the squirrel with her finger making sure not to accidentally hurt it.
Looking around, Night Silver took mental note of how many creatures needed a new home. It was no small number. But it wasn't impossible for someone like her. She lifted all of the creatures up using her magic, all down to the smallest creatures. I… probably should have done this before I felled so many trees. But oh well, it gives me an excuse to clear more forest space to grow a forest how I design.
"How's here look?" Night Silver asked, showing the creatures a new area that wasn't densely populated. "It should be more than enough to support all of you." She said letting all the creatures back down to the ground for them to find their own way once again. It is a rich and fertile area. I should let them operate on their own again. Any further interaction could lead to disastrous consequences. I don't want any of them thinking I favor one species more than the other. Though, to be honest I could do without that many different types of bugs. Perhaps I should study what each of them actually do and see if any of them can be culled, or if I should introduce more species… Not just for bugs though.

Back at the area that used to be forest, now just a lot of stumps remained, loggers were already at work. With the loggers were apprentices learning how the logging work was done. A truly nice sight to see for a goddess trying to build a settlement that will be able to sustain itself.
Aside from loggers there were others prepping and carrying the logs up to the top of the mountain. This job was perfectly suited for the Winged-human warriors, they had been trained to fly under grueling loads. There was even a part of their training where they were taught how to fight while carrying two comrades. It was needless to say that air lifting the logs was the way to go.
"Oh wow! Hey this would be excellent training. I wonder how long we could hold this much weight airborne…" Rocky Breeze suggested after feeling the weight of the bundle of logs.
"You know, that would be a great idea! We should try it some time." Sun's Light replied with gusto.
The two warriors gave each other a glance, staring deep into each other's eyes. A smirk appeared on their faces, mirroring the other guys. And then the reps started. "One! Come on! Two! Let's go! Three!" They sang out with their unexpectedly nice voices. They also inevitably started a trend where everyone started doing the same thing.
Fortunately the children were nowhere near these locations and thus wouldn't be able to get hurt. Then again… Depending on how one defines children… There are a bunch of them flying around shouting out numbers with heavy loads just waiting for them to mess up. Night Silver thought to herself as she arrived to see the high and crazy spirits.
The children were currently undergoing their own curriculum. Teachers from all three races worked together to formulate lessons for the children. These lessons didn't last all too long. And to be fair it was really just teaching the children all manner of different jobs and seeing what they were most interested in learning how to do.
An exception to this was the Magic training that would be taught by Night Silver. At least until a powerful magic user appeared and was able to take over the teaching.
The other exception was physical training, where all of the children would do simple workouts to ensure they were physically fit and remained in good health. The exceptions to this rule were the winged-human children who needed to learn how to control their wings properly and thus, learn how to fly.
The days went by, like this with Night Silver checking in on the progress that Brightness was making… Which was to say, he was improving, but still a very far way off from properly mastering the new [Transformation] spell.
Soon, a week went by and Night Silver had to make her temporary departure.
