Chapter 2: Chapter 2: A Curious Encounter
As he walked toward the village, Haruto suddenly realized he was still naked. Embarrassment surged through him. He couldn't show up like this. Stopping in his tracks, he opened his system panel, searching for a solution. After some thought, he purchased a set of civilian clothes for 10 points.
Dressed modestly, he felt a little more comfortable. But one pressing question lingered: how could he earn more faith points? Focusing on the points section in his stats panel, a small pop-up appeared:

Sources of Faith Points:
Praise and admiration
Respect
Love
Prayers

Unfortunately, he had no clue how much these actions would yield or how to inspire them.
As he approached within a kilometer of the village, doubt crept in. What if there were bandits or ninjas? This was, after all, the chaotic world of Naruto, where dreams could be crushed in an instant. He couldn't afford to waste this opportunity. Opting for caution, he spent 30 points to gather more information about the village.
Detailed intel appeared before his eyes. As expected, it was an ordinary village. The residents, mostly civilians, relied on farming and hunting. The village was known for producing deer leather bags and gloves, popular among the region's nobles. The only notable figure was the village chief, a man in his fifties. Once a student at the Konoha Academy, he had failed to graduate as a genin and still hadn't succeeded, even after years of effort. Becoming a ninja, it seemed, wasn't for everyone.
Feeling reassured, Haruto concluded there wasn't much to fear—except perhaps the village chief. For now, he decided to avoid him. Unsure whether the man could detect or resist hypnosis, Haruto opted to head to a house on the village's outskirts. According to his intel, it belonged to a hunter who lived with his wife and daughter. The hunter was known to be welcoming and well-liked.
Arriving at the house, Haruto took a deep breath and knocked softly. The door opened to reveal a stunning woman whose beauty left him momentarily speechless. A faint, sinister smile crossed his lips as their eyes met.
"Not a bad start," he murmured.
The woman, surprised to see a stranger, widened her eyes slightly before composing herself.
"Good evening. Who are you?" she asked, her tone wary.
Snapping out of his daze, Haruto quickly straightened. He cleared his throat, trying to control his wandering eyes. This opportunity was too important to mess up.
"I'm... a traveling doctor. I was hoping to rest here for the night in exchange for this rabbit and a free consultation," he said, trying to sound calm and casual.
"A doctor, you say..." The woman scrutinized him for a moment, her expression doubtful. "I'd love to help, but I can't without consulting my husband. He's not here right now. See that house in the center?" she said, pointing. "That's the village chief's home. He'll probably let you stay, and his son isn't very healthy, so I'm sure he'd appreciate your services."
The last place Haruto wanted to go was the chief's house. "Well, you leave me no choice," he muttered under his breath as he activated hypnosis, locking eyes with the woman.
"Absolute Hypnosis."

"Damn, I didn't think this would be so expensive," he muttered, his eyes tearing up. Nevertheless, he selected Minor Hypnosis. The woman's eyes became slightly glazed.
"Listen to me carefully. I am a great traveling doctor who was robbed of all his money. You have no doubt about this. Because you are kind-hearted, you'll convince your husband and daughter to let me stay here as long as possible. In return, I'll examine you for free. But don't mention me to anyone except your family." He smiled nervously, unsure if Minor Hypnosis would suffice.
"You're a great doctor who was robbed... I believe you... And since I'm kind-hearted, I'll do everything I can to host you as long as possible... We'll get free examinations in return... Er, I mustn't tell anyone else," she repeated in a trance-like state.
"That's right." Suddenly, her eyes regained clarity.
"Welcome to our home. My name is Hana. My husband isn't back yet, but you can come in," she said, stepping aside and opening the door.
Haruto entered the modest house. It was a simple space with sturdy, well-worn wooden furniture. A large fireplace crackled softly in one corner, and the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air.
"Don't worry, Mr...?" Hana asked, looking at him expectantly.
"Haruto," he replied.
"Mr. Haruto, my husband should be home soon. Don't worry; I'll speak to him about letting you stay. Please, have a seat. I'll take care of the rest."
Taking the rabbit from his hands, Hana headed to the kitchen. Haruto sank into a chair at the dining table, his eyes scanning the room. He needed to conserve his faith points until he could secure a steady source of income.
Feeling slightly uneasy, he decided to break the silence. Approaching the kitchen doorway, he hesitated before asking:
"Your husband... he hunts a lot, doesn't he?"
Hana, focused on skinning the rabbit, answered without turning around.
"Yes, Hiroshi goes out almost daily. He loves exploring the forest and bringing back game. But it's been harder lately—fewer deer in the woods, and winter's coming." She sighed softly. "I think he worries about us. He wants to make sure we're well-provided for, but sometimes, I wish he'd rest a little."
Haruto nodded, trying to maintain the conversation.
"And your daughter? She helps out, I'm sure?" he asked with a casual smile.
Hana paused briefly, gathering her thoughts.
"Aiko? Yes, she's very capable. She loves helping her father. She just turned sixteen and is old enough to marry... but her fiancé is gravely ill. She's been staying with him to support him. You know, he's the chief's son—the one with the frail constitution."
Haruto stored the information carefully in his mind.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door. Hana left the kitchen to answer it, smiling as she opened the door.
"Oh, you're back!" she said warmly to the man outside. "Come in, we have a guest."
Haruto tensed as the hunter stepped inside. When the man saw the stranger sitting at his dining table, his face registered surprise.
"Who's this?" the hunter asked, his gaze sharp as it lingered on Haruto. "Not someone from the village."
