The Bad Boy's Promise

Chapter 29: One chance - III

Wiggling out of the window, on unsteady feet, Victoria once again made her way towards the basement that she really hoped she would be seeing for the last time.

Seconds later, she stood in front of the door where the boy was staying and opened it only to see him supporting new bruises than before.

The decision was right. He had just as much right as her to get out as he did.

"I have a way out," she said breathlessly. "Hurry up."

It was obvious that he could not put pressure on the bad foot that still had nails on it, so Victoria tried her level best to help him out of the prison cell and up the stairs.

Even if it meant putting weight on her wounds and bruises.

Helping him up the stairs and across the living room was no easy task. By the end of it, she was panting like she had run a marathon.

The lady gasped at the sight of the boy and his condition before she rushed over to help him just like she had done with Victoria.

"Here," Victoria helped him up and the woman dragged him out.

"I called the police for both of you, I gave them the location so that they will be able to come back here and trace the kidnappers." The lady informed Victoria and she smiled in gratitude. At least, even when she was helpless, the lady tried to do something more.

Pushing the boy out, Victoria moved out herself before stepping out of the window and almost tumbling to the ground.

"never mind the tumble," she mumbled to herself, "at least I'm fucking out of this hell hole."

They both ignored the groans of pain by the boy that they were both trying to get in the car. Once they both were sitting on the backseat, Victoria pushed herself to the floor of the car just as she did the same with the boy.

At least in this way, if they encountered the woman and her entourage, they wouldn't be able to look at them and spot them immediately.

"Are you all okay? Why are you on the floor?" The panicked Voice of the lady made Victoria open her eyes again and answer her,

"Just so they don't spot us. Please drive quickly." She whispered before closing her eyes once again. Victoria felt the engine start, the hum of it which surprisingly provided her with the sense of security that she had never received from anyone before. She was finally out of that hellhole.

Feeling the eyes of someone on her face, she cracked her eyes open in the slightest before turning her head to the direction of the boy who was staring at her.

"What?"

He shook his head before speaking hesitantly, "you came for me."

"I did," she agreed, closing her eyes, "so after this, you can fuck off."
