Chapter 133: An impossible child
Pov Dia,
Dia: "Could you at least explain the situation so I can understand better?"
Gabriel: "As you know, among the original three factions, we are the ones who struggle the most to gain new members in our ranks."
Dia: "I assume you're referring to the angelic race itself and not just your faction?"
Gabriel: "Exactly. In the past, our Father would create new angels to replenish our ranks. But now that He is no longer with us, we are already struggling to manage the Celestial System. For the moment, it seems impossible to create new angels."
It was understandable. After all, angels cannot engage in sexual activities without falling and becoming Fallen Angels, which would be catastrophic for their race. Meanwhile, devils, despite their low birth rate, have the Evil Pieces system to recruit new devils into their ranks.
Dia: "I'll look for Sera's Bishop. If anyone would know a method to have a child in an unconventional way, it's her."
I went to hell and found Aurora with the rest of the peerage—and a little girl?
I didn't have time to ask any questions, so I took Aurora to heaven.
In hindsight, I should have explained the situation beforehand because she thought I was inviting her on a surprise date.
To avoid any misunderstandings, I spoke to Sera telepathically to explain the situation. Judging by her tone, she didn't seem too pleased that I wasn't showing interest in her or her new peerage member.
Thankfully, I didn't have the time to comment on Sera's irresponsibility in putting a child, who looked no older than seven, in her peerage.
Once we arrived in heaven:
Aurora: "I understand the situation now. You're asking for a way to increase the ranks of angels without them falling into disgrace?"
Gabriel: "You've understood the problem perfectly."
Aurora began thinking, likely reviewing all the books she had read so far in search of a spell to solve the problem.
Aurora: "I know how to do it, but I would need the both of you to help."
Dia: "I refuse. Every time you come up with something, it's a trap to get Gabriel and me to have a child together."
Aurora: "Do you honestly think I'd do something like that when the future of an entire race is at stake? Besides, I'm sure that if we tried, it would fail because demonic and sacred energies can't mix without destroying each other."
That was a solid explanation. It also reminded me of how I helped Misla with her issue of getting pregnant, despite the odds.
Aurora: "First, reach out and form a ball of energy."
I did as she instructed, and just for fun, I added a small amount of my PDD to the demonic energy sphere.
After that, we had to bring our spheres into contact while maintaining the energy to prevent it from exploding and to allow it to merge with the other sphere.
Fortunately, I was highly skilled in energy manipulation and could keep the energy stable before it was disrupted by the opposing forces.
Aurora: "Now you'll understand why it takes three people to create a life this way."
She began drawing runes around the sphere—runes I recognized as those used to attract a soul, combined with others that added small but crucial elements.
At least now I understood how to create a child without the need for a more... conventional method.
Once Aurora finished drawing the runes, her eyes widened in shock, revealing that something had gone wrong.
Indeed, the sphere escaped our control and began to shift shape, eventually forming into a child of about five years old before collapsing to the ground.
I dove forward immediately to catch them, ensuring they didn't get hurt. When I looked into their beautiful green eyes, I was certain—Gabriel and I had just created a child together.
