The Help Club President is a Demon Lord

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Healthy Incentives

"Damn that Vice President! I'll get him back for that humiliation."

Akuma stomped his way towards his classroom. On his way there, he came across Mimi. Their eyes met but she snubbed him and looked away. Akuma stopped walking while Mimi walked past him.

"So, what's for lunch later?"

"Deep fried pork cutlets with pickled radish. There is also a lot more. Although I fail to comprehend why you would ask that? It's not like you will have any of it."

Mimi stood behind Akuma without looking at him. Akuma put his hands on his pockets and looked up.

"Heh, when will you learn that I get want I want. Even if I have to use force."

"Please refrain from talking to me unless it is official club matters. And even if it is related to the club, kindly do not talk to me."

A female classmate of Mimi walked by the two of them.

"Good morning, Furui-san. What's with the intense mood? Did he confess to you and you rejected him? I heard him saying something about taking it by force. You are kind of hard to get, huh?"

The female student giggled. Mimi started walking away towards her classroom.

"He will not get his desires fulfilled in this lifetime."

"Wait up, Furui-san! Wow, you can be really harsh. Just reject him properly."

Mimi and her classmate went on their way. Akuma looked back and pointed at Mimi.

"Damn elf! Stop saying things that are easily misunderstood!"

---

Akuma arrived at his classroom. Only a few students were inside. Angelie was seated in her chair and was staring outside the window. Akuma stared for a brief moment, but before he could realize he was staring, Sanaka showed up behind his back.

"Why are you leering at Angelie-san? I thought you don't like each other?"

"What, no! I wasn't leering, w-what are you talking about? Huh?!"

"Oh, just messing with you."

Sanaka chuckled while going to her seat.

"It's just in the morning and I'm already tired…"

Akuma scratched the back of his head as he sat down.

More and more of their classmates arrived. After a while, their homeroom teacher arrived and every student sat down. He took attendance and then proceeded to make an announcement.

"Everyone, listen up. We will be having our annual physical and health checkup by the end of the month."

Some of the students in the class groaned.

"Hey, quiet down! I know you kids hate this kind of stuff, but this is for you. So, as an incentive to keep yourselves healthy, we will be handing out special points that will be added to your midterm scores."

Now most of the students cheered in unison.

"You have a few weeks to make yourselves as healthy and fit as possible. You all look like you need some exercise, especially you Jizen. You get sick easily."

Akuma hung his head and closed his eyes.

(Why am I being targeted by everyone this morning?! It's that damn Vice President's fault this all started!)

Afterwards, he lifted his head. He faced his teacher with a chilling, spine-tingling smile.

"Yes, Sensei. I will try to set an example for everyone."

"Ugh, ok then. That's all for homeroom."

Their homeroom teacher quickly got out of the room and slammed the door on his way out.

---

During lunchbreak, everyone from the Help club was eating together at the rooftop. They were all seated in a circular formation except Akuma. He was standing near the railings, resting his back on the metal bars. As usual, he was eating bread. This time it was curry bread. But his eyes were targeting the extravagant-looking bento tower of Mimi.

"So, Mimi-san, you heard about that health check-up we will be having at the end of the month?"

Angelie was eating from her lunch box using her chopsticks.

"Yes. I don't think I will be having any trouble with my health and fitness."

As she said that, she was eating alternately from the various entrees of her bento boxes.

"Eh, are you sure about that? I mean look at how you devour—"

Before Kiba could even finish, Sanaka covered his mouth, since she was seated beside him.

"There are some things that must not be spoken, Kiba-kun."

"Well, I'm glad you're not worried. But to be honest, I'm kind of worried about it."

Angelie put down her lunch box and placed the chopsticks on top of it. She then started to pinch her belly to see how much fat she could feel.

"See? I think I gained a lot of weight."

"I'm sure you have—"

Angelie quickly hit the shin of Akuma, who was standing behind her, with her closed fist.

"Our teacher said you were the one who needed to exercise. I don't need to hear anything from your sickly, pathetic being."

"Why, you—"

"If you feel worried about it, then I would not mind going on a diet together with you, Angelie-san."

Mimi stopped chewing her food and swallowed it. She then put down her chopsticks. There were still a lot of food left on the bento boxes, especially the deep-fried pork cutlets.

A glint flashed immediately from Akuma's eyes. It's as if a missile has locked onto its target. He quickly swooped in and took the bento box containing the pork cutlets.

"Then we wouldn't want these pork cutlets to go to waste. Since you're going on a diet, I'll finish it all."

Akuma opened his mouth extensively, raised the bento box with his arms and then dropped all the pork cutlets into his gaping mouth. He chewed them all quickly.

Mimi closed her eyes and let out a sigh.

"Here, finish all these side dishes as well."

She handed the bento box with the assorted side dishes including the pickled radish. Akuma's eyes widened at the sight of all these foods. He quickly took it and dumped the food on his mouth.

"Why did you give him all your food, Mimi-san?"

Angelie grabbed Mimi's shoulders and looked her in the eyes.

"We're on a diet, correct? I would not want my food to go to waste, so it is much better to let him have it. Even though I don't like the idea he is eating my deliciously prepared meals."

Tears started to well up on Angelie's eyes. She then hugged Mimi.

"Oh, Mimi-san! Thank you for your sacrifice!"

"Isn't this a bit over dramatic?"

Kiba was scratching his cheek with his finger.

"You have witnessed the bond between women that men will never understand."

Sanaka nodded her head while still continuing to eat her lunch.

"Aren't you supposed to be included in that bond between women? Why are you still eating—"

Sanaka quickly covered his mouth with her hand again.

"Shh! They might hear you and ask me to join them!"

"Sanaka-san, you will join us on our diet journey, right?"

Angelie looked at Sanaka with her teary and puppy dog eyes.

"Look at what you've done! They are pleading me to join them! How will you take responsibility? Huh?!"

Sanaka grabbed Kiba by the collar.

"Don't look at me. I have no idea about this bond between women."

Kiba avoided Sanaka's stare and raised both of his hands.

"No! I won't go on a diet! I don't need it! Don't make me do it!"

Sanaka took out her frustration by shaking Kiba by his collar.

---

After classes, they all met at the clubroom. Everyone sat down on their respective chairs. Akuma sat on the principal seat near the window. On his right was Angelie and beside her was Mimi. On Akuma's left side was Kiba and then Sanaka was beside him. Opposite Akuma across the table were the vacant chairs where guests can sit down. They all sat quietly for a while, just looking at each other.

"So, what now?"

Kiba was the one who broke the silence.

"It seems that all we can do is wait for someone to bring their concerns to us."

Mimi took out her notebook and opened it. She just stared at the blank pages.

"Hmm, how about we go around the school and ask people if they need help on something?"

Angelie clapped her hands while she floated her idea to the others.

"Rejected. Too much work."

Akuma slumped back on his chair while looking at the ceiling.

"Look, if we won't do anything, we'll just be known as the 'Stare at each other Club' and—"

As Angelie was protesting to Akuma, the door of the clubroom opened.

"Excuse me, is this the Help Club?"

A chubby male student wearing glasses stood at the door. Sanaka greeted him with a disinterested tone.

"Yep. You've come to the right place. Where all your troubles should end, but unfortunately, it's where it starts…"

"Um, maybe I got the wrong place—"

"No, no. You're in the right place! Please, take a seat."

Angelie stood up and hurriedly ushered the male student to sit down on the vacant chair.

"Um, I'd like to ask for your help… I'd like to know how to diet."

"Don't say that word in front of me! I hate that word!"

Sanaka slammed the table. She was seething at the unsuspecting student.
