Chapter 14: Part 14
Camilla had just got into her bed at 10pm when the door bell rung.
She groggily rubbed her eyes and made her way to the door, wondering who could be visiting at this hour.
When she opened it, she was surprised to see her sister, Regina, standing on the doorstep.
" Sis ?" Camilla called in exitement and hugged Regina.
" Welcome back from Town A.." Said Camilla.
" Thanks little sis …," Regina said, her voice tired but warm.
Camilla stepped aside, letting her sister in, a mixture of relief and concern in her eyes. " You didn't tell me you were coming here ?"
Regina beamed her face reflecting "I wanted to surprise you.."
" Ooh, I am so glad you are back. I missed you.." Said Camilla.
" Don't worry , I am back for good." Regina said.
" Really ?" Camilla asked not believing.
" Yes little sis, I will never leave you again ." Regina promised.

The following day, The mourning was still ongoing until Canary's expression suddenly changed on seeing a familiar face.
" Regina?" Canary finally asked, his voice betraying his surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Regina gave a soft smile and walked closer to him.
Canary couldn't believe that it was really Regina. She was his first love and the woman who truly loved but Regina had cheated on him in thinking that Canary had also slept with another woman.
Canary had been broken ever since then and had decided to become a player not until he met Lisa again and truly fell for her.
"I heard about your father," Regina replied, her voice gentle but firm. "I felt it was right to come, to offer my condolences." She spoke confidently.
" How did you know my father, And…How did you know I was here ?" He asked.
" Canary, Your Group is known worldwide. I saw you half a year ago when you won the pearls show. I was actually surprised that you were all along a son to Mr Alexander Andersons." She said.
Canaru kept silent not believing her
" We may have our past, but… I still care about what happens to you."
Canary's eyes softened. Despite the complications of their past, her words, spoken with sincerity, brought some comfort.
But the strange mix of emotions left him unsettled. He had not expected to see her.
As Canary and Regina exchanged words, Lucy, who had been greeting other mourners, caught sight of Regina standing by the window.
Regina was new Lucy to her face but she couldn't help but notice the striking beauty of the woman—elegant, poised, and radiating a quiet strength.
Curious, Lucy made her way over, offering a warm, polite smile.
Canary saw him mother walking to them and looked at her.
"I don't think we've met," she said gently.
" Oh, She is Regina."
" Regina, That's my mother." Canary introduced them.
Regina put a smile and said.
" Greetings Mrs Anderson. I am Regina. Sorry for the loss.I heard about your husband's passing. I wanted to pay my respects."
Lucy studied Regina for a moment, her instincts telling her there was something more beneath the surface, but she said nothing. "Thank you. It's kind of you to come."
The two women exchanged pleasantries, and Lucy, still intrigued by Regina's beauty and presence, continued their conversation, unaware of the deeper connection Regina had with her son.
Lucy was suddenly interrupted with other guests which made her to excuse herself. Regina also went to pay off her respects and after that she left.
After that Regina went back to the apartment and she was surprised to find Camilla there. It was just 2pm still working time.
" Thought you had gone for work." Regina said as she sat down.
" No, I didn't go today." Camilla responded.
"Why didn't you go to work today?" Regina asked, setting her bag down. "Everything okay?"
Camilla glanced up, a bit surprised by the question. "The company's closed for the day," she replied quietly. "They've suspended operations due to the CEO's death."
Regina's brows furrowed in confusion. "CEO? You mean… Alexander Andersons?"
Camilla nodded, her expression softening. "Yes. I didn't think you knew, but I work for Andersons Group."
Regina stared at her sister, her surprise evident. "I had no idea," she admitted. "You never mentioned it."
Camilla shrugged slightly, her tone casual. "It never really came up. But with everything going on, I thought it was important you knew."
Regina was silent for a moment, processing the information.
The connection between her sister and Canary's family felt heavier now, as she recalled the awkwardness she'd felt earlier when seeing Canary at the mourning.
' If my sister works in Andersons, Then this might be a chance for me to get closer to Canary..'
Regina thought and cleared her throat.
"So, you work at Andersons Group," Regina said casually, her mind working. "Maybe I could try to get a job there too."
Camilla raised an eyebrow, surprised by the suggestion. "You want to work at Andersons?"
Regina shrugged, a hint of determination in her eyes.
"Why not? It could be a good opportunity, especially with everything going on right now. I've always been interested in what they do. Maybe I could find a place there."
Camilla studied her sister, sensing there was more behind the idea than just job interest. "I'm sure they'd hire you if you're serious. But why now? What's behind this sudden interest?"
Regina smiled, her tone light but with a subtle edge. "Sometimes, the right moment just presents itself. I think I'll give it a try."
" Alright, I will see if I can get something for you." Camilla promised.
