Trapped in Paradise (In a Hentai World, as a Trap)

Volume 1 Chapter 110: A Weekend Alone?

In class on Friday, Zhang Shaoqing was discussing his weekend plans with Wang Jie. “Tonight, the two of us are going to karaoke, then I’m heading back home for a bit to visit my grandparents. I won’t be back until Sunday night.”

“Alright, I’ve got something to do this weekend as well.”

Ning Chu looked over at Wang Jie, somewhat disinterested.

What could this shut-in possibly have to do, apart from tagging along with Zhang Shaoqing to random places?

“The girl I like… it’s her birthday. I want to go see her,” Wang Jie said with a shy smile, “I was hoping you all could help me pick out a gift.”

Wen Yang immediately perked up. Ning Chu, feeling quite bored, slumped down onto the desk.

“Hey, is she a crush, or are you two already dating?” Zhang Shaoqing leaned in with a nosy grin, throwing an arm over Wang Jie’s shoulder. “Tell us!”

“She’s my girlfriend,” Wang Jie replied, his smile turning bashful like a boy in the throes of his first love. “But we’ve only held hands so far.”

Wen Yang looked at him in shock. “Wow, you sly dog! Here we thought you were quiet about it, and you’re the first one of us to get a girlfriend!”

“We got together in high school.”

Zhang Shaoqing thought about it for a moment, then slapped his thigh. “Then get her a phone!”

“…”

Ning Chu suddenly felt that Wang Jie might be in trouble.

The “good guy” type, only held hands, long-distance relationship with his girlfriend… In hentai doujin, this kind of good guy usually doesn’t have a happy ending, right?

But then, since she didn’t write Wang Jie’s character to have any drama, if something does happen, it wouldn’t be her fault.

“What does she look like?” Wen Yang joined in, curious. “You’ve never told us about her before.”

Wang Jie found a photo on his phone and showed it to them.

She was a rather ordinary-looking girl with thick glasses but a sweet smile.

Ning Chu let out a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness, she wasn’t some stunning beauty.

But soon, she lost all interest in Wang Jie’s love life.

Wang Jie would be celebrating his girlfriend’s birthday, Zhang Shaoqing was going home, and Wen Yang was going to be a tutor… And what about her? Would they just leave her alone in the dorm?!

The thought made her uneasy.

“Are you really going to tutor?” she finally asked, unable to hold back.

She lightly poked Wen Yang, who was busy preparing his lesson.

“Yeah. Don’t worry, it’s a boy student, and his dad’s the one who hired me. Four hours of tutoring, I’ll be back by evening.” Wen Yang smiled, holding up his phone. “See, I’m already working on the lesson material. He’s in eighth grade, struggling with math.”

All of Ning Chu’s attempts at a reasonable objection were blocked. She could only mutter under her breath, “Platforms aren’t always reliable.”

“It’s better than having no safeguards at all.”

“I…” she stammered, looking down awkwardly as she fiddled with her nails.

The real issue, though, was that Ning Chu wasn’t worried about Wen Yang’s tutoring arrangements.

In the storyline, there were scenes where a protagonist, while tutoring, ended up giving some “extra” health education to a high school student.

But since Wen Yang’s student was just a boy, there was no chance he could be the one from the plot.

But the main point is—She’s scared to be alone in the dorm!

Without the main character around, who knows what might happen?

Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie wouldn’t be there either, and if something did go wrong, there wouldn’t be anyone around to help.

Although Ning Chu wanted to say she’d go with Wen Yang, not to tutor, just to quietly sit and watch TV or play on her phone at the student’s house… But that would make it seem like she couldn’t be away from Wen Yang, that she was being unreasonable about his job.

A guy’s self-respect would make it hard to say something like that out loud.

“Oh, what a dummy! Ning Chu is just afraid to be in the dorm alone~” Both of them turned to look at Yan Xinya, who was sitting on the other side.

The wolf-girl, shaking her head and wagging her tail, explained, “Think about it—it’s the boys’ dorm! Ning Chu, a girl… isn’t it natural for her to feel a little afraid?”

Wen Yang was a bit taken aback, but Ning Chu quickly shook her head. “No way! Why would I be scared? Am I that kind of person?”

“I’m just worried that Wen Yang’s side gig will end up being a scam! Since he’s got everything prepared, he should go ahead and do it!”

Big-time assist… failed!

Yan Xinya rolled her eyes at Ning Chu, giving her a look of exasperation, while Ning Chu subtly kicked her under the table.

Can you please not stir things up? She’d originally planned to gradually convince Wen Yang, but now, in her panic, she’d closed off the conversation completely.

Wen Yang nodded with a smile, “Exactly, there’s no way she’s that delicate.”

Sure, Ning Chu might have a bit of paranoia when she’s out and about, but in her dorm, where she sleeps and rests every day?

Not a chance.

“Hardcore straight guy…” Yan Xinya muttered quietly, turning her head, “and the queen of denial.”

The bell rang, signaling the end of class.

Resting her chin in her hands, Ning Chu gazed wistfully at the crowd of students bustling toward the door and let out a long sigh.

Well, it’s just the dorm. Being alone in there shouldn’t be a big deal.

Instead of worrying about something happening in her dorm, she should probably be more concerned about some seductive woman luring Wen Yang in on his way to work.

Lately, she’d relaxed her vigilance over Wen Yang.

The two of them had gradually become so used to each other’s constant company that Wen Yang had started avoiding girls on his own.

But the moment she let her guard down, he sprang up with this idea of becoming a tutor.

Ning Chu rubbed her temples in frustration.

Once the classroom had mostly emptied out, she stood up, clutching her textbooks against her chest to cover the slight rise and fall of her breathing.

“I don’t have much choice. I’m actually out of money for food,” Wen Yang explained with a pained smile when he saw the concern on her face. “If I don’t pick up a side gig, I’ll end up starving. I can’t keep sponging off you forever, right?”

Actually, she doesn’t mind at all.

“Mm…” Ning Chu responded, heading for the door first.

Wen Yang noticed she seemed a little annoyed and hurried to catch up, reassuring her, “Look, I promise not to talk to any girls on my way to the tutoring job. I’ll even run if I see one, alright?”

“I’ll head out around noon and should be back by seven in the evening. I could even bring back dinner for you on the way.”

Ning Chu couldn’t help but feel like this guy had already started seeing himself as her boyfriend with how diligently he avoided any other girls.

She gave him a sidelong glance and reminded him about their “arrangement”: “If you meet someone good-hearted that you like, don’t miss out—go after her. Find yourself a good girl.”

But she’d decide who was “good.”

“Sure, sure,” Wen Yang responded nonchalantly.

As they walked back to the dorm, Ning Chu couldn’t hold back any longer. “Are you really going? How about we both work in the cafeteria delivering food? They even provide meals.”

“The tutoring job pays better, plus you delivering food…”

“What’s wrong with me doing it? It’d be good exercise!”

Wen Yang glanced at the weather forecast. “It’s supposed to hit 37 degrees tomorrow and the day after, and besides the new dorm building, none of them have elevators.”

“Forget about it, then.”
