SCENE 1: The Path to the Ancient Ruins
The journey through Aetheria's dense forests was silent, except for the crunch of leaves beneath their feet. Kai walked ahead, his thoughts still spinning from the power he'd unleashed and the scar he didn't understand.
Reika marched beside him, her hand firmly gripping the hilt of her sword. Her sharp gaze swept the surroundings, alert for any movement.
"So, what else haven't you told me about these ruins?" Kai asked Daisuke, who was trailing behind and struggling to drag his tool chest through the mud.
"I've told you everything I know," Daisuke sighed heavily. "It was once a sacred Ether shrine. It's said that ancient records about its power were kept there. If anyone can explain what happened to you, it's the traces of the past."
"What if those are just legends?" Kai snorted, skeptical.
Reika stopped abruptly, her voice quiet but firm: "Legends are often based on truth. I believe your scar is a mark of destiny, Kai."
Kai was about to respond when the treetops above them suddenly shifted. The wind howled, and an unnatural silence settled over the forest.
"Stop!" Reika shouted.
Everyone froze. Kai turned to her. "What?"
"Someone is following us."
SCENE 2: Ambush from the Shadows
Suddenly, a blast of dark energy shot through the air and struck a tree next to Daisuke. The trunk exploded into splinters.
"What the hell?!" Kai yelled.
Out of the shadows, five warriors in black leapt into view. A strange, dark aura swirled around their bodies—Zorak's dark Ether.
"We've found them," said one of the attackers, his face obscured by a mask, his voice raspy. "Lord Zorak wants you alive. Especially you, boy."
"Who are they?" Daisuke cried, ducking behind a tree.
"Zorak's Shadow Enforcers," Reika growled, unsheathing her sword. "They wield dark Ether."
One of the attackers appeared in front of her in an instant, slashing at her with twin daggers. Reika parried his strikes with a flurry of quick, precise movements. The sound of clashing steel rang through the forest.
Kai, however, was targeted by two of the warriors. The first one hurled a projectile of dark energy straight at him. "Watch out!" Daisuke screamed.
Kai instinctively raised his hand. The scar on his palm glowed blue, and a powerful shockwave of energy erupted from it, shattering the projectile in midair. The attackers paused, stunned.
"This is…" Kai muttered, staring at his hand.
"Don't just stand there, fight back!" Reika shouted as she struck down her opponent and turned to face another.
Kai clenched his fist, energy pulsing through his body. The second attacker lunged at him with a black blade. "You're finished!" the attacker roared.
Kai planted his foot into the ground and swung his fist. A wave of blue energy exploded from his body, sending the attacker flying several meters backward.
"Whoa, Kai!" Daisuke shouted from his hiding spot. "You didn't tell me you could do that!"
"I didn't know I could!" Kai replied, struggling to control the energy coursing through him.
SCENE 3: The Threat of Darkness
One of the attackers, clearly the group's leader, stepped forward. His aura was thicker and darker than the others'. "Your power does not belong to you, boy," the leader said in a chilling voice. "It belongs to Lord Zorak."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kai shouted back.
"It means it's only a matter of time before it consumes you…" The leader raised his hands, and dark flames began swirling around him. "Die with that knowledge."
The leader hurled a massive orb of dark energy straight at them.
"Run!" Reika screamed, grabbing Daisuke and pulling him to cover.
Kai stood his ground, the scar on his hand glowing brighter. All the energy in his body surged into his palm. "No, you won't!" he roared, slamming his hand into the ground.
A blue wall of energy erupted from the earth and collided with the dark orb. The explosion shook the forest, toppling trees all around them.
In the cloud of dust and smoke, Kai dropped to his knees, exhausted.
Reika emerged from cover, attacking the leader. "You won't take him!" she cried, striking him with a series of powerful sword swings. He blocked her attacks, but it was clear he was tiring.
"Retreat!" the leader snarled, furious. "This isn't over!"
In an instant, the remaining attackers vanished into a cloud of black mist.
SCENE 4: The Secret of the Scar
The forest grew quiet again, though the signs of destruction were all around them. Kai sat on the ground, trying to catch his breath. Reika approached, her sword still in hand.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"I think so," Kai replied, leaning on his arms. "But what's happening to me? That energy… how did I do this?"
Reika sighed. "That's Ether, Kai. You're special because you can wield it without training. That's incredibly rare."
"And what about them? What did it mean that Zorak wants me?"
Daisuke finally emerged from his hiding spot, brushing dust from his face. "The dark Ether Zorak uses is connected to the ancient spheres. Your scar isn't a coincidence. If Zorak thinks you're a threat, it means you have power he doesn't yet understand."
Kai stared at his hand. The scar looked calm now, but he could feel something pulsing beneath his skin.
"We need to reach those ruins," Reika said seriously. "If anything can give you answers, it's there. But now you know what we're up against—Zorak won't stop until he has you."
"Then let him come," Kai said quietly, clenching his fist. "I'll learn to control this power. And I'll stop him."
