The story of the struggle in another world of the divine cat Mii-chan and the cat supplies summoner

chapter 64 - Divine Cat Mii-chan joins the siege against the bad guys.

64 Divine Cat Mii-chan joins the siege against the bad guys.

Yan’s story really tugs at the heartstrings. It’s a rough situation, especially with his mother being ill and only his earnings to support them. Adding to his hardship with this debt, it’s like adding insult to injury.

“Meow…”

Mii-chan climbs onto Yan’s shoulder and gives him a gentle nuzzle. It’s her way of offering comfort and support.

The town’s alarm bells are ringing, indicating that this is escalating into something major. The situation seems serious… though I can’t help but feel a bit anxious.

Since it will take a while for the hunters to gather, I’ve brought Sumire to the stables at the inn. She’s currently in high spirits, all fired up and ready to fight. Pelo mentioned that Sumire is eager to join the battle against the wrongdoers. I had to remind her to stay calm at the stables because if she caused chaos within the capital, I’d end up in jail. It’s just not worth the trouble.

Sumire reluctantly agreed to stay put, showing a bit of displeasure but also understanding the situation. It’s impressive how far she’s come from being in such a precarious state. It’s touching to see her grow so much. I’m truly proud, even though I might shed a tear or two.

“Meow~”

When we returned to the guild, I was stunned. There were at least three hundred people gathered. Jin was up on a platform with Yan, giving a rousing speech. The crowd was cheering and whistling in support.

“Meow!”

Mii-chan was equally enthusiastic, sticking her head and front paws out of the carrier and tapping it excitedly while cheering along. It seems like she’s fully committed to the cause!

It’s impressive how everyone’s rallying together for this cause. The plan to seal off the area and then question the local thugs to gather information is straightforward but effective. It sounds like Jin’s got a solid strategy in place.

Pelo’s appetite is as steadfast as ever! It’s good to see Mii-chan taking care of her friend with that skewered treat.

As for the OHANASI (interrogation) process, it’s a bit unnerving. It’s clear that the thugs are spilling the beans on what they know, and the way things are handled afterward is quite intense. The mention of people being taken away afterward is particularly chilling, but it’s important to stay focused on the mission.

“Meow…”

Mii-chan’s concerned about where the thugs are being taken.

“They don’t need to know that, right? Hehe,” I say with a nervous chuckle.

Pelo’s quick to remind me that she’s not just any cat and insists she’s not okay with it.

Jin’s intimidating presence is certainly leaving an impression, especially with his somewhat eerie self-satisfied grin. It’s all part of the process, but it’s definitely an intense situation.

I talked with many people, and one-third of them disappeared somewhere…

“Well then, I’ve gathered the information I needed. Let’s move in, shall we?”

Jin-san, leading a group of hunters, surrounded a certain building.

“Listen up! Inside are mafia and dark guild members. No need for mercy! Kill them before they kill you!”

“““Ooooh!”””

Jin-san is terrifying. Are we really going for an assault? It seems like we are…

“Stay here, young master. What are you going to do, big brother?”

Jin-san grinned. I guess I’ll go along! Since we’re in this deep, I’ll see it through to the end.

“I’m coming with you.”

“Meow.”

“Crime never prospers!”

“Well said! Don’t worry, they won’t lay a finger on you.”

And so, the assault began.

It was an impressive five-story building. While it couldn’t compare to the guilds in the royal capital, it was far superior to those in other towns.

Jin-san and we entered the building. The other hunters seemed to be heading for the upper floors. We could hear shouting and loud fighting noises.

Jin-san and I thoroughly searched the first floor. With Jin-san and Perro detecting presences, ambushes were nearly impossible. We took down the thugs one after another.

“Well, well. Looks like the kitty’s got some skills.”

“I’m not a kitty! I’m Night Perro!”

There was once a ninja-like figure who had hidden on the ceiling and suppressed their presence, but Mii-chan spotted and pointed them out, so we shot them down with an air cannon. Mii-chan did great!

“Meow.”

“That kitty of yours is impressive too. This one was quite the assassin. They didn’t even trigger my presence detection… Sorry about that.”

“Just as expected of the princess!”

Jin-san made sure to finish off the opponent. It was their own fault, so it couldn’t be helped…

It seemed that all the floors had been secured, but the crucial boss was missing. Actually, I had found the stairs leading underground using my map skill.

I informed Jin-san about the stairs in the food storage.

The hunters went down to check, but it was already empty. It seemed they noticed the commotion upstairs and fled without taking anything. According to the hunters, the underground path led to the royal capital’s drainage system. Unfortunately, they judged it impossible to track them and decided to return.

Besides the office-like room in the basement, there were also living quarters, a weapons and armor storage, and a library. The hunters eagerly took items from the living quarters and weapons storage. I wanted to say, “Are you thieves or something?” but since they said they didn’t need the library books, I had Mii-chan store all of them in her bag. Books are precious, after all.

The only thing left was the office. There was a box wrapped in paper on the desk. It might be the stolen goods, so I decided to recover it. I also collected everything from inside the desk and shelves. I found a small amount of gold and silver coins.

One of the hunters found a safe. According to my map skill, there was another suspicious spot, but I wasn’t sure how to open it.

“Nero? What’s up?”

“There’s something here, but I don’t know how to open it.”

Perro and Mii-chan were knocking and kicking at the wall, but it wasn’t making any difference. Just as I was about to call the hunters for help, Perro jumped onto what seemed like a lamp stand. The stand moved down with a creaking sound, revealing a safe at our feet. Nice work, Perro!

“Just as expected…?”

Perro-kun, was it just by chance?

“Mii.”
