Chapter 5: Class [2]
'Huh..?'
What did she say?
"Kim [---] Sugil?"
Kang Min-seo repeated, and the entire class fell silent, exchanging puzzled glances.
"Weird name…"
"Yeah, not very common…"
"Actually, it's just Kim Sugil, ma'am."
Everyone turned toward the voice—it was me, standing at the back of the classroom. But before speaking, I had put on the glasses from my bag.
'Looks like a total nerd.'
That's probably what they were all thinking, and honestly, I thought the same. Seriously, why did I put these glasses on?
Ms. Kang stared at me for a long minute before letting out a sigh.
"...Alright, you may sit down."
Her tone carried a sense of disappointment as if she couldn't believe that someone with such an unusual name could be just another unimpressive nerd.
And I couldn't help but wonder myself—what kind of name was this? It wasn't mine. I didn't remember having this [---] as an additional family name.
Could this be something the system added to make the story setting more consistent?
I quickly stopped speculating as, at that very moment, the classroom door slowly opened, drawing everyone's attention.
Standing there, with a confident smile, was Kim Sae-jin.
The class buzzed with murmurs, some students smiled, and even I couldn't help but grin. It was the second time I'd seen him in real life, and it still felt surreal.
The world of *Save The Humanity*—the towers, SERA, and the main characters were all real. And they were here, right in front of my eyes.
Now, the real question: how and why was I transported into this world? I needed to figure out how Mr. Justice managed to recreate the universe of *Save The Humanity*, but that wasn't the issue at hand. What was about to happen in the next few minutes would be far more intriguing.
"So you're the little punk who managed to get everyone's attention, huh?"
A cocky voice broke through the murmurs. Everyone turned to look, and it was Park Ha-joon. His feet were still propped on the desk, his sharp gaze fixed on Kim Sae-jin, who returned it with his signature confident smile.
The two stared at each other for a moment before one of them broke the silence.
"Excuse me, do we know each other?"
Kim Sae-jin asked casually.
"NO, WE DON'T, BUT I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF GUY YOU ARE!"
'Wow, what an idiot.'
I couldn't help but smirk at the ridiculous scene unfolding right in front of me.
Park Ha-joon then pointed directly at Kim Sae-jin, his face filled with determination.
"I'll prove you're nothing but trash like the rest, by beating the crap out of you!"
Kim Sae-jin chuckled.
"Well, I'd love to see you try."
"They're gonna fight?"
"Whoa... A second fight on the second day?"
Then, a powerful aura radiated from the teacher's desk, silencing the room. All eyes turned toward Ms. Kang, whose glare was burning with rage. Even Park Ha-joon and Kim Sae-jin stopped in their tracks.
'Heh, Kang Min-seo, a B-rank Hunter, shutting down an entire class with just her intimidation skill.'
Kim Sae-jin eventually sat down, and the only available seat was…
...next to me.
A tall boy with eyes that seemed alive yet bored, their brown hues almost golden, sat leaning his head on one hand in the back row, right beside—
Me. Not muscular, not too skinny, perfectly average, wearing oversized glasses that covered nearly my entire face. I still didn't know why I had put them on.
And that's where I was—sitting next to the main character of the story, trembling like some poser.
"Hey, you!"
Sae-jin's voice jolted me. Wait, was he talking to me?
"W-who, me?"
I stammered, pointing at myself nervously.
"Yes, you. I don't get it... Why are you acting all cocky? I don't bite, you know."
He spoke with that heroic grin of his.
"Oh, well… People are saying you're super strong and that you knocked out a huge guy in one hit so fast no one even saw it!"
I said, smiling confidently without realizing it.
Kim Sae-jin laughed, and my face flushed bright red.
Was this real? Did I just make the protagonist of the story laugh?
"Honestly, I didn't do anything that amazing. I just helped someone in trouble. It's what my grandfather taught me—to help those in need and protect people from the dangers of monsters."
"Woah…"
'I know, Sae-jin... I know everything about you—your tragic past, how you got your system at seven years old…'
"I just wanted to ask, since I wasn't here yesterday, could you tell me what I missed?"
He asked, but how was I supposed to know?! I'd just arrived in this world a few hours ago myself!
"Well… actually—"
But a high-pitched, feminine voice cut me off before I could finish.
"I know! If you want to catch up, I can tell you everything!"
We both turned toward the voice. A girl with dark purple hair, piercing red eyes, and an animated expression stood there. Her distinctive features made her instantly recognizable.
It was Seo Ah-jin, the most annoying female lead in the novel.
Suddenly, a golden window appeared before me:
