Thita

Chapter 4: Into a new world

After what he thought was an enternitity Thita opened his eyes once again. He had been left unconscious after being sucked into the portal.

He couldn't understand why that happened but he decided to ignore it for now since he had other problems to worry about. After all he had arrived, to a new world.

After clearing his head and returning to reality he stood up and began looking around. It appeared that he was in some short of a forest.

There were trees as far as the eye could see and the nature was all around him. One noticeable fact though was that the forest wasn't anywhere near being dense and overgrown, stating the fact that there should be humans or other creatures that populated it and prevented it from growing too much.

Furthermore, he noticed an area that was way more clearer nearby, as if it was some sort of path or road. He kept that in mind and continued looking around.

There was all sort of trees nearby, some seemed to resemble those that he already knew, while the were others that he hadn't seen ever before. He decided to trust Zero and think of this place as a whole new planet no matter how crazy it sounded.

Of course he still had some doubt that he welcomed, after all he wasn't used in trusting others.

'This place looks surprisingly peaceful. Let's hope it stays like that.'

He hadn't forgotten his past goal of ending his life but he decided to just ignore it and try his luck in this place. He had nothing to loose at this point anyways.

While looking around he suddenly started hearing footsteps coming from far away. It appeared someone or something was walking along the path he noticed and was coming his way.

Hearing the unexpected noice, Thita quickly moved away from the path and hid behind a bush trying to camouflage as much as he could with the surrounding nature. It was too risky to be found while not knowing anything about this world.

The footsteps started getting louder and louder, indicating that the source of the sound was getting closer. Thanks to that, Thita was able to identify the source since he could hear better and even see the source.

A few steps further from his hiding spot, 3 people were running and came to a complete stop. Thita looked at them while trying not to make any sound.

As far as he could tell, the party appeared to consist of 2 males and a female.

One was a man that seemed to be as young as 17 years old. He was tall and had yellow short hair. He also appeared to be carrying a long silver sword and his body was covered with a few scratches.

The other one was far more muscular that the first and he seemed to be around 18. He had brown shott hair and his body was also covered with a lot more scratches than the first guy but still not too many.

The woman unlike the two didn't appear to be covered in scratches and she didn't carry any weapon unlike the two but she was as exhausted as the others. She was tall as the guys and she had long yellow hair. She also appeared to be 17.

While examining them, the first guy spoke.

"Ah... did we escape them?"

Hearing his voice the other man spoke.

"I can no longer hear them. Damn that was way to close."

"Yeah... lucky us."

Hearing the conversation between the two, the woman raised her head, cleary exhausted and spoke.

"You call that luck!? We almost got killed!"

"Yeah, but we didn't." The second guy said.

"That doesn't mean anything! Why didn't you guys do something?" She said.

"What are you talking about Leslie? If we could, we wouldn't have told you to escape." The second man responded.

"Hey! Stop arguing guys! Both of you are right. We should have been more prepared. If you have to blame someone blame me for underestimating the difficulty of our quest!"

The first guy said.

Hearing his voice, Leslie spoke.

"Hmph, don't try to make swap out focus on you Alex. It's the fault of all of us for coming unprepared."

"I have to agree with you, don't be so hard on yourself man. We are all at fault." The second guy said.

"Especially Paul!"

"Why you..!"

Hearing his companions argue once again, Alex smiled and laughed a bit. Both of them looked at him, and stopped arguing as if his inocent laugh was charming enough to make them solve their differences.

"Hey! Are you making fun of us" Leslie said.

"No! Of course not! I just.."

"Yeah man no need to explain. Anyways, it's not wise to stay in the middle of the forest especially with how much injured we are. Let's head back to the town for now and we can continue our conversation there." Paul said.

"I have to agree with him this time. Let's head back."

Hearing his companions, Alex smiled and started heading towards the town with them.

Their footsteps started getting quieter and quieter until they couldn't be heard anymore. At least from Thita.

Thita who had staid completely still, didn't hurry to move until he confirmed that they had left. Standing up, he looked around once again and stretched his arms, to relieve the lack of movement.

He couldn't help but wonder what excactly has happened to them, fearing of being attacked by what had attacked them but he decided to just be as cautious as before. They seemed way too relaxed to be in real danger after all.

Looking towards the direction they went, he decided to move from the spot he was and head towards their direction. After all, whatever had attacked them was still in this forest. Staying in it wasn't an option.

By taking a step forward, he started walking and headied towards the path. Following it, he wondered, where would he lead him to.
