Chapter 74: Unknown Helper
Back on Ultoria Tristan stood still while the massive behemoths surrounded him.
Tristan noted that these behemoths were 10 times smaller than the one he saw earlier, so he began to panic.
His eyes shifted about, his derate plee for any possible escape evident.
In his periphery he caught something shifting about near a massive hole in the tree's root.
Upon looking closer he noted the creature's appearance, it was small yet it stood upright it's dark purple skin gave off a dull radiance.
As Tristan met its green eyes he saw a flicker of an intelligent gleam which startled him.
The dwarf sized creature stared blankly for a moment then gestured as if calling him over.
Now he had to decide, to go or not to go, though these things weren't attacking him, he didn't feel safe, he felt as if something bad would happen at any moment.
Gritting his teeth he made his move.
His safest bet was that tree root, so without any hesitation he dashed towards the area.
His footwork was displayed to a terrifying extent but with a loud cry one of the behemoths attacked.
The air flowed in reverse as its fist came in; he positioned himself quickly, and angled his sword.
Sparks flew and with a wang noise the monster's fist slammed into the ground sending Tristan flying.
But luck seemed to have played on his side as he landed somewhere near the entrance but unlucky enough not to land at the entrance.
Before he could get up the fine hairs near his left stood on end, but it was as if his body was of springs.
He bounced off the ground and dashed towards the opening in the root.
Boom!
The earth exploded and a surge of a heavy gust of wind came with it pushing him forward.
This random burst of air threw him off completely and he slammed his head at the roots entrance.
Another behemoth rushed over in a frenzy, but a blue hand with long black nails grabbed onto Tristan's shirt and pulled him in without a sound.
A minute later Tristan woke up his head throbbing with pain, as his vision adjusted a purple thing suddenly appeared.
His soul almost escaped his mouth, but the thing pushed it down and with its free arm raised a bowl with an odd substance inside.
He instinctively closed his mouth but the little purple humanoid forcefully opened his mouth and started to pour that thick and oddly colored substance into his mouth.
The strange liquid slid down his throat and his face immediately contorted with disgust.
He unconsciously swallowed but began to cough violently.
His head throbbed with each jerk which caused immense pain and discomfort.
After this series of violent coughing he leaned back, his mind a mess.
Crackle crackle
The sound of a bond fire could be heard and his eyes cracked open to see a small yet blue humanoid sitting next to it.
He was a bit confused but decided not to do anything too drastic.
The blue humanoid felt Tristan's gaze and turned to look at him, its ugly face let out a pleasant smile which caused a chill to run down Tristan's spine.
After sometime the fire became faint but before the fire was extinguished the blue humanoid picked a long stick with some black paste on the tip.
It then placed it into the fading flames and it gradually ignited.
Tristan's nose twitched due to a funny smell but it disappeared shortly thereafter.
The blue humanoid thing waved at Tristan as if telling him to follow, he was cautious but curious so he got up to follow.
Thump.
He slammed his head as soon as he tried to stand upright.
Khhhkhkhkh
The blue thing laughed then began to walk forward, embarrassed and angry he began to follow.
The blue humanoid moved quickly but despite the illumination they could only see a few meters in front.
From time to time he would knock on various locations as if to check for something.
Cracha.
Tristan who was hunched like a dog in heat stepped on one of those somewhat hollow points.
The blue humanoid looked at him, its non-existent eyebrows raising.
He didn't know why but he felt as though that thing was looking down at him.
With an embarrassed expression he pulled himself out his clothing unharmed.
Thoe Tristan was embarrassed it wasn't his fault, the small blue humanoid was light and those somewhat hollow spots were absysafe for it.
So now with extra caution the blue humanoid moved slowly, carefully knocking on certain areas.
Their speed halved but it was not for long because as they passed through an area where the roots were severely damaged they encountered the main root system.
A myriad of paths converged at this point but the small blue humanoid moved to the right without even blinking.
Tristan had formed a form of reliance bond with this small blue humanoid by now so without thought he followed.
As they rushed through, it became darker and darker the only thing they could see now was the torch lighting foot ahead.
Suddenly the blue humanoid stopped it then reached for a small pouch on its side.
Tristan had only just noticed it, as he looked on he saw the small blue humanoid take out a small round ball.
It squeezed the ball tightly then threw it gently into the darkness and a faint trail of smoke followed.
The small humanoid raised its hand while holding up three fingers.
3 2 1
Its fist clenched and it rushed off. Tristan followed closely behind
Boom!
An explosion which was then followed by a rush of foul smelling gas, the stench was unbearable but the point of this was revealed shortly thereafter.
Catatata cattatatsra.
The sound of a myriad moving insects could be heard.
Paff!
A cockroach the size of LeBrons foot landed on the side of his face, his stomach became upset immediately.
He hurriedly slapped it off and moved forward.
The little blue humanoid suddenly jumped forward and Tristan followed but slammed the back of his head then began to free fall.
He quickly recovered and flipped mid air, he watched as the fire flickered in their descent.
A whopping 5 minutes passed in the duo's descent, Tristan's expression right now wasn't so good.
But at this very instance the little blue humanoid swung the torch in its hand and something magical began to happen.
The fire broke apart into millions of tiny light particles, and with a pulling motion of the little blue humanoid the light dots turned purple.
It was then that thin strands of purple light stretched out and began to connect to other light particles, which formed an intricate web of light.
With a light yell of the little blue humanoid, the intricate web of light rushed up at them.
The duo who were now wrapped in the intricate web of light began to slow down at a rapid pace.
Soon enough the ground began to near; he instinctively braced himself for impact.
But contrary to expectations the duo only hovered a few feet above the ground.
Puff puff.
The duo landed on the ground safely, the little humanoid jumped up and started moving around as if it was nothing.
Tristan could only stare on in stunned silence, his brain trying real hard to recollect what happened.
The little purple humanoid walked over and stared down at him.
The two locked eyes and the thing smiled strangely then with a swift motion of its hand it hit Tristan's neck.
Knocking him out cold his vision went dark and he fell face first.
An unknown time later he began to gradually wake up.
