The Bad Boy's Promise

Chapter 9: The alchemist opportunity- II

For a moment, the entire world stopped revolving for Victoria. She stared at the door in the dark room before making her way towards it.

Touching the place where she knew the door handle was, she pulled it but the door did not budge.

She tried it again but the same result was in front of us. Victoria even tried calling at the door with one of her feet on the wall applying as much pressure as possible.

"Fuck," she breathed out her first curse word she had ever said. And that was all that went in her head.

"Let go,"

"No," she whimpered, "I just… I just helped her get out of this change and she left me."

Victoria sniffed, "she was supposed to help me get you out of here but she left us.."

How could someone do that? How could she ever have the guts to leave someone behind when they all had an equal chance to leave?

She heard a sigh from behind her before the boys spoke up again, "I would come and stand next to you but I can't walk. So why don't you come and sit beside me."

And he was not going to walk for a very long time because they were not going to get out of here.

She scoffed before moving away from the door and blindly reaching for her corner of the room. This was thier one chance and it was taken away from them by a stupid girl!

"I don't know what she thinks of herself! Where does she think she would be able to go alone?!"

"Hey," the boy interrupted, "why do you bother thinking about something that has already happened?"

"because," Victoria replied, "it hurts."

"Oh,"

She frowned, "what? Have you ever been hurt?"

A few minutes passed before he replied, "does it matter if you're hurt? Who cares?"

It was then she noticed that he had a slight accent but disregarded it. "The people who love you care. They care if you're hurt from a paper cut or from an accident."

"Huh," she heard, "Who do you love?"

"My parents," she said as a reflex.

"everyone loves their parents," she heard a shuffle, "who else?"

Victoria gulped. Who else did she love? She had no one else to love, no siblings, no friends that she could hang out with whenever she wanted. She had no one except her parents.

"No one?" As if he read her mind, "you said your parents because they stay with you as an obligation, who do you love enough to stay with them out of it?"

"What eighteen year old talks like that?" She asked, slightly agitated with his questioning. "what do you want to become when you grow up, journalist?"

He chuckled. "Naah,"

They fell into a comfortable silence, deciding the end of their conversation. It still hurt to know that Leah had betrayed her after she had helped her selflessly.

Why would anyone do that?

She was about to doze off when the door opened and also did her eyes.

"Pests," the man whistled, "let me remind you of what happens when you try to escape. This,"

He threw someone inside before closing the door with a loud bang.

Curious and scared, Victoria stood up before walking towards whatever they had thrown inside only to come to a shock when it was a person.

It was Leah.
