The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 60 - Major Events

If Jiang Hui didn’t eat for a long time, she would feel particularly uncomfortable, even experiencing dizziness and weakness.

Last time, she was hungry and, thinking it would be too much trouble to find something to eat in the mental space, ended up fainting from hunger. The next day, when she woke up in reality, her head was throbbing painfully, and she felt as if she had been completely drained of energy.

Fortunately, after eating a piece of bread and taking a stabilizing medication, she felt better. Otherwise, in less than a month since she arrived in the interstellar realm, she would have probably ended up in the hospital for the third time.

Suppressing her strong hunger, Jiang Hui originally planned to spend some more time in the study. However, when she was tidying up the dishes, she was astonished to find something lying on the empty desk.

At first, she doubted her eyes, but after stepping closer, she realized it was indeed there: a miniature mecha model. Well, it was a mecha model missing both arms and a pile of scattered, unfinished parts.

Wasn’t this the mecha model she hadn’t finished assembling today?!

So, what criteria were used to determine what things were brought into this mental space?

Some things required thought, some seemed impossible to comprehend, while others just appeared without any effort on her part.

The more she observed this mental space, the stranger it seemed. Although it was said to be a manifestation of reality, it fundamentally contradicted scientific principles. Yet, if one were to claim it was a stream of consciousness rooted in idealism, it also included elements of reality and precision, adhering quite closely to scientific principles…

The vague and ambiguous rules left Jiang Hui somewhat baffled. So, she had to use this space more in order to grasp the entire set of its characteristics more accurately.

Jiang Hui picked up the miniature mecha model from the table and absentmindedly fiddled with it. Unexpectedly, when her gaze fell on the remaining parts beside it, a glimmer of light flashed in her eyes.

By the time the sun rose the next morning, Jiang Hui was no longer in bed; the covers were neatly folded, and the room was empty.

Looking around, she had already settled in the living room, browsing her holographic computer. On the table lay a perfectly assembled miniature mecha model, precisely the half-finished product she had brought back from the Dongbo Group branch yesterday.

It could no longer be called a half-finished product. Jiang Hui had completed the assembly of all the remaining parts. Its appearance was now indistinguishable from the one she had seen demonstrated by the teacher at the Dongbo Group—at least in terms of outward appearance.

It turned out that the Dongbo Group really provided a one-on-one model for participants to replicate experimental materials. Later, when Jiang Hui searched on her holographic computer, she found that similar miniature mecha models actually cost several thousand star coins. The Dongbo Group distributed a large package to each participant for free, which was indeed impressive.

She had discovered this item in the mental space last night and had hardly slept afterward, continuously fiddling with it.

Waking up after several hours of playing around, she assembled it and disassembled it repeatedly, using the methods she hadn’t utilized in the conference hall yesterday. She kept assembling until she left the mental space, still feeling somewhat unfulfilled.

Once she was back in reality, Jiang Hui remembered she had brought the miniature mecha model with her. She could directly study the real item, so she jumped up from the bed and headed to the living room to dig out things to study.

So, Jiang Hui had spent the entire night researching the miniature mecha model until this time.

To be honest, this thing was genuinely entertaining. No wonder interstellar people loved mechas so much. Even if it was just a toy model without any practical use or attack capability, it was still incredibly fun.

Jiang Hui had to suppress her impulse to order a bunch of mecha models online first and instead clicked on the news section for today. She hadn’t forgotten what happened yesterday at the Dongbo Group branch, and there still wasn’t any clear information about it. If it was something that shocked the planet, it should make the headlines today.

Although it no longer concerned her directly, the thrilling experience she went through yesterday made Jiang Hui somewhat anxious, so she specifically waited for the next day’s star report to check.

Sure enough, her intuition was correct; today’s Planet Daily was different from the usual. For a whole new planet, the area was quite large, and many events were happening. Even a brief mention of something significant would have some weight.

However, today’s headline seemed to be different from the usual. As soon as she clicked in, it was a complete section, and as she scrolled down a few times, she realized it seemed endless.

Upon taking another look, wasn’t the event just about what happened yesterday?

“Dongbo Group Discovers Imperial Traitors, Imperial Third Legion Deploys Multiple Teams for Urgent Arrest”

The following sections contained small analyses that expanded on the main headline, highlighting how significant this event was on their planet.

Wow… they actually mobilized the legion, and not just ordinary soldiers, but teams. Which influential figure among the rebels was causing this commotion?

Jiang Hui had only been in the interstellar realm for a short time, just over half a month. However, through her relentless efforts, she had made up for a lot of knowledge, supplemented by the remnants of the original’s common sense. She was now able to live in the interstellar world without any significant issues.

But she knew a bit more about military matters since both her father and mother were military personnel. She had grown up in such an environment and had picked up quite a bit of knowledge along the way.

For example, although the empire has hundreds of legions, the real strength of the empire lies within only nineteen elite legions. These belong to the highest standard of the empire’s official structure and enjoy better treatment and rights than soldiers of the same rank in other legions.

Jiang Hui’s parents were actually officers in the Eighth Legion. Their assignment to the border wasn’t part of their regular duties; they were there on orders from the legion to assist the defense forces in combat.

Unfortunately, during that battle, the defense commander on that front made a misjudgment, leading to a total collapse of the front lines. Jiang Hui’s parents sacrificed themselves on the battlefield to try to turn the tide of the battle, leaving the original body to grow up as an only child.

…This digression is a bit far. What this means is that from the memories of the original body and Jiang’s father’s military notes, Jiang Hui learned quite a bit about the legions.

The structure within a legion is not a loose assembly with no organization; it has clearly defined hierarchies with a tiered framework. The legion commander is the one with the highest authority in that legion, under whom are two deputy commanders and an inspector general, and beneath them are various positions and officers of different ranks, which I won’t detail further.

In addition to the ordinary soldiers assigned to different commanders within the legion, there are also some special task forces.

These task forces are led by capable officers within the legion, responsible for important special missions, or serving as the vanguard in wars. They are often among the best soldiers in the legion and must undergo more rigorous training than ordinary soldiers.

Multiple task forces… This must be a significant matter!
