The Scientist of Monster Creation, forcefully Hired

11. The Others Impression

-Perspective Layla-

She is impressive.

Thanks to Gustav, I could Commission a Monster by the Monster Creator Scientist…?
I don’t know her Name!
I have to ask her Next Time.

But the Woman, she is serious. Facing Robert, even saying she blacklists him, like he is only a delusional fool.
He is, but he is also a Lich. That she didn’t faint is something even some Dungeon Master fail to do.

And her Behaviour. Robert commissioned another Undead. She could admit her own shortcoming and even use it for Negotiation.
Or was it because I hurt his Pride? Anyway, she probably would have been able to get her Hands on it.
I can’t imagine how that Woman wouldn’t get what she really wants.

And Gustavs request. She didn’t take offence for him going to sleep. It was like she didn’t care, only the result matter.
Or maybe not even the Result. She really was indifferent to anything, wasn’t she?
It just makes her even scarier and impressive.

And how vague I said everything. She even had a look like she had an Idea how the first Word influences Magic Users.
Something Vague, but understanding. It was astonishing.
Everyone would always ask for more details or so. I can say that from experience, but why was she so relaxed.

Her Expression was always vague. Relaxed, Intriguing, Understanding or knowing, but never confused.
She kept an open Mind. I even believe she Understood the finer Nuance of our Benefits and Handicaps.

And creating Magic using Earth Monster. She took the Request head on.
No one can create Monster besides Undead and Elementals.
Undead are Always at least Dark affiliated, and it should only be Earth.
For Elementals, you need a high concentration of the Elemental Mana, no matter what.

But she didn’t seem to plan either.
Can she directly create Blueprints? Just how? But she needed Robert’s Blueprints.
Is that a prove for that, or negates the Theory? I don’t know myself how Undeads are Made, so I can’t say.

Wait, when she doesn’t know about Undeads, can she really help Robert?

So many Question, even my Own Request.
It’s ridiculous.

But she never Faltered. She was interested at most.
No one asked if she can do this, after seeing her expression when I commissioned such a ridiculous vague Monster.
Or rather, I and Robert didn’t. And Robert was set hard on ridiculing her.
Hurt his Pride or something to be a Lich who can’t make other Undeads.

But why is she so relaxed?
Ahh, my thoughts aren’t going anywhere!
I even derived from my original plan to think through it!

Lets gather what o can determine about her.

First: She can make fun of Everyone of us, even when we visible shouldn’t be someone to be mocked.
Second: Doesn’t fear Dungeon Master or other power position we were in.
Third: Is extremely composed, no matter what and/or able to do ridiculous things.
Fourth: She has a certain Presence. Robert can normally ignore retorts and blabber without end, Gustav would have giving her more Attention if she was worthy of a fight. Some kind of sixth Sense. That either means she is weak and just is that good in glaring and retorting to shut Robert up, or…
Fifth: Everything was weird there. In the Room, the Abacus and she herself. The Room was also rather dry.
When I have to say why, it would probably be a domain. Her Domain, and she is Ice or something similar affiliated.
She looked like someone who is. Don’t judge a Book by its cover and so, but she looked like some Ice mage or so.

The scariest part is, that she looked Human.
Only high ranking Monster can Polymorph, so either she is Human, who can casually disrespect us, or such a high ranking being that it stand above us. Monster should have an initiated sense of hierarchy, so she can’t rank the same or lower as us, especially since Robert doubles as Lich, he would be even More revered.

So, should I think of her as an Human who was chosen by God and got some benefits, or maybe…, I don’t know, ah Ice Dragon?
Only Ancient Ice Dragon and Yeti Kaisers would be high ranking enough, later not being sighted for 500 Years.
But why would there be a Human? To create Monster to kill other Humans and so on?
I can say that Humans are social Creature, who can be really weird sometimes. Would someone like that Create Monster?

Just what is she! Nothing quite fits!

-Roberts Perspective-

Mysterious.

She has Talent. Potential even.

But mostly untapped.

Her Mana reigned freely. Mages try to circulate it to maximise the Growth of Mana Capacity and Regeneration.

Even I do that.

But hers travels perfectly, without a Hand guiding it.

Or it was and she didn’t react on my probing on Purpose.

But giving the Chance, she would have trash talked me, wouldn’t she?

She had Snow Mana. Rare, and not special.

And fitting for sorcery, a great Potential.

But there were three other things, I couldn’t identify.

Its Mysterious.

But the most unsettling thing was the Sensation.

The whole Room was weird. It wasn’t a Domain, but similar.

There even was Mind Magic everywhere.

I thought of ignoring it, and mostly did.

But now, outside the Room, it was clear it affected me.

The Effect was subtle, not enough to worry about, but definitely there.

And it wasn’t subtle because of my Magic, but because the Magic should be subtle.

Most of my Defense was breached, without me even noticing.

Not impossible to defend. But when such vaguely cast Magic has that Effect, most likely because of the room, what else can she do with room?

She seems to have only Snow Affinity, the Mind Magic probably coming from a third source, so it isn’t that dangerous.

But I was already taken off guard by an unknown factor. What if she has another card up her sleeve?

I don’t plan on fighting her, but the tough of her being able to kill me is terrifying.

Since decades, this is the first time I thought, i could have died.

What even scarier is her Behaviour. She is ready to make Killing machine for Gold.

And she fear me.

Will she kill me at some Point just because?

She is unpredictable. She might not kill me ever, or at the first step I am at this room again.

-Gustavs Perspective-

Remarkable!

A calming Room, doesn’t hesitate or falters, and boldly declares such a Price.

Being wholly unfazed by us being us, but retorting where she can.

I look forward to the Monster she will make.

And she even advised Robert for the better, in a ridiculous mocking way!
As if she wants to ask if he is stupid or something!

If it isn’t for the calming effect, I probably would have laughed out loud.

I did, in fact. But after I returned to my Dungeon.

My instincts say that she is trustworthy.

Not in a Loyal way, but like a Merchant.

A Merchant wich will not get bribed or blinded you greed.

And someone loyal to himself.

I hope to have a private Conversation with her.

Many people say that I am to rough or blunt, but someone who can metaphorically spit the Skeleton in the Face and get straight to the point sound like someone who can handle that.

I am looking forward to it already.

Oh, but I still owe Layla for her Guidance.

I guess there won’t be a private Visit in the near Future.

And why do my legs hurt so much from sitting down?

It seriously worse then that time it kicked the Adama something shield Guy.

Uggh… still can’t get up.

Hey, Author her.

I wanted to bring everyone’s unique Character out in this Chapter.
Gustav, not being a Meathead, but being pretty rough. A good guy, at heart, who can be pretty perceptive.
Robert, not liking called by his Name, who is skilled, but loses sight of facts pretty quickly through arrogance, like thinking the unidentifiable Thing in her are not noteworthy, since something that he can’t identify isn’t worth is attention. Poor Guy, won’t know why his Skull looks so deformed.
And the scatterbrained Layla. She is smart, but jumps from one thing to another. She even messed up her Dungeon because she skipped a step in her Plan, a pretty vital one.
