Thita

Following the path, Thita started thinking about a lot of stuff. His situation was starge in a lot of ways and it was normal to take time to adjust.

At least, that was what he thought.

Looking around the forest as he walked to make sure that there was no danger he wonder about what his future would be like.

He didn't have high expectations about it since he didn't knew what to expect from this world but he at least hoped that he would be able to be happy.

The being called Zero told him he might be able to find happiness so he had to try his best. His best at what though?

'How does one find happiness again?'

He didn't knew. He just had to try his best and hope. At least, that was what he hoped.

While following the path, he noticed that the forest was getting less dense. The number of trees started decreasing and there were tons of indications that there was human activity or something similar going on nearby.

His guess was right since, moment later he noticed that the forest ended. Reaching closer to the last trees he saw it.

There, some meters away from him, stood a town.

Looking at it Thita started analyzing it.

It was large in size. Probably large enough to house at least a thousand people. The most noticeable aspect of it though, was the large stone walls that surrounded it.

Thita also noticed that there were guard posts on top of the walls in each corner. Furthermore the seemed to be one gate from his side and one more from the other. The town was also surrounded with farmlands outside the walls taking a large area of the plain land.

Thita continued admiring the simplicity of it. The world that he had been teleported to seemed to be in an older era than his own in terms of evolution and inventions but that was welcomed by his.

'That makes things more simple I hope.'

Thita knew that he would be much more able to adapt in living in an older era than a more advanced one.

Looking at the town once again. He saw the party that he had seen before in the forest. They seemed to be in the gate of the town, speaking with the guards that guarded it.

After a few moments the guards moved from the gate letting them pass through and then they returned to their post, blocking the entrance once again.

'Guards huh? That just makes things more complicated."

Even though he was happy to see that if he entered, he would be protected. He didn't knew how to enter.

Sneaking in wasn't a wise option and he didn't want to spend the night outside the town's walls so he had to find a way to enter.

Looking towards the town once again, he sighted and started walking towards it's direction.

'Looks like I will have to manage to let me in. Worst case scenario the don't let me in or even attack me. I think I can manage escaping if it ends up to the last. Let's just hope not.'

Passing through the farmlands, the people who worked at them gave him short strange looks but they quickly ignored him and continued with their work.

'The fuck you guys look at me like that! Do I look that weird to you?... or may i look weird with these out of place clothes'

He was right. He definitely stood out.

After thinking that, Thita continued walking hoping that the guards will just ignore the modern day clothes he wore and just let him in.

Taking one more step forward he heard a voice of a man.

"Stop!"

After hearing that he froze and stood in place.

The voice was heard once again.

"Who are you and what is your purpose here!?"

The voice of one of the guards was heard again. It was a serious and cold voice.

Not wanting to make the guard repeat himself, Thita responded.

"My name is Thita."

"What is your purpose here?"

"I am on a journey and I came here to seek selter before I depart again."

He couldn't come up with something else so he just decided to play it safe and say something that should at least be an acceptable answer in most situations.

The guard nodded.

"Understood. You may enter the town as a temporary resident."

After saying thatbhe pointed his finger.

"Go to this guy and he will tell you what you need to do to enter. I would advice you not to try anything funny. Got it?"

Thita nodded and enter the town. After doing so he went to where the guard pointed and found a skinny looking man sitting in a wooden desk bellow the gate. The desk was also filled with papers.

Them looked at Thita and spoke.

"Name, gender and age please."

Thita looked at him not expecting such a straightforward question but he responded.

"Name is Thita, I am a male and I am 16."

The man nodded and wrote to nearby paper. He then took a bronze badge from a nearby container and gave it to him.

"This is proof that you are a resident of this town. It has all the information you provided on it and can also be used to perform registrations in several places or our town. I would advice you to always keep it with you, since without it you will have to be kicked out."

Thita nodded and took it. Looking at it a question rose to his head.

"I don't see anything written to it though."

The man looked at him and sighted.

"It's written to it through magic, that's how it has been for the last 10 years. We no longer use the old fashioned badges."

Hearing that a few more questions rose to his head but he decided not to ask.

"Ah, yeah right. Sorry for asking such stupid questions. By the way, can I enter now?"

The man nodded and Thita began to walk away towards the town. He could hear the man matter a few words though.

"These uneducated people. How can they not know something that simple? And they are supposed to be our future, goddammit."

Hearing that, Thita sighted.

'At least I am not the only one having trouble understanding.'

Looking at the bronze badge again, Thita decided to put it on one of his pants pocket.

'Let's hope I don't loose that, I don't want to ruin this guy's day even more.'
