Chapter 51: Catching up (1)
Chapter Fifty-One
Ahmet was brave. He was really brave to have stood beside his enemy without flinching. He then drew his gun out and aimed at the crowd.
Murmuring began and before anyone could question why the gun wasn't pointed at the man beside him, he had fired the gun and one of his cousins from the minor family, came falling to the ground.
"This should tell you all, that we will kill you no matter your status, if you betray this family!" Markus added and everyone seemed to understand why he didn't look the slightest scared when they had thought he was the mole among them. Who could blame them? The two made it seem they only had each other as a cousin.
Ahmet walked past everyone and his cousin also followed. Once they got to his room, he threw his arms around Markus and welcomed him.
"How was your stay?" He asked immediately as Markus stepped away from him.
"I hate you! You sent me into the lion's den. Look, he even slapped me this evening. He ruined my perfect skin! I nearly shot him back if not for you," Markus whined and his cousin laughed.
"Typical of you. Now, tell me what happened?" Ahmet couldn't wait to hear it all. When he had suggested Markus went in there, even their dads didn't think it was a good idea.
Markus shook his head. "No, you tell me. When I told you who the mole is, you told me you will wait and see what he does. How the hell did you kill him this early?"
"Asli reported you to me. She thinks you are betraying me." Ahmet mentioned, his arms hiding in his pockets.
"It actually took her almost a week to do that? I saw her and though she looked beautiful, she didn't look appe… sorry bro." He stopped his words when he saw the look on Ahmet's face. It was more than jealousy. He was about to tease him like he always did.
Ahmet quickly mentioned. "You are home early."
"Yes. Her father thinks I was trained to only eat. Can you imagine? So he said until he's no longer angry, I should not show my face to him. I decided to come home until he called me." Markus was now biting one of the apples from the fruit basket.
"We'll, who could blame him?" Ahmet joked and Markus laughed along. "I hope he doesn't suspect you."
"Not a chance. However, Asli has given him the impression I am incompetent." He narrated everything that happened before adding that. "Asli dropped a hint, unfortunately for her. The Midnight Reaper wouldn't have done that, I suppose from her previous mission. We all know Asli on the other hand, would've killed when she was annoyed. She killed the auctioneer." Markus told Ahmet who nodded his head in agreement.
Ahmet chipped in "That is what makes me curious about her."
"Yeah, aside from wanting to bang her!" He joked and his cousin's face blazed with fire and he quickly added, "Oh come on! I am allowed to make this joke. I am getting hit by her father." What was fun about it if he couldn't even joke around?
"How does she keep up with all these identities? She's Lisa and she's the Midnight Reaper too. Have you discovered if she has any other identity we don't know of?" Ahmet continued regardless of his joke.
"Well, she's engaged." He informed him and oh boy, he didn't miss the jealousy in his eyes. He looked angrier than he was a moment ago when he shot one of their cousins. Markus loved to see that look in his eyes… for the first time.
