Chapter 13: Part 13. Finally Getting Married
The blessing was over, at least this way Lucas would be bound to Haisley. Julia smiled at her son and daughter-in-law, who were currently kissing. The reception would follow, Julia would only announce her son and daughter's marriage in the media.
Lucas was currently under the influence of the drug his father had injected. The drug works to make people lose consciousness slightly, but the person's body can be controlled according to the person who orders the person to perform a task. Just like what Julia told Lucas earlier, Lucas' body did what Julia told it to do.
After the event, Lucas's parents took them to the airport, where they would immediately leave for their honeymoon. Julia sent her son and daughter-in-law to her remote island. She did it deliberately, she wanted to see whether the person who had attacked Haisley was still there or not. She wanted to trap the culprit, at least the right-hand man.
Haisley had changed into her normal clothes as she was about to leave for the airport. Lucas was now in a sleeping position, and Haisley looked at the peaceful face of her husband, who was sleeping comfortably. The car had stopped at the airfield. Julia's family's private plane was waiting for them.
Two bodyguards carried Lucas into the private plane. Haisley got out of the car and approached his mother and father-in-law to say goodbye. "Everything has been arranged, so don't worry there. Lucas won't hurt you," Julia said with a smile.
"Thank you, Ma'am," said Haisley.
"Mommy," Julia said with a smile and took both of Haisley's hands. "Now I'm your mommy too, not just Lucas' mommy," Julia said.
"Mommy," Haisley said a little hesitantly, smiling forcefully.
Julia smiled. "Right, mommy," Julia said.
"Alright, have fun there with Lucas. Mom is waiting for the good news that you're pregnant," Julia said with a smile.
Haisley could only smile forcefully at her mother-in-law's words. Pregnant? It didn't occur to her that she was pregnant with Lucas' child. Everything that happened was because of a compulsion, if not because of compulsion, she did not want to be involved with Lucas.
On the plane, Haisley looked surprised because it was so luxurious inside. Haisley thought a private plane would still be the same as a regular airplane, but this was very luxurious in her opinion. Lucas was still sleeping in his seat with his seatbelt fastened. Haisley also sat in the window seat, not close to Lucas. She fastened her seatbelt, and soon the plane took off.
Haisley's first time on a plane, her heart was racing as she felt the plane begin to take off. She closed her eyes so tightly because she was afraid. After the plane was stabilized, Haisley slowly opened her eyes. She breathed in slowly and exhaled slowly to neutralize her heartbeat.
She looked at Lucas, who was still sleeping comfortably, two bodyguards now approached Lucas and unbuckled the seatbelt Lucas was wearing. They then took Lucas to a room. After that they came back out of Lucas' room, and one of the bodyguards now approached Haisley.
''Miss, if you wish to sleep, you can sleep in the room with Mr. Lucas,'' one of the bodyguards said.
''Yes, thank you,'' Haisley said.
The bodyguard excused himself and returned to his seat. Haisley chose to stare at the sky outside the window without any desire to go to the same room as Lucas. She was still afraid to just walk on the plane even though it was so quiet. Haisley couldn't imagine getting married at this age. Let alone marrying a wealthy man. She didn't know how rich Lucas's family was to have a private plane like this.
Staring at the sky for a long time, Haisley finally closed her eyes. It took about an hour to get to Lucas' family island. From the airport, they had to take a heli to the island, about a 20-minute ride from the airfield to the private island.
Haisley opened her eyes when there was a tap on her shoulder. "Here you are, miss," the flight attendant said as she smiled down at Haisley.
"Ah, yes. How is Mr. Lucas? is he awake?" asked Haisley as she stood up from her seat.
"He is, and Mr. Lucas is waiting at the heli," the flight attendant replied with a smile.
"Ah, alright," said Haisley.
Haisley exited the plane and was greeted by a helicopter not far from the plane. Two bodyguards immediately took Haisley to the helicopter. Already boarding the helicopter, Haisley was fitted with earplugs and then a seat belt by the bodyguard. After it was done, the helicopter door was closed.
Haisley closed her eyes so tightly, one hand holding Lucas' hand, making Lucas now turn his head towards her. Lucas returned Haisley's hand when he saw Haisley closing her eyes so tightly. Lucas' consciousness was not one hundred percent yet, so seeing the look of fear on Haisley's face made him worry.
"It's okay," Lucas said in a soft tone of voice, making Haisley slowly open her eyes to look at Lucas.
Lucas smiled, making Haisley's heart beat so fast. Haisley quickly turned her face away so as not to look at herself, who was currently misbehaving just looking at Lucas's smile. "Look to the right, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas," the pilot said to Lucas and Haisley.
To the right were rocks arranged in the shape of a heart. Lucas smiled. "Beautiful," Lucas said, then looked at Haisley.
Haisley, who moved her face forward to look at the right side of Lucas, immediately moved her face away so as not to kiss Lucas. Haisley's heart really couldn't be compromised with Haisley, who didn't want to feel this kind of rapid heartbeat.
No, she did not want to fall in love with a cruel man like Lucas. Lucas was a cruel man, Lucas was a bad man. His smile was fake, his smile was like an insect-eating flower. It lures insects in until they get entangled and become its food. Lucas' smile is the same, it looks sweet but could kill her at any moment to be fed to his pet snake or crocodile.
The helicopter lands on the small island that will be Lucas and Haisley's honeymoon spot. Lucas got off first, and then he helped Haisley down. He wanted to carry Haisley, but his body was unsteady, and he almost fell. "I can walk on my own, sir," Haisley said.
Lucas smiled and put his arm around Haisley's shoulders. He led Haisley with him to the house on the shore of the island. The house would be guarded by several bodyguards. There was no one else but them and the bodyguards guarding the perimeter of the island. They had made sure the island was safe from harm, but they did not know whether the person who was targeting Haisley knew the plan Julia had made or not. If his plan was discovered, then he was the wrong target.
