Chapter 276: Loki Familia’s Strength
Ignoring the frozen and grim-faced Bete, a petite Amazoness with a revealing outfit moved closer to Ais, her expression brimming with expectation. "Ais, since Bete can't join, I should be eligible, right?"
"Tiona, stop messing around. Captain hasn't even spoken yet," another Amazoness, dressed similarly but with a curvier figure, gave the first a light chop on the head.
These two Amazonesses were twin sisters, but their physiques were polar opposites. The elder, Tione, boasted an impressive, curvy figure, while the younger, Tiona, was notably petite—a physique comparable to their goddess, Loki.
Both sisters were only 17 years old, yet like Ais, they were LV.5 adventurers.
The Familia members were accustomed to the twins' antics and didn't bother intervening or saying much about their squabble.
"Ais, it seems like joining this chat group must be a very stringent process, right?" Finn, stroking his chin, asked thoughtfully.
"Yes, you need a special invitation to bring someone into the chat group," Ais nodded, her face maintaining its usual calm.
Finn's eyes lit up at her response. A special invitation? That was exactly the opportunity they needed.
Although he was curious why only females could join the chat group, it wasn't difficult for him to accept. If the chat group was akin to an exclusive organization, having its owner restrict membership to women seemed plausible—like Artemis Familia, for instance.
If Riveria and the others could successfully join the chat group, the Loki Familia could soon become the strongest Familia in the world.
"Ais-senpai, how much does one of those special invitations cost?" Lefiya raised her hand curiously.
"One million points," Ais explained plainly. "Buying a special invitation requires one million points. Only one invitation is sold each month, and the right to purchase it is determined through a lottery system."
"One million points?" Lefiya's expression shifted, the weight of that number sinking in. Even without understanding the precise value of the points, she could tell it was a staggering amount.
Similarly, Riveria, who was slightly surprised, asked, "Ais, how do you earn these points?"
"Monster magic stones and any extraordinary items can be exchanged for points. Additionally, you can earn points through daily check-ins and group missions."
"Magic stones can be converted into points? The dungeon is teeming with monsters; we're certainly not short on stones. So gathering one million points shouldn't be a problem for our Familia, right?" Tiona exclaimed excitedly.
"Tiona," Ais said, her tone calm as usual, "A magic stone from an LV.6 floor boss is worth only 200 points. Normal monsters' stones are generally worth 10 points each."
"W-what…?" Tiona was stunned.
Floor bosses weren't easily obtained; they only appeared on specific levels, and once defeated, it could take weeks or even months for them to respawn.
As for ordinary monsters, collecting enough stones to accumulate one million points would require at least tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of stones. It wasn't as simple as Tiona had imagined.
"This truly is a difficult task. Unless we focus all our Familia's efforts on this goal, it's nearly impossible. But even that might not be practical," Finn said, his tone grave.
Although Familia members were akin to family, convincing everyone to dedicate themselves to earning points for a single invitation—especially one they couldn't use—was a near-impossible task.
"That's fine. With Ais in the chat group, it's already enough," Riveria said, clapping her hands lightly as if to conclude the topic. "Ais's strength has already surpassed Ottar's. With her, the Loki Familia's strength now eclipses Freya Familia's."
"Yes, let's leave it at that," Finn agreed, nodding.
"Umm…" Ais raised her hand slightly, attempting to speak, but her voice was drowned out by the ongoing discussion.
"Tch, there's no need for some chat group. I can become stronger on my own," Bete scoffed, sticking his hands in his pockets as he arrogantly placed one foot atop a nearby boulder. His attitude was as cocky as ever.
"Hmm? Who was the first to shout about wanting to join the chat group earlier?" Tiona teased, a mischievous grin on her face. "Too bad the chat group doesn't accept men. Such a pity, isn't it, Bete?"
"You—Tiona, you little…!" Bete's temper flared as he began stomping in frustration.
"Umm…" Ais's quiet voice was again drowned out by their bickering.
However, Riveria, ever perceptive, noticed Ais's hesitation this time.
"Tiona, Bete, enough," Riveria said sternly. As the Familia's maternal figure, her words carried weight, and both quieted down almost immediately.
Turning her attention to Ais, Riveria asked gently, "Ais, what is it you wanted to say?"
"I… actually have a lot of points."
Riveria's interest piqued. "Oh? How many?"
"Three billion."
"What? Three billion???"
The sheer number left everyone, including the usually composed Riveria, utterly stunned. Their collective shout echoed across the camp, drawing the attention of other Familia members setting up camp nearby.
"Ais, are you sure you don't mean three hundred thousand?" Tiona grabbed Ais by the shoulders, her expression disbelieving. Then she shook her head frantically. "No, wait—three hundred thousand is already ridiculous enough!"
Faced with their shock, Ais nodded calmly and replied, "You didn't mishear. It's indeed three billion."
"Three billion, three billion… how many millions is that?" Tiona mumbled incoherently, as if trying to do the math. "That's three thousand million! My gosh, that's insane!"
Though astounded, none doubted Ais's words. Her reserved nature made exaggeration or deceit unimaginable.
Shaking off her own astonishment, Riveria pressed further. "Ais, where did you get so many points?"
"A friend in the chat group gave them to me."
"They just gave them to you? Three billion points? That kind of generosity is… suspicious. It's not like it's just one or two thousand," Riveria said, her brows furrowing.
"Wait, no," she corrected herself after a moment of reflection. "Even if they had ulterior motives, no one would spend three billion points just to pave the way."
Everyone fell silent, still trying to comprehend the incredible sum.
"It's not what you think, Riveria. Eriri gave everyone in the chat group 3 billion points each," Ais interrupted Riveria's train of thought, leaving her utterly stunned.
At the same time, Lefiya, who had been feeling somewhat anxious after Riveria's comment, let out a sigh of relief. She had assumed Eriri's generosity might have stemmed from a personal interest in Ais, but it was clear Ais wasn't being singled out.
Riveria, recovering from her shock, asked with some difficulty, "...Ais, how many members are there in this chat group?"
"There are 27 members, including me."
"So, this Eriri person handed out a total of 78 billion points at once? Who in the world is she? Does she own the chat group or something?" Tiona exclaimed, her face filled with disbelief.
"Yes. According to Eriri, points have no value to her," Ais said matter-of-factly.
Hearing this, Riveria immediately understood that this Eriri must be an extraordinary individual.
Taking a deep breath, Riveria looked at Ais and asked cautiously, "Ais, can you tell us more about this 'Eriri' person?"
"Yes, I can."
Having spent over half a month in the chat group, Ais had gotten a decent understanding of Eriri through her brief interaction with her during the Black Bullet mission and the chats they had in the group.
For the next while, Ais detailed what she knew about Eriri, giving Riveria and the others a general impression of the mysterious woman.
"Universal Level... It's completely beyond imagination what such an existence must be like," Finn remarked, astonished. He had learned from Ais that his power level was assessed as Level 2, Stage 8 within the chat group's system. For the first time, he felt truly insignificant.
Curious, Finn began to wonder about the true strength of their goddess, Loki. After all, gods sealed their powers upon descending to the mortal world, and they had no way of gauging their divine strength.
Looking at Ais, Finn asked directly, "Ais, do you know how strong Loki is?"
Hearing Finn's question, the others perked up in curiosity, eager to find out the gap between themselves and their goddess.
"Loki's strength is at Level 5, Stage 7," Ais stated without hesitation. She had already checked Loki's power level in the chat group before.
Ais had been surprised by how relatively low Loki's true strength was. Most of the chat group members already possessed Level 5 mid-to-high-stage power, meaning Loki's strength only ranked around average within the group.
"Loki's actually quite strong, huh," Bete remarked, intrigued.
"Well, she's a deity, after all. It's only natural she'd be powerful," Finn said with a chuckle.
The atmosphere grew lighthearted as the group exchanged laughs. Their expanded worldview had dulled their reverence for the divine, reducing Loki's status to just another strong entity.
Once the laughter subsided, the group wrapped up their discussion about the chat group.
Despite learning about Ais's 3 billion points, Riveria didn't pressure her to purchase invitation tickets to bring other female members into the chat group. Those points belonged to Ais, not the Loki Familia, and how she chose to use them was entirely up to her.
Stepping forward, Riveria smiled and said, "Ais, no matter what, Eriri has given you an incredible gift. When this expedition is over, why don't you invite her to visit us so we can thank her properly?"
"Mm," Ais responded with a slight nod, her expression unchanged.
Meanwhile, in the mansion back home, life had grown increasingly lively as more people moved in. Mealtimes now resembled grand feasts, with the household brimming with activity.
Over a week had passed, and everyone—from Eri and Illya's mother-daughter pair to Remia and Myu—had fully adjusted to their new life.
Illya and Myu had even started attending primary school alongside Reina and the others. Cursed Children's team also began schooling, though they were in higher grades compared to Reina.
For most of their lives, the Cursed Children had either lived in isolation in the outskirts or been confined as Initiators by IISO, leaving them with no chance to experience formal education.
Now, they cherished their opportunity to go to school—except for Kohina Hiruko.
Although Eriri had erased Kohina's memories of Kagetane Hiruko, she hadn't altered her personality. Kohina remained a yandere little girl who was just as likely to draw her blade at the slightest provocation. However, due to Eriri's restrictions, she refrained from acting out at home.
Eriri wanted Kohina to experience the joy of schooling, so she imposed a rule: no attacking classmates unless provoked. With other Cursed Children keeping an eye on her, there hadn't been any incidents yet.
Still, Kohina despised school. Her thoughts weren't on studying but on rushing back to Eriri as soon as classes ended.
Kohina's intense attachment to Eriri meant she could barely endure a single day apart. During Eriri's one-day trip to the Arifureta world, Kohina nearly had a yandere breakdown, only to be forcibly subdued by the other household members.
Though Eriri could alter Kohina's memory and personality to eliminate her extreme dependence, she refused to do so. As she had always said, she would never change the memories or thoughts of those she cared about.
The earlier intervention to erase Hiruko Kagetane's influence had been a last resort, and at the time, Kohina wasn't yet considered "one of her own."
From now on, Eriri decided that whenever she visited other worlds, she'd bring Kohina along. After all, having an adorable, blade-wielding little girl by her side was undeniably charming.
