Wanda Maximoff Multiversal Harem Hunter

Chapter 23: Liberation Of The Government District Pt. 1

The tension in the air was electric as Wanda Maximoff stood atop a ramshackle jeep, the Chitauri Scepter glowing faintly in her hand. The vehicle rumbled forward, its engine growling in protest under the weight of the barrels of gasoline strapped to its frame. Beside her, Eska Vryn adjusted the straps on her looted Hydra battle armor, her rifle slung across her back. The makeshift convoy was a testament to Sokovian ingenuity—or desperation, depending on how one looked at it.

"This plan is insane," Eska muttered, her voice crackling through the commlink in her helmet. "Seriously, who thought this up?"

"That would be you," Wanda replied, the smirk audible in her voice. Her symbiote suit shimmered, its crimson veins pulsing faintly in the dim light. "And I must say, I'm impressed."

Eska groaned. "Great. Remind me never to brainstorm with you again."

The jeep rattled over the war-torn road, its tires crunching against debris. Ahead of them loomed Hydra's massive barricade—a fortress of steel, barbed wire, and mounted turrets, blocking the path to the Government District. The faint hum of automated defenses underscored the distant bark of Hydra officers giving orders.

"Let me guess," Eska said, glancing at Wanda. "You're loving this."

Wanda twirled the scepter in her hand, its golden tip sparking as her chaos magic coiled around it. "Oh, absolutely. Nothing gets the blood pumping like a good old-fashioned death trap."

"Glad one of us is having fun," Eska deadpanned.

Hydra soldiers scrambled to reinforce their positions as the jeep approached, their shouts rising in alarm. A turret swiveled toward them, its barrel glowing as it powered up.

"Turret on the left," Eska called out, raising her rifle. "Care to handle that?"

"With pleasure," Wanda replied, raising the scepter. A beam of golden energy erupted from its tip, slicing through the turret with pinpoint precision. The explosion sent a shower of sparks cascading onto the Hydra soldiers below, sending them scattering.

Eska smirked beneath her helmet. "Not bad."

"I do try," Wanda replied, her voice light.

The jeep barreled closer to the barricade, bullets ricocheting off its reinforced sides. Wanda stood tall, her symbiote tendrils writhing protectively around her. Eska crouched lower, firing controlled bursts at the soldiers taking aim at them.

"Brace yourself," Wanda said as the barricade loomed larger. Her smirk widened. "Time to fly."

They leapt from the jeep in unison, the world slowing for a heartbeat as they soared through the air. The vehicle slammed into the barricade, the barrels of gasoline igniting on impact. The resulting explosion tore through the structure, sending flames and debris shooting skyward. Wanda and Eska landed hard, rolling to absorb the impact as the wall of fire erupted behind them.

Wanda stood, dusting herself off as the heat of the explosion rippled through the air. "Boom," she said, glancing at Eska with a sly grin. "That's how you make an entrance."

Eska groaned as she got to her feet, brushing soot from her armor. "You're unbelievable."

"I try," Wanda replied, her symbiote suit shimmering as it adjusted to her movements. "Now, let's get to work."

As the smoke from the explosion began to clear, Hydra soldiers scrambled to regroup. Their shouts mingled with the distant rumble of reinforcements arriving from deeper within the district. Wanda raised the scepter, her crimson eyes narrowing as she surveyed the chaos.

"Here they come," Eska said, gripping her rifle. "Think you can keep up?"

Wanda stepped forward, her symbiote tendrils unfurling like living shadows. "I was about to ask you the same thing."

Hydra reinforcements surged forward, their boots pounding against the pavement. Wanda met them head-on, chaos magic erupting from her hands. A wave of crimson energy tore through the front line, sending soldiers flying. Eska moved with precision, her shots picking off enemies with deadly efficiency.

A drone buzzed overhead, its targeting systems locking onto Wanda. She raised the scepter, releasing a burst of golden light that obliterated the machine in midair.

"Nice shot," Eska called out, not missing a beat as she took out two soldiers with a quick burst of fire.

"Thank you," Wanda replied, deflecting a hail of bullets with a shimmering barrier. "Though I'm starting to think they're not even trying."

The symbiote stirred in Wanda's mind, her voice low and eager. **"Let me help. They're nothing but fodder."**

"Patience," Wanda muttered, stepping aside to avoid a grenade blast. "You'll get your turn."

**"I'm starving, Wanda,"** Fracture purred. **"Let me eat."**

A Hydra soldier charged at her, his rifle raised. Wanda smirked. "Dinner's served."

Fracture's tendrils lashed out, snatching the soldier off his feet. The symbiote's maw opened wide, devouring him in one swift motion. Wanda sighed, her expression unimpressed.

"Really?" she said, glancing at the symbiote. "You couldn't just toss him?"

**"Efficiency is key,"** Fracture replied, her tone smug. **"You should thank me."**

"Thanks, oh great garbage disposal," Wanda quipped, blasting another group of soldiers with chaos energy.

Eska's voice crackled through the commlink. "Maximoff, less flirting with your symbiote, more fighting."

"Jealous?" Wanda asked, her grin audible.

"Not even remotely," Eska replied, taking down a drone with a well-placed shot.

The battle raged on as the resistance forces poured through the breach, their determination cutting through Hydra's faltering defenses. Wanda and Eska led the charge, their movements synchronized as they carved a path through the chaos.

A Hydra officer barked orders from atop a nearby platform, his voice desperate. Wanda raised the scepter, its glow intensifying as she took aim. A single beam of energy arced through the air, striking the platform and sending the officer tumbling to the ground.

"Bullseye," Wanda said, her voice laced with satisfaction.

Eska rolled her eyes. "Don't let it go to your head."

"Too late," Wanda replied, turning her attention to the next wave of attackers.

As Hydra deployed heavier reinforcements, the fight became more brutal. Armored vehicles rolled into the fray, their turrets spewing relentless streams of fire. Wanda darted between the wreckage, her symbiote-enhanced agility allowing her to outmaneuver the enemy.

Leaping onto the roof of an approaching vehicle, Wanda drove the scepter into its engine. The resulting explosion sent the vehicle careening into a nearby building, the flames lighting up the battlefield.

**"Still having fun?"** Fracture teased.

"Oh, absolutely," Wanda replied, jumping clear of the wreckage. "Remind me to write Hydra a thank-you note for all the entertainment."

Eska groaned as she ducked behind cover. "I can't decide if you're insane or just having too much fun."

"Why not both?" Wanda replied, her grin widening.

With the barricade breached and the resistance firmly in control of the area, Hydra's forces began to falter. Wanda and Eska pressed forward, securing key points within the district.

As the last of Hydra's reinforcements fell, Wanda lowered the scepter, her breathing heavy but steady. The battlefield was quiet now, the only sounds the crackle of flames and the distant cheers of the resistance fighters.

Eska approached, her helmet under one arm. "That was…intense."

Wanda glanced at her, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Admit it. You had fun."

Eska shook her head, but a faint smile broke through her usual stoic expression. "Maybe a little."

The two women stood side by side, their gazes fixed on the path ahead. The heart of the Government District loomed before them, its remaining defenses waiting to be dismantled.

"Ready for round two?" Wanda asked, twirling the scepter.

Eska nodded, her expression resolute. "Let's finish this."
