Chapter 14: BLOODLINE OF SACRIFICE [1]
"Not a part of this world," Caspian muttered.
{Hmm,...It could be both a curse and a blessing... but it feels more like a curse to me.}
Caspian frowned,"Why would you say that?"
{Well, in this world, a person's core can only reach its purest form—Aetherian Radiance, the pinnacle of power—when perfectly attuned to the world core. But you, child, have no such connection. That process doesn't apply to you at all.}
Caspian's eyes widened slightly.
"Wait... Aetherian Radiance?" he muttered under his breath.
He'd read about it in the novel—the ultimate state of elemental mastery, said to be attained only by the chosen.
Like —The heroes, the legends, and the destined rulers of this world. Caspian thought
{Exactly... Without a connection to the world core, that level of purity is impossible. You shouldn't even be able to wield elemental power. you shouldn't be able to manipulate this world's elements. And yet you've done so repeatedly.}
{From this. I can only deduced three things....}
{Firstly positive part — is that you may attain higher level than Aetherian Radiance, but I don't think that your core is that great it can defeat the world core,}
"Why not?," Caspian asked.
{To put it in one sentence — if it was that great you might not be this much Useless or weak,}
{Negative part is that you have to work hard than a normal person to attain a new level of purity of your core,}
{And third part will be explained by you with a simple question. Who are you?}
Caspian frowned deeply.
"I have already told you — I am human who transmigrated in this body," Caspian said.
"Now tell me. Who do you think am I?" Caspian asked.
The sword gave a derisive snort—
{From my point of view — Unless you're secretly some kind of god—which you're clearly not, given your pathetic state—this makes no sense. You're an anomaly, plain and simple.}
{And since yours core is not connected to world core that's why your transmigration was possible.}
Caspian's mind raced.
An anomaly... that's what he had read in many novels about certain rare existences.
But this? This didn't match any of the stories.
An unconnected core... no attunement to the world core... how the hell am I even alive?
"I'm not a god," he muttered, half to himself.
"But anomalies tend to be important in stories like this, don't they?"
The sword groaned, as if tired of dealing with him already.
{Not when they're utterly useless, like you.}
"Wonderful," Caspian deadpanned.
"Just my luck."
.
Caspian staggered out of the cave, exhaustion weighing him down.
He had entered full of hope and purpose, but now he was leaving with a talking sword and a thousand more questions than answers.
"Well, this is depressing," Caspian muttered.
The sword vibrated lightly in his hand.
{Oh, cheer up, Caspian. At least you have me now. And by the way, have you decided what to call me? You can't just keep calling me 'sword.' It's rude.}
Caspian groaned. "Fine. How about... Dragon black sword? Since you are mostly black,"
{Shut up}
"Let's go with Bloodmoon then," Caspian said.
The sword hummed in approval.
{I like it. Has a nice ring to it. Bloodmoon, the greatest weapon in existence. Rolls right off the tongue.}
Rolling his eyes, Caspian muttered,
"Greatest weapon, my ass."
Bloodmoon dissolved into his hand, a warm glow briefly pulsing across his palm before disappearing.
{That's better,}
{Much easier to carry this way. So, Caspian, let's talk bloodlines. What's yours?}
Caspian sighed.
"I haven't awakened yet. I'm only nine, and bloodlines usually awaken after you turn eleven."
{What are you talking about?}
{That rule applies to people connected to the world core. You're not. Given your mental age and unique situation, you might have already awakened it without knowing.}
Caspian froze mid-step.
"What are you saying?"
Before Bloodmoon could respond, a glowing window appeared in front of Caspian, nearly causing him to trip.

He screamed as symbols etched themselves into his skin, glowing fiercely before vanishing.
