Chapter 50: “How dare you betray me?”
Chapter Fifty
"I'm back! Home sweet home!" Markus jumped into one of the sofas before one of their men spoke to him. "Boss wants to see everyone now."
A frown formed on his face and though he was tired, he dragged himself to the gym.
"Couldn't you wait till the next morning? I was really tired from my trip, you know." Markus told as he stood by Ahmet. He only passed him a short glance.
His face was more serious and harsher than usual. That got Markus interested. Why was he looking so dangerous? More than he usually looked.
"I got a text message. That someone here is trying to betray me. Do you know what that means in the Mafia world? This was punishable by death. How dare you?" Ahmet's tone matched his look and now everyone was whispering except for Markus who seemed to know who he was referring to.
"Come out or else we'll drag you out in the most humiliating way possible," Markus added.
Yet, no one did and Ahmet's anger only seemed to be increasing. He drew out his gun. "For the last time, come out! You call yourself my brother. We swore everyone in. How dare you betray me? How dare you join hands with the enemy?" Was it not pretentious of him to call Asli's father his enemy? When all he thought of day and night now, was how he could strip her naked and make love to her.
Was he not the traitor himself?
"To make matters worse, you are even my cousin!" Immediately that bomb was dropped, everyone turned to Markus who stood right beside him.
'No wonder the boss looks angrier than the usual anger he would've shown if any other person had betrayed the family.' those were written in everyone's eyes.
Again, Markus didn't look surprised and everyone wondered if he was that shameless. He didn't look remorseful. They knew Ahmet wouldn't be able to kill him. Markus' father would've killed him too. The family would split if the two most important members were to fight against each other
So why would Markus do it? Why would he betray someone he had been best friends with since they were young? They were cousins. And unlike the other cousins they had, the two of them were the closest.
Markus made sure nobody got close to Ahmet, and Ahmet made sure nobody neared Markus. They were marked by each other.
Why, Markus? Why?
Ahmet was brave. He was really brave to have stood beside his enemy without flinching. He then drew his gun out and aimed.
