To be the misunderstood villainess

Chapter 16: Driving to clean up mind

Veronica noticed how Andrew was sweating after coming out of the car. He wasn't at his usual self but she didn't feel like pointing that out.

She didn't want him to think about the same thing again, especially when it was bothering him.

She knew that by driving, his mind was going to clean up and he would feel better and eventually forget about it, even if it means for a temporary time.

She wasn't good at acting like a therapist and she didn't want to touch a topic without knowing how sensitive it was to him.

She might enjoy getting under his skin but deep inside, she only liked to tease him when she feels like that he's also somehow enjoying it.

A few people came to them with a grin plastered on their faces. They didn't look like the friendly type.

They were more like the scary hulk-looking type, the type one would feel scared of.

They were huge in the size and almost all of them had a scar on their eyebrows. They were like the guys we see on television as a villain.

"Isn't it our favorite Veronica and Andrew? We were waiting for you guys. It has been a long time since we actually saw a bet-worthy race. So, who's going against whom today?" A guy said he was the largest one among all of them.

"I am simply here for a race. I don't want to go against anyone today," Veronica said with a hand wave.

She wanted to race before but now, she was in the mood to stay there and watch others race with Andrew.

Leaving him alone in such a state didn't seem like an appealing plan to her but apparently, Andrew wasn't thinking the same.

"I want to go against your most skillful player today," he said, holding eye contact.

Veronica who never loses her calmness looked at him with slightly widened eyes. The guy who was talking to them noticed her expression and he smirked.

He knew that something was cooking among them and it was clear as daylight since they both came here together.

"Are you sure about this? You are a great racer but he's our best for a reason," he said, knowing perfectly well that Andrew and Veronica both love good competition.

As expected, Andrew nodded his head.

"Yes, David. I am sure about it."

"Ok then, Veronica, are you sure that you don't want to join?" He asked Veronica but from the corners of his eyes, he was looking at Andrew to see if anything changes on his face but nothing changed.

His face was now bare of any emotions. The nervousness Veronica saw before was gone like it was never here in the first place.

It seemed as if his weak and nervous side was only for her to see. It seemed as if he wasn't willing to show others that he was capable of showing emotions.

It seemed as if he felt danger around others and had to keep his guard up all of the time but with her, he feels like he was in his safe zone.

For some reason, it made Veronica happy. She felt a sudden urge to always protect him, to make sure that no harm touches him.

If she had to burn down the entire world, just to keep him happy, she would do it.

But that's not what she was thinking, that's what her heart was saying and her brain was unaware of it.

"No, David, I would like to only watch today," she said, her face bare of any emotions as well.

If anyone would look at them now then they would think that everyone other than David was a robot.

Only he was smiling while the others were simply standing there.

He is the owner of this racing spot and a good friend of both Andrew and Veronica.

They used to go to the same school. People were afraid of him due to his intimate looks. But under his tough and rough looks, he had the heart of a baby.

He was barely capable enough of hurting an ant. Hence, Andrew and Veronica were shocked at the start when they found out that he owns this.

Veronica decided to take a seat with others as she didn't feel like going to the VIP side today.

People around her were shamelessly kissing and doing other stuff.

A few girls were giving bl*wjobs here as well. All of these were disgusting yet everyday things here.

After getting stressed due to the game, everyone would feel frustrated and the best way of dealing with frustration was f*cking and smoking to them.

Andrew went to the spot with his car and Veronica's eyes were plastered on him.

He looked up and their eyes met.

"Start!"
