Twisted Fates: A Game of Love and Retribution

Chapter 15: 15. A Man of Many Faces

Atop the 88-story Titans Group building, a massive crystal chandelier cast a warm, amber glow over the 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the night sky with twinkling stars. Kingsly Scott sat alone, slowly savoring a glass of red wine.

Leo Thompson entered, his voice echoing in the vast space. "I never would have thought that the same Mr. Scott, who's been in the limelight with Natalie Lewis, would be here drinking alone."

Kingsly didn't glance at his friend, but his handsome face was calm and composed.

Leo sat down beside Kingsly, pouring himself a glass of wine. "Sorry to intrude on your solitary drinking. I was passing by your building and heard from security that you were here, so I thought I'd check in on you."

Kingsly still said nothing, setting down his glass and walking to the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the city.

From the transparent windows, the city beneath had lost its starlight. The vast night now only held flickering neon lights, with cars appearing as tiny as boxes, leaving light trails like fire arcs.

Looking down from such a height felt like a sovereign gazing down upon the masses.

"Leo," Kingsly called, hands in his pockets.

"Hmm?" Leo swirled his wine, joining him.

"If someone pushed you from such a height, what would you do?"

Leo paused. "Why the sudden question?"

"Would you push them off after rising from the dead?"

Leo was puzzled. "What are you trying to say? That sounds rather chilling."

Kingsly withdrew his gaze from the distant night sky, turning to Leo. "Nothing, just not used to being alone without Luna."

Leo sniffed the aroma of his wine, smirking. "Don't act lonely in front of a bachelor like me. Everyone knows the charming Mr. Scott can charm a lover at home and women outside—something even I envy."

Kingsly chuckled, his gaze returning to the distant horizon.

Leo took a sip of wine and looked at the night sky. "On a serious note... Silverstone Holdings is just an insignificant real estate group in the city. Why did you suddenly go after them?"

Kingsly didn't answer, returning to his seat and sipping his wine.

Leo gave him a sidelong glance. "You're not short on money, so it must be for a woman... I've heard Rachel Foster from Silverstone has approached you several times about her boyfriend, and someone saw you at the Yilin Club chatting with her. Did you fancy her and set this up on purpose?"

Kingsly continued drinking, a faint smile on his lips.

Leo grinned slyly. "I've met Rachel Foster a few times. She's not like those heavily made-up girls; she looks pure and innocent, quite memorable, but her personality is sharp and capable, seemingly brilliant."

Kingsly remained silent, but the light in his eyes grew darker.
