The Vixen's Gambit: Tonight We Hunt

Chapter 31: Life is Unpredictable, Like Sausage Wrapped in a Sausage

One Inch Punch Opens the Heavens. This was definitely one of the most famous skills in Honkai.

As the signature move of Fu Hua, a warrior from the Previous Era and immortal in the current era, there was no doubt about its worth. It was a powerful skill that combined the techniques of both eras and Fu Hua's millennia of combat experience.

Even when Fu Hua's body was weak to the point of being no different from a normal Valkyrie, she could use this skill to knock down a half-awakened Herrscher with one punch.

Before this, Lihua had a total of 2.7 million energy.

The Brute Strength trait cost her 100,000 energy points, Rapid Recovery 300,000, Agility 100,000, Evasive Reactions 200,000, Advanced Martial Arts 300,000, and Advanced Honkai Resistance 500,000. All of that had cost her 1.5 million energy points.

The 300,000 energy Martial Arts trait was just an ordinary fighting style. It didn't have any special power. But even with that, it allowed the untrained Lihua to barely hold her own against a fighting expert like Kallen.

And the One Inch Punch-Heaven Breaker skill had cost her a million points! It was truly a special skill, and its power was apparent.

While it couldn't part the earth, creating a hole in the clouds was no problem.

Therefore, when she unleashed the punch, it was like thunder and lightning. The chains that Judah had carelessly weaved were shattered by her in one blow!

That technique was the Red Immortal's…?!

Having achieved her goal, Lihua had no intention of continuing the fight. Taking advantage of Kallen's shock, Lihua ran toward the exit.

She knew that she wasn't on the same level as Kallen, and that her victory had been because Kallen hadn't been serious and had been caught off guard.

If Kallen came to her senses, she wouldn't even last three moves before she was pinned to the ground!

Luckily I don't have to fight her. After escaping, I can think of something…

"Mimicry Judah."

As Lihua pushed open the door, a calm voice echoed nearby.

She was immediately wrapped in gold chains and crashed to the ground, dropping the little girl in her arms.

Otto—?!

Before Lihua could react, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck and lost consciousness.

"Kallen Kaslana, this is the second time."

Otto, holding the unconscious Lihua, looked coldly at Kallen who had arrived. "You've disappointed me."

When Lihua woke up, she was in a dungeon.

Everything was deathly silent. She was the only one locked in the dungeon. The rest of it was dark and empty.

The only light came from the oil lamp in her cell.

Lihua touched the back of her neck, which no longer hurt. She sighed helplessly.

She had barely escaped from Kallen only to end up in Otto's hands.

That was expected. She had attacked Kallen; of course, Otto would come after her.

I hope that kid got away too… Crap.

Lihua slumped back onto the pile of straw and wondered why things had ended up this way.

She had been planning on convincing Otto to rebel against Schicksal that morning, and now, she was locked in Schicksal's dungeon.

That was a minor issue. The real problem was why had Kallen gone crazy?

Lihua looked at the dark ceiling and thought about what she had done that had caused Kallen to change so drastically.

But nothing came to mind. Kallen had developed an obsession with strength, but she had never endorsed violence in front of Kallen.

Kallen was a lesbian, and she liked her. Lihua could understand that.

She had always made sure to be close to Kallen when trying to increase her favorability.

Kallen had said that she wanted to save the world, so she told her the best way to change the world.

Kallen liked Otto's wooden airplane, so she had made one for her. Although it was a bit ugly, at least it could fly.

Kallen would get hurt while training, so she would take care of her wounds; Kallen's family died, so she was there to comfort her; Kallen was hungry, so she made her snacks…

As an orphan from the Hedgehog Novel Orphanage, Lihua had been better to Kallen than her own parents. It was natural for her to fall in love with her.

But!

With her positive example, Kallen should have grown up to be an even better saint than in the original story. Why did she become another Otto?!

And while Otto was obsessed over the desire to bring her back, Kallen was obsessed with becoming stronger. That was such a classic villain arc, she was going to be killed by the hero any day.

And she said it was for her safety? She didn't need her protection!

The only moral person left in Schicksal was now gone. All that was left were lunatics or lunatics-to-be.

If they just did their own thing, it would be fine. But now, Schicksal was researching the box that sealed the Twelfth Herrscher. That meant that they were dragging the entire world to its demise.

Lihua didn't think of herself as a good person, but she didn't want to see so many people die. And it seemed that the cause of this timeline change was because of her.

Ugh. What's wrong with Kallen? Is she going through a rebellious phase?

No, she couldn't just sit here in the dungeon. She had to find a way to stop Schicksal's schemes.

Even if she couldn't save the children who were being forced into the human experiments, she needed to go to Shenzhou and tell Fu Hua what Schicksal was planning. That way, she could defeat the Twelfth Herrscher early.

But she seemed to dislike her. Fu Hua might not even listen to her. And what would happen to the world if Fu Hua decided to destroy Schicksal, without Otto and Kallen?

Ugh, headache.

Lihua stood up from the straw and walked to the bars. She tried them, and sadly realized they were made of Soul Steel. Her fists couldn't break them.

She had 200,000 energy points left, but she still didn't have enough to buy anything to help her break out.

Crap.

Lihua dejectedly slumped back down onto the pile of straw.

I came here to be a bad woman, so why am I thinking about saving the world?

She was locked here, anyway. If she waited for the Honkai outbreak to kill her, that would be the same as killing herself now. Which was better?

But she was too scared to cut her own throat. Maybe, she should wait for a guard to show up and have them stab her.

Now that she had fallen out with Kallen and Otto, they probably wouldn't even shed a tear for her when she died. So there was no point in farming their energy.

She was just worried about Eleanor and the others. She hoped that they wouldn't do anything foolish, and that they would run far away.

"Life is truly unpredictable, like sausage wrapped in a sausage."
