Chapter 19: Chapter 19 : Permission!! To take out Sarah .
☞ Late Night Call Between Josh and Sarah
Josh lay sprawled on his bed, a smug grin plastered on his face as he dialed Sarah's number. The anticipation bubbled in his chest; he couldn't wait to convince her. The phone rang a few times before Sarah's calm voice answered.
📱
Sarah: (soft but distant) "Hello, Josh."
Josh: "Sarah! Hey, I've got some exciting news. You're gonna love this."
Sarah: (dry tone) "Somehow, I doubt that."
Josh: (ignoring her tone) "So, my dad's got this genius idea to drag the whole family on a vacation near the old mansion. You know, the one we visited a while back?"
Sarah: (feigning disinterest) "And why are you telling me this?"
Josh: (eager) "Because I want you to come with us! Think about it, a week away from everything. You, me, some quality time together."
Sarah: (hesitant) "Josh, I don't think that's a good idea…"
Josh: (interrupting, dramatic) "Don't say no just yet! Come on, Sarah. You're always saying you need a break. This is your chance!"
Sarah: (pausing) "Josh, you know that's not what I meant."
Inwardly, Sarah was conflicted. She didn't want to appear eager, but the idea of being near the old mansion intrigued her. If Leo could come too, it might even further her plans.
Josh: (pleading) "Please, Sarah. I'm begging you here. Just one trip. What's the worst that could happen?"
Sarah: (mocking) "You want a list?"
Josh: (playfully whining) "Sarah, don't be like that. I'll do whatever you want. I'll carry your bags, I'll get you coffee every morning, heck, I'll even let you pick the hotel room!"
Sarah: (raising an eyebrow) "You're really desperate, aren't you?"
Josh: (grinning shamelessly) "Desperate for you, yes."
Sarah rolled her eyes, but her lips curled into a slight smile. She knew Josh's shameless tactics all too well.
Sarah: (sighing) "I don't know, Josh. I have a lot going on right now…"
Josh: (cutting in) "I already spoke to your dad—well, Leo. He's on board. Said he'd join us."
That caught Sarah's attention. If Leo was coming, it would definitely help her navigate the William family more effectively. She pretended to think it over while inwardly planning her next move.
Sarah: (reluctant tone) "Fine. But only because Leo's coming. And don't expect me to be all...chummy with your family."
Josh: (overjoyed) "Yes! I knew you'd say yes! This is going to be amazing, Sarah. Just wait, I've got everything planned out."
Sarah: (coldly) "Don't get too excited. I'm only going because you wouldn't shut up about it."
Josh: (playful) "Sure, sure. Whatever you say. As long as you're coming, I'm happy."
Sarah: (firm tone) "Josh, one thing. Don't try anything stupid on this trip."
Josh chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head.
Josh: (feigning innocence) "Stupid? Me? Never!"
Sarah: (flatly) "Right. Goodnight, Josh."
Josh: (smiling) "Goodnight, Sarah. Sweet dreams."
After hanging up, Josh leaned back, grinning to himself. "She's going," he muttered, satisfied.

☞: Sarah's Perspective
Sarah put her phone down, her face calm and composed. But inside, her mind was racing.
Sarah's Thoughts: So, a vacation near the old mansion? This could be interesting. If Leo's coming, it might actually work in my favor. And Josh...that fool doesn't even realize he's playing right into my hands.
She walked to the window, staring out into the night. The moonlight reflected in her piercing blue eyes, which shimmered briefly with a red hue as her thoughts darkened.
Sarah's Thoughts: Josh thinks this is about love. How pathetic. All I need is to get into that family, and this trip is the perfect opportunity.
Her lips curled into a small, cold smile.
Sarah's Thoughts: But I have to be careful. Natasha will need to stay close. If Josh's family suspects anything, it could ruin everything. For now, I'll play along. Sweet, mysterious Sarah. Just enough to keep him hooked.
She turned away from the window, her expression composed again. "Leo will handle the rest," she murmured to herself.

☞: Josh's Perspective
Meanwhile, Josh couldn't stop grinning as he lay on his bed, staring at Sarah's photo on his phone.
Josh: (muttering to himself) "This trip is going to be perfect. Just me and Sarah...and maybe some time alone together. She can't resist me forever."
His thoughts wandered to all the ways he could impress her. Fancy dinners, late-night walks, maybe even a surprise gift.
Josh's Thoughts: She's so different from the others. Mysterious, beautiful, but there's something else about her...something that pulls me in.
He frowned slightly, shaking his head. "Nah, it's just her charm. Nothing weird."
But a faint memory nagged at the back of his mind—the bird they had killed at the mansion. He shuddered, brushing the thought aside.
Josh: (to himself) "No way. Vampires aren't real. That's just stuff from movies. But again that day I meet him"
Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Sarah than met the eye.
Josh : Now I have to get Dad permission!! Tsk . Tsk . F**k

☞: Josh and Max's Conversation
Josh walked into the living room where his father, Max, was reading some papers, his face furrowed with concentration. Josh leaned casually against the doorway, grinning.
Josh: "Dad, I've got good news!"
Max didn't even look up from his papers.
Max: (sighing) "This better not be about you trying to get out of work again."
Josh chuckled, walking into the room.
Josh: "Well, it's not about skipping work exactly… It's about Sarah coming with us on the trip to the old mansion."
Max immediately looked up, his expression darkening.
Max: "What? I thought we agreed this would be a family trip, not a date trip for you and that girl. I said This trip because Eithan being lazy but here you are try to pick up girl"
Josh shrugged nonchalantly, already prepared for the inevitable objection.
Josh: "It's just Sarah, Dad. She'll be fine. Besides, I want her to come. It'll be fun."
Max frowned, tossing the papers aside in frustration.
Max: "You're already a lazy one who doesn't want to contribute, and now you're demanding that we bring someone else along. What's next, Josh? Are you going to invite the whole neighborhood?"
Josh crossed his arms, but his grin remained.
Josh: "Come on, Dad. It's not like I'm asking for the whole neighborhood. Just Sarah. She's been through a lot, and having her there could actually be good. You know, help out a little. Maybe even keep Leo company."
Max looked skeptical.
Max: "Leo? That's your solution? Let's not pretend you care about that. You're just trying to get closer to Sarah, as usual."
Josh rolled his eyes, but the smile didn't fade from his face.
Josh: "Alright, alright. But seriously, she's coming. I don't see the issue."
Max started to respond, but before he could, Alia walked into the room, sensing the tension between her husband and son. She glanced at both of them, raising an eyebrow.
Alia: (calmly) "What's going on here? You two look like you're about to start a war."
Josh immediately seized the opportunity, hoping his mother would back him up.
Josh: "Dad's being stubborn, Mom. I told him Sarah's coming with us, and he's not having it."
Alia sighed, giving Max a knowing look.
Alia: (to Max) "Well, Leo's going too, right? And it's just Sarah. She can help her dad while they're there. What's the problem?"
Max opened his mouth to argue, but he caught the look in his wife's eyes. He'd been married to Alia long enough to know when it wasn't worth fighting.
Max: (grumbling) "I still don't like it, but fine. Sarah can come. But this better not turn into another one of your distractions, Josh."
Josh, barely containing his satisfaction, nodded enthusiastically.
Josh: "Yes! I told you, Dad, it'll be fine. It's not like I'm asking for anything unreasonable."
Alia gave Max a small smile.
Alia: (softly) "It's just a trip. Let it go."
Max muttered under his breath, but it was clear he wasn't going to argue further. He stood up, grabbing his coat.
Max: (sighing) "Fine. But if anything goes wrong, Josh, you'll be the one to explain it to me."
Josh laughed, crossing his arms confidently.
Josh: "You've got nothing to worry about. Sarah's coming with us, and everything will go smoothly."
Max shook his head, walking towards the door.
Max: "We'll see. But don't expect me to make this a regular thing."
Josh watched him leave with a victorious grin.
Josh: (muttering to himself) "Victory's mine."

☞: Alia's Quiet Approval
As the door closed behind Max, Alia turned to Josh, her eyes softening.
Alia: (gently) "You got what you wanted, didn't you?"
Josh smiled broadly, proud of himself.
Josh: "Of course, Mom. It wasn't hard. I'm not a kid anymore, you know?"
Alia chuckled softly.
Alia: "I know, sweetheart. But just be careful, alright? Sarah's different, and I'm not sure what you are after."
Josh frowned slightly, but his confidence didn't waver.
Josh: "Don't worry, Mom. I know what I'm doing."
Alia studied him for a moment before nodding slowly.
Alia: "Alright, if you say so. Just don't let things get out of hand. You know how your father is about these kinds of situations."
Josh leaned in, giving his mother a playful wink.
Josh: "Yeah, yeah. I'll handle it. Everything's going to be great."
Alia smiled, though there was a hint of concern in her eyes as she looked at him.
Alia: "I hope so, Josh. I really do."
With that, she turned and left the room, leaving Josh to bask in his small victory.
