Goku arrives at Roshi's island with the help of Turtle once there he sees a bald headed kid dressed in a yellow outfit with six dots on his head he looks at master Roshi then asks do you know what the dots are for Roshi says he's from the Orin temple they represent the virtues of martial arts goku nods the boy says my name is Krillin he says i traveled all this way to be a good warrior just like you Roshi asks why couldn't you have become one where you were Krillin says none of the teachers or other students would teach me anything i had to sneak out at night and train myself.
goku looks at Roshi then Krillin then says he was being vullied by the students and ignored by the teachers Krillin asks how do you know goku says because i can smell it on you Krillin says ok then they pack up his house move to a bigger island Roshi says the first thing that i will have you both do is test your speed he takes a stick goes a mile away from them draws a line in the dirt pulls out a stop watch then says Krillin you go first Krillin rushes over there he passes over the line almost out of breath Roshi stops the watch then says not bad 7 minutes flat he says Goku you're next goku runs down to them in a blur of speed Roshi stops the watch then whistles impressed 1 minute flat Krillin falls over in shock then asks how did you do that.
Goku points to Roshi's turtle shell then says for a few months i too wore a trutle shell on my back like our master does Roshi asks what happened to yours Goku says i gave it to Yamcha as punishment for being a bandit Roshi chuckles at that Roshi says it's getting too late for the exercise i was going to have you two do so we'll do that in the morning as i still need to set it up goku asks does that mean that i can cook dinner Roshi asks do you know how to cook goku says just simple stuff like meat potatoes carrots rice and soup Roshi says i'll cook besides i have a task for you two anyway he writes his symobl on a rock then throws it in the forest below.
He tells them the first one to get the stone will get dinner the one that doesn't goes without Goku gets a whiff of Roshi's scent then jumps off the ledge after the rock Krillin takes the long way down Roshi sets up the milk delivery schedule and route for tomorrow as well as for the next year he even does the same for gardening construction landscaping and the two karate and kungfu dojo's after 6 months of training he arranges for Krillin to train in Karate and Goku kungfu ironically both of these dojo's are under the Turtle school once both styles have been combined you will have learned the turtle style.
The karate is the offensive half the kungfu is the defensive half together they make a formidible style goku and krillin spend a few hours tracking down that raock goku finds it first Krillin is out of breath but Goku makes it back to the house before Krillin does with the rock instead of the fakes that Krillin tried to pass off after dinner goku fed Krillin even though he failed the next morning Roshi says to get you guys used to it i'm giving you two these stylish 100 pound turtle shells both are pink they put them on he says now we are going to deliver milk for the first few miles.
He once they arrive at the last house he refills their crates then says we are going to zig zag through these trees they do as told he looks at Krillin and says any thought of cheating and you start all over from where we first started this morning Krillin gulps then does as he's told after that they approach some stairs they walk up them deliver a bottle then walk through the desert run from a dinosaur and deliver the last bottle for the day Roshi seeing that it's 10:30am says rest then we will do some more training he takes them to a field has them do it by hand once they complete it the time is noon they wash up have lunch learn various subjects.
Nap for an hour he takes them to a construction site gives them shovels pickaxes wheel barrows rollers and hardhats as well as several other tools that the foreman will let them use once they get told what they will be doing they get started they break rocks shovel dirt roll the dirt down for a road clear debris away using their hands and destroy houses that are run down using nothing but hammers once they finish they head to various other things for the day Roshi puts them through the wringer for the six months at Mount Paozu Ox King is doing the same with Yamcha he's making Yamcha build their home by himself by fowllowing the directions and lift as well as squat logs while wearing a 50 pound turtle shell.
Also he's learning everything goku did as is chichi but at a much slower rate as he wants her to become much stronger than him and Yamcha also she is wearing training weights but only 10 pounds except she's wearing them on her limbs as well as her torso and Ox king is also educating her in school as well as there is books there from every subject from K-12 Ox king sees that gohan meant to teach goku this stuff but never got the time because he died mostly Ox king is tutoring himself and Chichi in school stuff.
in between tutoring Chichi he's also teaching her what Yamcha is training in Karate speed strength mastering his senses and how to detect good and evil goku still struggles with this last technique but he mastered the others atleast that's what's written the day Gohan died Yamcha goes to Ox King he shows him the technique Ox King says i know it but it's not an easy one to use or teach even with Gohan telling us how to use it this is the hardest technique that we were taught he says even using energy is easier than this.
Yamcha asks is that why even Goku struggled with it Ox king says yes even Master Roshi's master struggled with it and he created the technique Yamcha gulps then asks what should i focus on instead Ox king says don't abandon it entirely Yamcha says i'm not but i only have 6 months left and i don't think that i'll master it in time for the tournament Ox King nods then says well you could always practice that wolf fang fist of yours and instead of it being a last resort you could make it a finishing move that you can control Yamcha nods Ox king takes off Yamcha's turtle shell weighs it on a scale he has it's 50 pounds he puts 50 pounds on Yamcha's wrist and ankles.
Ox King says now run around until you get used to the weight then practice your technique Yamcha nods for a month Yamcha got used to the new weight on his limbs and no weight on his torso then spent the rest of the time practicing his karate against an old friend of Ox King's a wooden fighter that could use the turtle style and was indestructible at least with hand to hand combat so Yamcha spent the next 5 months sparring against it meanwhile Krillin and goku are traning in their respective styles for the rest of the year free of all weight to get used to their new speed and to learn how to control their new strength.
Once the year is over goku is given the flying Nimbus by Roshi Krillin is given a blue suit and they are on an airplane headed to the tournament Goku heads towards the house to get the dragon radar he got as a gift from Bulma then he notices that one place to the north already has them so he heads there he gets on the Nimbus heading to where the dragon ball is he flies there for a few hours he arrives at a snowy area and sees a red stone tower with guns on it not wanting to keep being cold he goes to the front door kicks it down then rushes inside beats up everyone he sees and keeps doing that floor by floor until he sees a huge man that has red hair and sun glasses after fighting him for awhile he sees that he's a robot of some kind he puts him in a capsule after putting a massive hole in him.
After that he fights someone called ninja Murasaki on the next floor then lets someone called Android 8 go free he's given the dragon ball after that he destroys the tower with bombs then heads to the next dragon ball which takes him to penguin village and major blue goku beats him easy in fact he collects almost all of the dragon balls and beats almost all of the red ribbon army all that is left is the main base Dr Gero has long since abndoned the army for his own plans once Goku arrives at the base he beats everyone there the last person to fight is mercenary Tao they trade blows for awhile Tao is impressed with his fighting skills but not enough to take it easy or spare his life so he throws a grenade goku kicks it back at him making it explode in his face.
Once done goku takes the dragon balls as well as the last one he picks up from Bulma to a place he heard about from master Roshi one night Goku takes a dyno cap puts on his 100 pound turtle shell as well as 100 pounds of weights on each limb then climbs the tower both Upa and Bora sigh at this child's anticts while Goku is climbing Korin and Kami can't believe what they are seeing that someone would intentially make it harder for themselves while goku is doing this Krillin and Yamcha are taking part in the preliminaries of the martial arts tournament as is Master Roshi but he is disguised as Jackie chun.
in a few hours they all made it and instead of Goku making it to the final round because he didn't compete King Choppa made it to the final round also the first match is ghiran VS Bactearn the second match is Jackie Chun VS Ranfan the third match is Krillin VS Yamcha the fourth match is Nam VS King Choppa Ghiran and Bactearn go to the ring first everyone can't believe the smell coming off of him the announcer says he hasn't taken a bath since the day he was born most opponents can only fight with one hand so they don't pass out everyone feels annoyed and a little sick to their stomach at that.
Both Ghiran and Bactearn fight and it ends up being a double knock out the next match is Jackie Chun VS Ranfan they fight for awhile before he knocks her out of the ring the next match is Krillin vs Yamcha both come to the ring they exchange blows rather quickly and it becomes clear that both are practicioners of karate but one is vastly superior to the other Bulma is cheering for both she's also spying on them for goku Yamcha ends up winning the match by ring out the next match is Nam Vs King Choppa their fight is similar to Krillin's and Yamcha's except nam make's a mistake he does his ariel attack and King Choppa kicks him out of the ring.
Now it's only down to 3 competitors instead of three seperate matches they decide to have the three finalists fight all at once in the ring which makes eveyone more excited but have a 30 minute intermission so the fighters can rest and everyone can get their snacks and go to the bathroom 30 minutes later everyone is back and the three fighters are in the ring Yamcha tells Jackie chun if it's alright with you i'd like you to sit this one out for awhile i've always wanted to fight King Choppa since i was a boy first learning martial arts.
Jackie chun chuckles then says i understand i was the same way when i was your age he says i don't mind stepping aside so you can truly test your skills Yamcha says i'm sure that you're a master or better but i've never heard of you before and i don't want to risk hurting you when you may have gotten lucky just because you didn't let Ranfan seduce you like she does everyone Jackie chun says i know that she does so in every fight and in some fights she even takes her clothes off then knocks her opponents out he says at my age i could handle that but getting kicked down there after her assualt isn't something i can handle both men chucle at that.
King choppa sees the symbol on Yamcha's chest then says i remember your master good fighter horrible person Yamcha says i know he was Ranfan's father he left her mother to go drink womanize and gamble it was i who ran his dojo while he was passed out and i who taught everyone how to fight when he was too drunk which was 3 days a week then 2 days a week he was running away from creditors the other days he was either running away from women or trying to get money for the dojo but sometimes he would train us and Ranfan's mother trained her daughter in how to fight also to hate men and to use men to various ends Ranfan defends herself by saying that's not true i only use men to go shopping for me and to defend me if i can't fight off would be attackers.
King choppa rushes at Yamcha he launches at King choppa they exchange blows for awhile but you can clearly tell that King Choppa is superior at least in skill and has more fighting techniques but it's obvious that they are almost equal in speed and strength King Choppa is only 2 times faster and stronger even Krillin can tell that if not for the short time that the tournament happened both him and Yamcha would have gotten farther than this Yamcha loses by ring out as does King Choppa making Jackie Chun the winner.
Meanwhile as Jackie Chun or master Roshi is celebrating his win goku is climbing Korrin's tower he makes it to the top in a few days then rests after that he spends the next 6 months completing all of Korrin's training after that he takes his power pole then goes to Kami's look out but Korrin took the dragon balls from him and scattered them across the world except for the 4 star ball goku was allowed to keep that one with him once up there Goku can't believe his eyes at what he's seeing a massive white circle thing with a massive building.
once he starts walking he finds it hard to breathe after awhile then he comes across a black man in red yellow and white clothes he says hello Goku my name is Mr Popo i'm Kami's assistant also the person who will be responsible for your training while you're up here Goku nods then asks will i have enough time for the next tournament Mr Popo says yes we will two and a half years ought to be enough time to cover what i want to teach you also the fact that you're wearing weights greatly helps us he tells goku this training won't be easy and might kill you Goku smirks then nods.
Meanwhile Bulma finally figured out what the aretfacts were and what they did once she did she rushed over to Ox King's place then went to the young 11 year old Chichi she asks do you want the same powers as what goku Yamcha and everyone else will get or remain a regular human for the rest of your life Chichi asks what do you mean Bulma says i can give us energy make us faster make our skin tougher and make us smarter but it comes with a cost she asks what's the cost Bulma says we will never be able to marry any normal human men or have their children only those that have powers like us Chichi asks what if we are taken against our will bulma says even if they have powers like us we will be able to choose if we want their kids or not.
Chichi says do it Bulma does the ritual on the two of them giving them what she said once it's done bulma says now remember this power isn't all powerful and you won't have it right away you'll have to awaken it just like everyone else but now your power is stronger than it would have been otherwise Bulma says i can make one more person like us but that's it Bulma is about to head home but the Ox King was listening and says Bulma i can help you unlock your power she asks really he says yes he says i can even teach you how to fight like i did Yamcha in fact his Turtle shell his still here Bulma says let's do it.
He also puts 50 pounds on her limbs then trains her like Yamcha did except for 2 and a half years also Yamcha is with Krillin and Master Roshi training for the same time doing the same training routine as before but without Goku and with heavier weights they spent the first year getting used to the routine with the heavy weights then the next two years will be learning from both dojos 6 months at a time meanwhile Goku is being put through the exact same training he was in the canon timeline when he was training for Piccolo junior except he finishes it in 2 years time.
Goku spends the last 6 months training in how to use the Ikari form so far he's been able to go into to it without the complete full moon but with a regular moon but still can't control at all but each night there's a moon he's getting better at it until 3 months in he get's the hang of it and is able to hold onto the form for an entire night then he's able to transform into it during the day once he gets the hang of it once he gets a better hang of it he's able to push it purther instead of having it drain him constantly he's able to use it without being comepletly exhausted but nowhere ready for combat.
Mr Popo beats him everytime when he uses the Ikari form despite the benefits it has several drawbacks and it's not practical plus it's too demanding to use more than 10 minutes without backup also it makes goku's energy supply run dry very quickly it also tires Goku out luckily there's 3 months left to make it to the tournament once Goku has rested he gets on the Nimbus and heads for the tournament little did he know that this tournament would change everything.
