Chapter 3: Remembrance
Note was transmigrated into the body of a man. The surroundings were the same as those where he was just when the mysterious man appeared. Note was initially very alert, having the trauma of the pain of his death.
"Honey, are you ok? You look as pale as a ghost. Did something happen, or did you eat something bad?" A woman suddenly tapped behind Note and spoke in a worried tone.
Note notices the woman's deep blue eyes with her darker-than-night hair. His heart skipped a beat and instantly became disturbed by the fact that she was the other body that was mutilated beyond recognition.
"Oh, nothing, I am fine; it's just that I am daydreaming. I think we should go on a trip. Yes, let's get out of here. Note frantically urged the woman while looking around as if someone was hunting him.
After frantically walking through the house, he saw a small mirror and the reflection of himself. The first thing he noticed was the scar on the side of his cheek, making him look extremely masculine. The man's reddish hair caught Note's attention. Staring directly into his eyes, which, by every look, replayed those exact memories that Note had just experienced. Like in sync, the darker the memories became, the darker his eyes appeared, and the reflection of the memories could be visible in his eyes.
Four seconds later, Note regained consciousness. His eyes, once having a luster of youth, were now dulled, eyes that had experienced unimaginable pain. His wife was now starting to get scared by her husband's sudden action.
"Ah! Are you sure that you're fine? Do you want me to pray to the moon for you to get better?" The man's wife was trembling after seeing the sudden change in her husband's expression.
Note immediately realized that he would be in a horrific murder. The memories of him waking up in the stable made his body immediately run to the front door with his heightened perception of seeing the bedroom, restroom, and everything painted in a monotonous color spectrum.
Before any critical assessment of the situation, he immediately ran at the door, unlocked the three locks, and ran outside to find the stable he was just in. After running past the yellow-green grass until his body ran out of energy, he found the stable. Without wasting a second, he opened the door to see that everything was as he remembered. The horses were standing there, and the unicorn was in its center.
Entering the stable, Note felt a cold wind, making his body shiver. Each step he made created an echo, tensing his heart more and more. Every part of his body told him to go back, yet he was determined to see if his past body was resting.
The man's wife was running behind Note to stop him from going inside the barn. She also felt the chill, grabbing his hand to stop and to go back to their home. She is using her entire body to pull Note's hand to stop him from discovering her secret.
"Let's go back; I have dinner ready! Please, let's just go! If you leave, I will tell you why you can't see! So please, for the love of Crims, just believe me and let's go back!" The man's wife desperately tried to pull the man away.
After pulling against the man's wife, he managed to push her away, and he started running towards where he once woke up. He passed the unicorn. The eyes of his colors were the same as that of one of the crimson moons. The horse's colors became duller as it stared at Note as if it were seeing into his soul.
Note reached before opening the door of where he once rested while hearing the cries of pleading from his wife.
"Roi, please don't!!! If you open that door, you won't be forgiven!!!" The man's wife running behind like a madman while screaming combined with the echo alerted every horse in the stable.
Hhuun!!
Hhuun!!
Hhuun!!
The horses' collective noise echoing through the stable made Note open the door without a second thought.
There is nothing. How can that be? How did I appear here then? Did I just get transported?
A million thoughts raced through Notes' mind when he felt an earthquake causing him to stumble and fall into the ground.
Note immediately got up and ran outside to check what had happened, passing through the man's wife, who passed out from falling and hitting a stool. When he saw his worst nightmare. The mysterious man had once again appeared, carrying another body with him. The body was that of a young woman with short dark hair.
Note looked back to see the man's wife standing with the mask of a crescent moon, exposing only half of her face. She was the apparition of the god moon Crims. She is wearing the same outfit as the man. Note had no other option but to run away; he ran behind the barn while they were preparing the ingredients for the ritual to bring the moon god roms into the human realm.
Note then realizes he changed the man's fate, as it was destined for him to stay in the house and die at the hands of the mysterious man. Still confused about where the man's wife was when he was being killed, he would notice if there was another person, yet he could remember nothing.
After pondering for a while and arriving at nothing, he decided to peek and see what they were doing. Note saw that they were performing a ritual with the woman's body; after feeling disgusted, in the blink of an eye, the mysterious man appeared in an instant. A journey that took Note four minutes to run at his full capacity was reached by the man in less than one-half of a second. The mysterious man had a piece of skin hanging outside of his mouth. Staring at Note with those crazy bloodlust eyes from before.
Slurp
Note saw how the skin of the woman was eaten while staring Note in his eyes with no remorse for human lives. Note was taken back from this, where suddenly the man went back where he had been before, not before cutting a piece of Note's skin.
"Ah, shit, it hurts so much. I can't beat that monster. Am I really that pathetic that I can't do anything against anyone?" Note on the ground complaining about the pain and realizing how he might not leave this fate again.
Screech
The sounds of the opening of the barn doors pierced Note's ears. Covered by the dirt, Note saw a figure appear out of nowhere.
