Chapter 18: ch18
"Ding! The host successfully pretended to be powerful, gaining 9,999 force points!"
"Ding! Pretend points have been automatically allocated: Jōnin-level Chakra +3,333, Three Tomoe Sharingan +3,333, B-level Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu +3,333."
"Ding! Jōnin-level Chakra (5,732/10,000). Not yet maxed out, please keep pretending to level up your abilities!"
"Ding! Three Tomoe Sharingan (9,671/10,000). Almost there! Keep pretending to upgrade your abilities!"
"Ding! B-level Fireball Jutsu (3,667/10,000). Experience is still low, continue pretending to gain more power!"
Ethan Uchiha's performance had earned him a huge amount of force points, with the most progress made in his Three Tomoe Sharingan. After this surge of points, the experience bar was almost full, leaving the unlocking of his Mangekyō Sharingan just within reach.
"Let's see how strong you really are," Ethan said with a smirk, taunting the three Jōnin standing before him. He raised his hand and beckoned them to attack, full of confidence.
Was this supposed to be a test for early graduation? Chūnin were taken down in a single move, and now three Jōnin faced off against Ethan, but it almost felt like he was the Jōnin and they were the ones being tested.
In the eyes of the onlookers, it seemed unreal. Ethan's overwhelming presence and confidence distorted their perception, making him seem far more powerful than expected.
"Go!" One of the Jōnin shouted, and the three of them sprang into action, instantly surrounding Ethan in a triangular formation.
"Good strategy," Ethan muttered, scanning his opponents with his Sharingan. "Let's see if you can entertain me."
All three Jōnin performed the same technique simultaneously. "Fire Style: Dragon Fire Technique!" they shouted, completing the seals in a flash and launching straight flames from three different angles, closing in on Ethan.
To the spectators, it seemed like Ethan had nowhere to run. The attack was swift and precise, and resisting it seemed almost impossible.
"Tsunade, it looks like he's going to get humbled," Jiraiya said with a grin, clearly amused.
"I hope you're ready to heal him if something goes wrong," Jiraiya added, casting a glance at Tsunade.
"Don't worry about him," Tsunade replied. "This kid's no joke."
Orochimaru, who had been silently observing, spoke up. "He's too confident to be just bluffing. Let's see what he's hiding, this Ethan Uchiha."
At the edge of the field, members of the Hyuga clan were also watching closely.
"Father, Ethan Uchiha is about to lose," Hiashi Hyuga, now 19, remarked to his father, Bamboo Hyuga, as they watched the battle.
"Not necessarily," his father replied, shaking his head, much to Hiashi's confusion. But he remained silent, waiting to see if his father's words would prove true.
Meanwhile, over in the Uchiha clan's area, Fugaku Uchiha, watching with mounting concern, spoke up. "Father, I..."
"Stay back. Trust him," his father, Hayato Uchiha, cut him off before he could finish.
"But..."
"Believe in him. He can handle this," Isaac Uchiha added, their eyes fixed on the unfolding scene.
Fugaku could only comply, his hopes pinned on Ethan pulling through.
Back on the battlefield, a sudden burst of lightning energy rippled through the air.
Ethan moved.
"Wind-Thunder Body Flicker Technique!" he whispered, as wind-natured Chakra enveloped his body, and the lightning-natured Chakra surged through his cells, making them more resilient and charged with energy. It was as though lightning itself had granted him speed and power.
In a flash, he moved—fast. Using his Three Tomoe Sharingan, he instantly found the safest gap in the three Jōnin's coordinated attack and slipped through it with ease, dodging all three flames in the blink of an eye.
To those watching, it seemed as though a bolt of lightning had struck the field.
In a split second, one of the Jōnin was sent flying through the air.
No, not flying—he had been kicked. Kicked by Ethan with such speed and force that it seemed effortless.
