chapter 6
The Sixth Fluttering Girl
The silvery glow of the moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating the pink-hued room.
Even without the lights on, the moon’s radiance revealed it to be a girl’s boudoir.
Pink cherry blossom wallpaper adorned the walls, and countless plush toys were scattered across the floor.
Especially eye-catching was the large white chicken plushie on the wide bed.
It was the iconic mascot of KFC, its adorably ugly appearance beloved by children.
He Xue, clad only in a sheer nightgown, lay diagonally on the brocaded divan, her black hair spread out like a cloud.
Her jade-like legs appeared even whiter under the moonlight, and through the slightly transparent gauze, one could even see her pure white undergarments.
He Xue leaned against the pillow, hugging the large white chicken plushie to her chest.
Looking at the comically cute chicken head, He Xue couldn’t help but think of the young man she had just seen at the hospital entrance.
He had been wearing a KFC mascot head, and she, being a loyal fan of the white chicken plushie, had greeted him.
After all, his appearance at that moment was too funny.
But she hadn’t expected that he would recognize her, and that he was also a student at the prestigious Xing Academy.
“Ah… that reminds me, I still don’t know his name…”
Suddenly realizing she didn’t know the young man’s name, He Xue felt a bit embarrassed.
She had talked so much with him and even shared her troubles, yet in the end, she didn’t know his name.
It was an oversight on her part; she should have asked for his name right away as a matter of courtesy.
“Never mind, since he’s a student at the same school, maybe we’ll meet again one day.”
He Xue smiled wryly, holding the chicken head of the plushie, her long eyelashes trembling lightly, her crescent-shaped eyes lively and beautiful.
“Recently, it’s been one thing after another.”
A shadow fell across He Xue’s face as if a thought had struck her.
Her mood hadn’t been great these past few days due to her grandfather’s serious illness, compounded by the harassment from that young master at school, leaving her feeling quite down.
Fortunately, that young master ended up in the hospital after being hit on the head by a shot put, or else she would have inevitably clashed with him.
“I’ll smash you, smash you!”
He Xue couldn’t help but seethe with anger when she thought of Wu Liang’s arrogant demeanor at school, acting as if he was above everyone else.
If it weren’t for his good fortune of being born into the terrifying Wu family, Wu Liang would be nothing more than a single-celled organism, less significant than an amoeba.
Why couldn’t that shot put have caused him more serious harm, like putting him in the hospital for a year or two?
“There’s no harm without comparison…”
He Xue sighed heavily, pressing down on the white chicken plushie.
Although she had never seen the face of the legendary Chicken Sage, he must be a hundred times better than Wu Liang.
“If only I had asked for his name back then.”
Her pale jade fingers traced circles on the white chicken plushie as He Xue shook her head with a hint of regret.
“Prayers, if only they worked.”
He Xue’s soft voice emerged from the plushie as she prayed earnestly, just as Mr. Chicken Sage had instructed.
If it were as Mr. Chicken Sage said, she hoped that a miracle would come soon for her grandfather.

“First Private Hospital”
Yao Shi, dressed in a maid’s outfit, always managed to draw attention.
Though it was already past midnight, the night shift medical staff couldn’t help but take a second glance at Yao Shi’s attire.
Holding a clipboard, Yao Shi walked down the somewhat empty corridor, trying her best to muffle the sound of her high heels.
When Yao Shi reached the vicinity of the intensive care unit, she glanced at her clipboard.
This was the room where He Jing’ao was staying, and as the young master had said, He Jing’ao’s condition was far from optimistic.
She approached the door and peered through the glass at the elderly man inside, countless tubes connecting him to the machines.
The young master’s description was an understatement; this was not just a serious illness but a critical one.
It was a good thing she had come to check on him earlier than planned, or else it would have been troublesome.
“No wonder the name He Jing’ao seemed familiar.”
Yao Shi murmured softly, having been concerned about this name before.
After some investigation, she found out that He Jing’ao was He Xue’s grandfather, and He Xue was a classmate of young master Wu Liang.
“Young master Wu Liang, could it be that he has taken a fancy to that woman?”
Yao Shi tilted her head in confusion. It seemed that Master Wu Liang had a girlfriend.
Moreover, if she remembered correctly, it was a gold-digger who had just recently started dating him. Had the young master grown tired of her so quickly?
“Never mind, I just need to follow the young master’s orders.”
Yao Shi shook her head, casting aside her thoughts.
She had no right to meddle in the young master’s private life. Whom he liked had nothing to do with her.
Yes, that’s right, it had nothing to do with her.
“Let’s get started on the preparations now.”
Yao Shi glanced at the elder in the room and left without looking back.
She was just the young master’s maid, nothing more…
