Chapter 11: 11 None of Your Business!
There were too many woods to carry back in one run, so they had to make multiple runs. Olivia instructed Andrew, "Take some of the woods back first. I'll stay here and guard the wood."
Andrew balked, "It is too dangerous here. I can't leave you alone here. Come with me. It doesn't matter even if they get stolen."
"They are all cut by you with hard work. I can't let them get stolen."
Olivia's words made Andrew feel warm inside. She insisted on seeing those woods.
Andrew had to lift Olivia up onto a tall tree, then stuffed her a bag of raisins and a long bamboo stick for her defense. "Stay here. I'll be right back."
The thin, lightweight, yet incredibly sturdy bamboo stick, when struck by something, could be excruciatingly painful.
"Yes, sir."
Left alone in the tree, Olivia started reading her scroll while eating the raisins.
A cobra extended its hood and was ready to strike at her with its red-tipped tongue.
"Ahh!" Olivia jumped back in fright, her hands gripping the tree trunk, and she ended up falling down!
Bill, who had been hiding nearby, dashed over in a flash and caught Olivia with sure hands!
Relieved to have escaped disaster, Olivia sighed a breath of relief. When she recognized the face of her savior as Bill, she couldn't help but exclaim in shock, "Why you!"
Bill snorted. Olivia thought Bill was such a jerk, but he had just saved her life, so she didn't know to express her thanks and could only poke his chest, "Put me down."
Bill felt the softness of Olivia's body in his arms, along with a pleasant, subtle fragrance. His chest, touched by her, throbbed fiercely.
This was the first time he had ever held a female. It felt so much better than he had anticipated. He was even a little reluctant to let go.
As soon as Olivia hit the ground, she took a couple of quick steps back to put some distance between them.
Bill suddenly pulled her to the side! The cobra had chased her and landed right where Olivia had been standing moments before!
Luckily, she was pulled away by Bill in time, or she would be bitten by it.
The cobra landed and a bit towards Bill without hesitation.
Bill transformed into a wolf in a flash, his sharp claws swiping across the cobra's body, leaving three long, gaping wounds!
The cobra let out a shrill cry. Enraged, it waved its long tail, desperately seeking revenge against Bill.
The battle between the cobra and Bill was fierce.
This was the first time Olivia had ever seen Bill in his beast form. She knew he was a wolf, but she didn't expect his fur to be silver-white, shining like moonlight, and stunningly beautiful.
The cobra was crafty, but Bill's combat strength was superior. In the end, the cobra was destroyed by Bill with a single swipe of his paw.
Olivia was still in her fright. She cautiously approached Bill, "Thank you for saving me."
Bill scoffed, "What's the use of saying 'thank you'?"
"Huh?"
Bill embraced Olivia rudely and whispered near her ears, "Why don't you spread your legs and let me have a go?"
Olivia's face flushed with anger. This guy was a pervert! She clenched her tiny fists and glared at him fiercely, "You bullied me last time, and you saved me this time. We're even!"
Bill shrugged nonchalantly, his tail wagging, "Since we're even, why are you still here? Waiting for me to f**k you?"
"I've never seen anyone as rude as you. Yes, we're even. But I hope you remember this swat, it is a lesson for your slurs." Olivia gave him a good swat with the bamboo stick and ran off.
After she had gone far, Bill slowly lay down on the ground, his claws covered in cobra blood. The cobra venin had already started turning his claws into a mysterious dark purple color.
Bill lowered his emerald eyes and chuckled sarcastically. He never expected that despite his fearsome appearance, he would meet his end at the hands of a cobra! If his rivals found out, they would surely mock him!
He closed his eyes, preparing to face death quietly.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps approached. Bill immediately opened his eyes and saw Olivia, who should have run far away had returned!
A complex and inexplicable emotion surged within him, but his tone remained as unpleasant as ever.
"Why did you come back? Have you changed your mind and decided to spread your legs for me?" Bill sneered.
Ignoring the annoying guy, Olivia picked up the fallen scroll. She had dropped it in her haste earlier.
She carefully stored the scroll and was about to leave when she noticed that Bill seemed to almost lose consciousness.
After hesitating for a moment, she finally approached him, "What's wrong with you?"
Bill glanced at her, "Don't you know I hate females the most! Keep your distance."
Olivia indeed wanted to shut his annoying mouth with a handful of dry grass. If it weren't for him saving her earlier, she might have actually done it.
Although Bill tried to hide his claws, Olivia's sharp eyes caught the anomaly. "Are you poisoned?"
"None of your business!" Bill turned his face away and hid his claws.
Olivia wanted to take a closer look at his claws but was pushed away by Bill.
"Go away!"
Olivia glared at him and then ran off with the scroll.
Seeing her leave decisively without looking back, Bill suddenly felt a surge of immense disappointment. "See, all females were heartless and cold-blooded. Even if he sacrificed his life for them, they wouldn't be moved at all."
His emerald eyes quickly dimmed, and his silver-white fur seemed to be shrouded in a layer of gloom, losing its luster.
His father died because of a female. Now, he followed the same path.
Although he was a bit unwilling, he made himself that choice.
Bill's head grew heavy, his vision gradually blurred, and his body grew colder.
He knew that he was about to die. Despair gripped his mind.
Olivia ran back with a handful of herbs. By this time, Bill had lost all his consciousness, teetering on the brink of death.
Olivia knelt in front of him, used the knife to make a cut on his claw, releasing the toxic blood.
She then crushed the herbs and evenly applied them to his cut and bandaged his cut.
