Top Assassins Call Me The Lady Boss

Chapter 43: Confrontation

Chapter Forty-Three

It was about four pm when Asli loaded her gun. Whoever spiked her drink was going to die tonight. So help her God, she was going shoot him in his balls and then cut them for him to eat while she watched him choke on them.

The brutal image flashed in her mind and a wicked grin formed on her lips shortly.

She left the house and Ruth watched her closely. Asli had returned home after her show and taken a quick nap. She was no longer breaking down.

"Thanks for the food," was this the first time she had said that to Ruth? The woman looked like she had given her a million dollars or nineteen cows. Her smile was wider than usual and oh what was that? Ruth had opened her arms and was about to hug her when she pulled away from her seat quickly.

"Thank you!" The smile wouldn't leave the older woman's face. "I've been thinking…"

"Keep thinking." Asli defensively uttered knowing she would ask about her breakdown from the morning.

"About the guy you told me about," Ruth continued anyway. That caught her attention. What was she going to ask about Ahmet? "Have you decided which side you want him on yet?"

"He and I can never be on the same side. He dies tomorrow." She saw a retired look flash on Ruth's face for only a short moment.

Asli left immediately before any words could be said.

This was the place where they had last held their meeting. Was it not yesterday? Or was it the day before yesterday? She wasn't sure. However, she was sure she was going to kill whoever spiked her water and those who thought it was a great idea.

She walked towards the entrance, her heels clicking on the pavement. As she pushed open the huge door, a sliver of light spilled out, illuminating the figures huddled within. The air was thick with the smell of smoke and alcohol.

Her eyes scanned the room, locking onto the familiar faces of some of the Mafia leaders she had met the last time. They were seated around the same table, their faces illuminated by the faint glow of cigars. For a moment, they seemed frozen in time, their eyes fixed on her with a mixture of fear and wariness.

It was a fleeting moment, one that they quickly tried to mask with their usual bravado. But she had seen it – the flicker of fear in their eyes, the slight tremble of their hands as they reached for their cigars, and… she better hope they weren't reaching for their guns.

These were men who were supposed to fear nothing, men whose fathers had built their empires on the back of intimidation and violence. So why did they look scared? Unless they were guilty. How was it so? Mafias never felt guilty.

She smiled to herself, a cold, calculating smile. She knew the answers to those questions. And they were right to be scared. They should be scared. In case they didn't know, she held the power, she was the one person who could bring their entire empires crashing down. There, she made up her mind to play with them. A quick death would be too good for them.

"Which one of you found it hilarious to spike my drink?" Her tone was calm. It was always calm.

Nobody answered. And she laughed a wicked laugh and then asked again, "Was it you? Or you?" She pointed the gun at them while they also aimed theirs at her.

There were six men and each of them feared for their lives, though they had guns too. Good.

"Now, let's relax and have a chat." One of them dropped his gun and hinted to the five to do so. He seemed to be the smart one, or so he wanted her to see.

She had no proof of them spiking the water they gave her. They could just find one of their men to take the fall. She had wanted one of them to pull the trigger first.

"What do you mean we spiked your drink?" The man continued and he let out a strange laugh. "Why would we want to do that? You are a Mafia boss like us. We can't start a war without a cause, remember? Look, we may have our own histories but…"

She wasn't in the mood to listen to whatever he had to say. Maybe she should just shoot one for the start. She clicked her gun and was about to pull the trigger.

"It's Ahmet!"
