Chapter 35: 35. The Story of Dracula
Chapter 35
It was lunchtime and as usual due to the huge amount of work, Walter was carrying a tray of lunch to Integra's office. Approaching the door, he knocked on it out of habit and entered without waiting for an answer.
- W-Walter? - Integra exclaimed, slightly panicked, stopping scratching my ears.
- Ahem, I'll come later. - Walter coughed and with a fleeting smile on his face, bowed slightly and began to leave.
"Wait, it's not like that…" however, the head of Helsing didn't have time to finish, because the butler had already closed the door.
"Why did you stop, nya?" I said drowsily, rubbing myself against the girl's stomach.
"Seras…" Integra said with a resigned sigh before she decisively grabbed me by the chest and lifted me up so that our faces were opposite each other.
- Inti, nya?
"Be quiet," Integra ordered before greedily biting my lips.
This kiss was quite aggressive and sloppy, we bumped teeth several times and I honestly completely stopped realizing what was going on, just responding to the kiss until a minute later I was pushed away.
- The plans for tomorrow are still in effect, go away. - Integra ordered, and if it weren't for her red cheeks and slight out of breath, it might have seemed as if nothing had just happened.
- Yes, nya. - I confirmed automatically and left the office with a completely empty head, I walked in this state until I reached my own bed.
"We kissed," came the first thought at last. "I purred like a cat!" followed by a second, no less astonishing one.
"She likes me!" - from this realization, I began to roll around on the bed like a teenage girl in love.
- Seras. - Alucard's stern voice suddenly sounded, making me freeze.
- Y-yes, master?
"You shouldn't get too attached to mortals," the ancient vampire said with sadness in his voice.
- Why?
-… About 100 years after becoming a vampire, there was a period when I was quite peaceful. – Alucard suddenly began to tell, capturing my attention. – Then, I, remaining in my castle, immersed myself in the study of Science. Unlike people, the church could not stop my progress with their nonsense about heresy and the like. My castle itself turned into a real art combining magic and technology.
- Stop, stop, stop. What do you mean magic?! - I immediately jumped up from such news.
- Ha-ha-ha, silly girl, how else do you think I was enslaved? With ordinary words?
- Holy shit, master, can you teach me magic? - I looked at the vampire with hope.
- No.
- But why? - I pouted.
- Because I am forbidden to teach this to anyone, many of Van Helsing's descendants have tried to circumvent this order, but have failed.
- It's a pity.
- Where did I stop, policewoman.
- Locked with magic and technology?
- Yes, exactly. I spent my days quite peacefully, for many years of madness I had enough stored blood to not think about such things for a long time, they even began to forget about me, until one day, a purposeful and impudent girl appeared on the threshold of my castle. She admired my achievements in alchemy and wanted to bring them to the world so that people would die less from diseases. It seemed interesting to me to teach her, so imperceptibly, I fell in love for the first time. Her name was Elena, we got along, at that time she managed to push me to the idea that, around the world, it is possible to gather various magicians, geniuses who would work for the advancement of science. Our connection was so strong that the impossible happened, she gave birth to a half-breed ...
I listened to Alucard's story, spellbound, trying not to make a sound so as not to ruin the mood. Although this story is suspiciously reminiscent of the plot of Castlevania.
After a short pause, the vampire darkened a little and continued.
- Alucard, that's what we called him, he got the best of both worlds, the strength of a vampire from me and a kind heart from his mother, while avoiding the weaknesses of vampires. As he grew older, he went on a journey to explore the world, and soon, when I was also going to go for a few months to meet a rather brilliant magician, Elena decided to start promoting alchemy to the masses. I asked her not to do it, at least until I returned, but she managed to convince me that everything would be fine. - Sadness appeared on the vampire's face.
- When I returned, her house was burned down. Not seeing any traces of blood or remains, I still had hope that she was alive, however... when I found her, she was already dead, burning on the fire of the Catholic Inquisition.
- Then I went mad and thirsted for death, both for everyone guilty of Elena's death and for my own, I washed that country with blood, until one day, in a moment of calm, three people came to my castle. A warrior, a sorceress and... my son.
- In the heat of battle, when I almost killed the girl, saving her, Alucard took the blow himself. Seeing how my own son dies from my hand, I fell into a stupor. Then Integra's ancestor drove a stake straight into my heart, and seeing that I did not die, together with the sorceress they were able to seal me, until one day they turned me into a slave who kills his own kind. I accepted a similar fate and in memory of my son, I took his name.
*sob-sob* - hearing a strange sound, Alucard looked at his chick, who was shedding bloody tears.
"You've been through so much, nya," I said, quickly wiping away my tears.
- Don't you dare pity me! - the vampire got angry. - Now do you understand why vampires and humans can't be together? Integra is fragile and can die at any moment leaving you alone, so you better forget about feelings for her!
- But, thanks to the talismans, she is already stronger than most vampires and has eternal life, and in the future I could bring her the water of immortality so that she, remaining human, would be immortal even without talismans, and if necessary, I can help her become an angel, so that even the church would not dare call her a monster.
"This is… absurd..." Alucard suddenly froze, realizing how different our situations were, and then, hanging his head, disappeared into the dark portal.
- Did I say something wrong? - I looked at the place where Alucard had just been, puzzled.
