chapter 10
When the Young Master Encounters the Male Lead
“It can’t be true…”
The boy standing at the back stared blankly at Wu Liang, who was in the center of the thugs.
How long had it been since he threw that punch at the big guy?
In just this short time, the young man had knocked down all these fierce-looking thugs?
His movements were so fluid and effortless, it was a shock to the system; it felt like being on the set of an action movie.
One against five, and not a scratch on him. Who exactly is this fellow student from the illustrious Xing Academy?
“Um… young brother… let’s… let’s talk this out… we can talk, right…”
Swallowing hard, the big thug looked nervously at his underlings sprawled on the ground, wailing in pain.
Less than a minute had passed, and he had beaten his own men to a pulp. Was this guy even human?
Cold sweat soaked the big man’s back, and large beads of sweat dripped down his cheeks onto the ground.
His pale face twisted in fear, and he stuttered as he spoke.
“Is bullying the weak and fearing the strong your motto?”
Wu Liang looked up at the big thug who had suddenly knelt down, begging for mercy.
A strong sense of disgust filled his heart instantly. Thugs like this, who bully the weak and fear the strong…
Even if you let them go now, they will continue to harm others once you leave.
These people are like animals that don’t learn their lesson. If you show mercy, they’ll probably curse you behind your back.
“Uh… yes… no, no, it’s not… it’s my fault… I shouldn’t have been so wicked… I’ll never do it again…”
The big thug answered Wu Liang in a panic, nodding his head like a pecking chicken after seeing the blood on the other’s fists.
This student in front of him was a monster; this guy wasn’t human when it came to fighting…
“Oh? You say you’ll turn over a new leaf, then prove it to me?”
Wu Liang stepped forward to the big thug, looking down at him from above.
The thug’s legs shook like a sieve; one might think he had Parkinson’s.
“Ah… I… I swear! If I continue to do evil, may I be struck by lightning…”
Before the big thug could finish his sentence, a heavy kick to the face sent his head crashing into the ground.
And the big man, obligingly, passed out, not understanding why he was suddenly struck.
“Prison can’t stop these criminals from reoffending, so what good is your oath here?”
Wu Liang dusted off his trousers, his expression dark, speaking coldly. Being soft-hearted towards these thugs is cruelty to others.
They swore oaths only to forget them at the turn of a head, as credible as a lifelong debauchee vowing to suddenly abstain.
Better to give them a thrashing they’ll remember than to show any mercy.
“……”
With his mouth agape, the boy stared at Wu Liang, momentarily at a loss for words.
The young man before him had rescued him from the thugs, seemingly a righteous hero who couldn’t stand by in the face of injustice.
Yet, he also brutalized the already apologetic, defenseless brute, making him seem like a villain.
Those people surely wouldn’t give up just because they were humiliated this time, but this guy’s punches seemed excessively harsh.
Half of the brute’s head was smashed into the ground… Just how strong is this guy…
“Hey, are you alright?”
The voice that arose before him snapped the boy back to reality.
Looking up at the young man towering a full head above him, the boy immediately felt an oppressive aura.
So tall… that was his first thought… such a sturdy body… that was his second…
“My name is Nan Zhu, thank you so much for helping me. If you hadn’t stepped in, I would’ve been in trouble.”
Nan Zhu wiped the grime off his face and bowed gratefully to the young man before him.
There was no doubt the other was a good Samaritan, and he deserved thanks, though it would be better if one could overlook that final kick.
“Um… huh? What did you say your name was???”
The magnetic voice was a comfort to hear, but soon, a note of surprise crept into it.
When Nan Zhu looked up of his own accord, the surprise on the handsome face turned to horror.
As if seeing a ghoul, the once handsome features twisted grotesquely.
“That… my name is Nan Zhu… is there a problem……”
Nan Zhu, with a puzzled face, looked at the young man before him, not understanding why he seemed so frightened.
After all, the other had just taken down so many thugs, and it was their first meeting.
Why would this seemingly handsome young man show such a terrified expression?
“I’m going to be late for school! I must take my leave first, the world is vast, may we meet again if fate allows!”
Nan Zhu watched, dumbfounded, as the boy who had dropped such a line fled the scene.
For a moment, he was baffled. Had he done something to offend the other? Why did he suddenly run away??
“What a kind-hearted yet strange person.”
Nan Zhu watched the boy disappear at the end of the alley and smiled faintly.
Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, Nan Zhu shuddered.
“Damn! I’m going to be late too!!!”
Kanzhu slapped his forehead in a panic, completely oblivious to the fact.
“Hey! Wait for me, the student ahead, I’m also from the Glorious Star Academy!!!”
Kanzhu picked up the backpack that had fallen to the ground and slung it over his shoulder, rushing out towards the exit of the alley in a frenzy.
It was over, he was already late, and his first day as a transfer student was going to end with tardiness…
————————————-
“Oh no, no, no, no…”
Wu Liang, who had dashed out of the alley, looked back with a pale face.
He sighed in relief when he saw that the other party hadn’t followed him. Why did he have to run into the male lead?
According to the plot, shouldn’t they have met inside the school? How come they met here so early?
“I hope I didn’t leave a bad impression on that guy… Was I too violent when I hit him just now…”
Wu Liang held his forehead, painfully recalling the earlier incident.
If the fight left a bad impression on the male lead, it would be the end for him.
He hoped that this incident wouldn’t cause a drastic drop in the male lead’s favorability towards him, or else he would have nowhere to cry.
“God bless, long live the male lead, long live, long live…”
Wu Liang muttered quietly with his hands together, hoping not to get targeted by the male lead right from the start.
After all, he still had a long way to go…
