Transmigrated Become Sukuna, but the host is Yukinoshita Yukino?

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: The Battle Begins

Challenging all the students to fight him was probably something Hayashizaki decided on the spur of the moment after Zenin's provocation. But for Yukinoshita Yukino, this was a rare chance to face Hayashizaki seriously.

If she could win—even if it meant working together with others—she might gain some recognition from Hayashizaki as long as she played a major role in the battle.

She decided to focus first on how to win, and then think about how to contribute effectively.

With that thought in mind, Yukinoshita Yukino's expression turned serious.

"I want to win."

She stepped forward and spoke earnestly to the six students, "Could I ask for your help?"

"You? Are you confident you can win?"

Zenin gave Yukinoshita a once-over, her doubtful gaze mixed with a hint of surprise.

"Fushiguro wasn't lying, that's for sure."

Nobara Kugisaki also sized up Yukinoshita Yukino. Even she had to admit that Fushiguro Megumi's assessment of her was accurate.

She really was a rare beauty.

Her long, silky black hair flowed down to her waist, and her elegant face, with its refined features, carried a noble air. When she became serious, the slight furrow of her brow gave her a different kind of charm—distinct from the bold and valiant presence of senior Maki.

To avoid getting hit by Zenin's boomerang again, Itadori Yuji quickly raised his hand before Zenin could question her further and said, "I've fought alongside Yukinoshita-senpai before. I can vouch for her strength. She's really strong—on par with a Grade 2 sorcerer like Fushiguro."

"Grade 2? But Toge is a semi-Grade 1 sorcerer," Zenin pointed out.

"Salmon."

Inumaki Toge gave a short response.

"No, if they really fought, Inumaki-senpai would probably lose instantly,"

Fushiguro Megumi added.

"What!?"

Everyone was shocked, staring at Fushiguro in disbelief.

"It's because of her technique."

Fushiguro's expression was complicated. "If I'm not mistaken, Yukinoshita-senpai's technique is the same as Ryoumen Sukuna's."

"Sukuna's technique!?"

The second-years, along with Nobara who had never met Yukinoshita before, widened their eyes in surprise.

"Sukuna… that's the thing Itadori ate, right?"

Nobara glanced at Itadori Yuji, then turned her gaze back to Yukinoshita Yukino.

"Did you also eat a special-grade cursed object?"

"What special-grade cursed object?"

Yukinoshita frowned, feeling like something strange was being implied.

"It's Ryoumen Sukuna's finger."

Nobara gestured with her hand.

"Finger? Of course not. How could anyone eat something like that?"

"Well…"

Itadori Yuji, feeling helpless, pointed at himself.

"I did."

"…"

For a moment, the black-haired girl didn't know how to respond.

"Anyway, although I don't know the full details, the fact is that Yukinoshita-senpai has the same slicing technique as Sukuna. In terms of pure offensive power, she's probably the strongest among us,"

Fushiguro concluded, bringing the conversation back on track.

"I think centering our battle strategy around Yukinoshita-senpai could work."

"It's the same as Hayashizaki's technique."

Yukinoshita Yukino corrected.

"There's no difference between the two."

The spiky-haired boy sighed.

Wait, no, there actually is a difference. Fushiguro Megumi suddenly realized something, and his expression changed.

"Yukinoshita… senpai, you don't know how to use the Ten Shadows Technique, do you?"

"You mean the technique that uses shadows to summon shikigami? I don't."

She shook her head.

Probably because not long after Hayashizaki obtained the Ten Shadows Technique, he became a vessel, so the technique wasn't imprinted on Yukinoshita Yukino. Naturally, she couldn't use it.

"Got it. That makes sense."

Fushiguro Megumi let out a slow breath. Though he didn't particularly love his technique, the thought of more people having it did bother him a little.

Still, speaking of the Ten Shadows Technique, he thought of a way they might win—if they could draw Hayashizaki-sensei into Mahoraga's summoning ritual. No matter how strong he was, there was no way he could handle Mahoraga using only his physical strength, right?

As long as Hayashizaki-sensei used any ability beyond the set rules, it would count as their victory.

"It's just a training match, no need to go that far…"

"Fushiguro, what are you mumbling about?"

Itadori Yuji leaned over to him.

"Nothing."

Fushiguro Megumi turned his head away and pushed Itadori's face back with his hand.

"Since Megumi's okay with it, let's get started."

Maki Zenin didn't want to waste any more time. She tossed aside the wooden staff in her hand and took a large, sword-shaped cursed tool from Fushiguro Megumi, who pulled it out from the shadows.

"Let's not keep him waiting."

"Alright!"

Hikigaya Hachiman, standing on the edge of the group, hadn't participated in the discussion after introducing himself. He stayed quiet, like an uninvolved bystander, wondering why everyone was so fired up. All he wanted was to slack off. If only he could just watch instead of join the fight.

Unfortunately, Hayashizaki had specifically called him out, so he had no choice but to follow the group toward the training field.

"Ah, youth really is something~"

Gojo Satoru, who hadn't interfered in the students' discussion, smiled as he watched them walk away.

"Done talking?"

Standing in the middle of the wide field, Hayashizaki put his phone back in his pocket and looked up at the students who spread out and surrounded him, ready for battle.

"Let's begin, shall we?"

Before he finished speaking, Hayashizaki's figure disappeared from sight.

"So fast!?"

Maki Zenin's pupils shrank as she instinctively began searching for Hayashizaki.

While the others were still trying to find him, Itadori Yuji reacted first and shouted toward a certain dead-fish-eyed boy standing near the back.

"Hikigaya! Watch out!"

"Huh!? He's coming for me first!?"

Hikigaya Hachiman's face turned pale. It seemed as if Hayashizaki deliberately slowed down after his initial flash step to let him see his approach.

Seeing Hayashizaki coming straight at him, Hikigaya Hachiman panicked and quickly raised his hand to activate his technique.

A mirror appeared in the air out of nowhere, but it reflected nothing.

"You're kidding, right? He dodged that too!?"

Hikigaya Hachiman looked terrified as he saw Hayashizaki twist his upper body mid-sprint, narrowly avoiding the sealing effect of the technique.

So… my technique can be dodged, huh?

A drop of cold sweat ran down Hikigaya Hachiman's cheek.
