Wanda Maximoff Multiversal Harem Hunter

Chapter 27: The Fall Of The Citadel Pt. 2

The echo of their footsteps seemed to stretch endlessly through the steel corridors of Hydra's bunker. Wanda Maximoff and Eska Vryn moved cautiously, their breaths steady but sharp as the oppressive hum of frequency modulators continued to disrupt Wanda's magic. The entryway ahead was lined with more of the glowing devices, pulsing rhythmically like mechanical heartbeats.

"This isn't just a bunker," Eska muttered, scanning the area as her rifle remained trained on the shadows. "It's a damn maze."

"Hydra's version of fun," Wanda replied, her grip tightening on the Chitauri Scepter. "No wonder these guys are miserable—they don't even know how to decorate."

"Miserable and tasteless," Fracture hissed in Wanda's mind. "But efficient in their little tricks. These devices are an annoyance."

"Annoyance is putting it mildly," Wanda muttered, her frustration growing as another attempt to summon her chaos magic fizzled out. She glanced at Eska. "You think you can hit those modulators before I lose my patience?"

Eska smirked, raising her rifle. "Relax, Maximoff. I've got this."

The first modulator went down with a sharp burst of gunfire, the oppressive hum lessening slightly as Eska's shot hit its mark. Wanda exhaled, the faintest hint of relief breaking through the tension.

"One down," Eska said, reloading her rifle. "Only a dozen more to go."

"Great," Wanda replied dryly, spinning the scepter in her hand as the sound of approaching footsteps echoed down the corridor. "Because this wasn't hard enough already."

Hydra soldiers emerged from the shadows, their glowing eyes marking them as more of the mind-controlled experiments they had faced earlier. Their movements were precise and mechanical, their attacks synchronized like pieces of a deadly machine.

"Here we go again," Eska muttered, firing off a burst of shots. "Keep them busy while I take out the rest of these modulators."

"Busy is my specialty," Wanda replied, stepping forward as the soldiers charged. Her symbiote tendrils rippled around her, giving her an almost predatory grace as she met the first attacker head-on.

The fight was brutal and relentless. Wanda moved with calculated ferocity, her strikes blending the precision of the scepter with the raw power of her symbiote-enhanced body. She drove the blunt end of the scepter into a soldier's chest, sending him crashing into a console. Another lunged at her with a blade, but she sidestepped, using the scepter's tip to disarm him before delivering a swift kick that sent him sprawling.

"Not bad for someone who can't use her magic," Eska called out, her voice tinged with amusement as she destroyed another modulator with a well-placed shot.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence," Wanda replied, deflecting another attack. "Remind me to add that to my resume."

The frequency modulators continued to pulse, their disruptive hum making every movement feel heavier. Eska worked quickly, taking down the devices one by one while keeping an eye on the soldiers advancing toward Wanda.

More Hydra soldiers flooded into the corridor, their ranks bolstered by heavily armored operatives wielding advanced weaponry. One of them activated a drone turret, the machine's twin barrels swiveling toward Wanda and Eska with a menacing whir.

"Oh, look," Wanda said, dodging a spray of bullets as the turret opened fire. "They brought a toy."

"Take it out, Maximoff," Eska called, covering her with suppressive fire. "I'm a little busy here."

Wanda darted forward, using her symbiote-enhanced agility to close the distance. She leapt onto the turret, her claws digging into its metal casing as she drove the scepter into its mechanisms. Sparks flew as the turret sputtered and died, the barrels going limp.

"Toy's broken," Wanda said, jumping back down. "Do I get a sticker?"

Eska laughed despite herself, taking out another modulator with a grenade. "Sure. A gold star for effort."

The tide of the battle began to shift as Eska destroyed more of the modulators. With each one downed, the oppressive hum in Wanda's mind lessened, her focus sharpening. She felt the familiar spark of chaos magic begin to return, its energy coiling around her fingertips like an old friend.

"Finally," Wanda said, releasing a pulse of crimson energy that sent a group of soldiers flying. "Now we're talking."

Eska smirked, her shots precise as she took down another soldier. "Took you long enough."

"Blame Hydra," Wanda replied, hurling another wave of magic toward the advancing soldiers. The blast tore through their ranks, leaving only a handful standing.

The remaining soldiers were different—stronger, faster, their movements more erratic. Wanda's eyes narrowed as she noticed the faint glow of additional devices embedded in their armor.

"Great," she muttered. "Upgraded models."

The stronger soldiers charged, their attacks coordinated and brutal. Wanda deflected one with the scepter, spinning it like a staff to block another blow. Her strikes became heavier, more deliberate, as she adjusted to their increased speed.

Eska took down one of the soldiers with a burst of gunfire, but another managed to grab her by the arm. She twisted free, slamming the butt of her rifle into his helmet.

"These guys don't quit," Eska said, her voice tight. "What's Hydra feeding them?"

"Probably not enough," Wanda replied, slamming the scepter into the ground to create a shockwave. "They seem a little hangry."

The battle reached its peak as the last modulator fell, Eska's final shot shattering it in a burst of sparks. Wanda felt the oppressive hum vanish entirely, the clarity of her magic rushing back like a breath of fresh air.

"Nice shooting," Wanda said, unleashing a torrent of chaos magic that obliterated the remaining soldiers. "Now let's finish this."

Together, Wanda and Eska pushed forward, their teamwork seamless as they cleared the entryway of the Citadel. Explosions punctuated their progress, the sound reverberating through the steel corridors.

"You know," Eska said, tossing a grenade into a group of soldiers. "For all their tech, Hydra still hasn't figured out how to beat explosions."

Wanda smirked, sending another wave of magic down the corridor. "Some lessons take time."

At last, the corridor opened into a massive atrium, its walls lined with glowing consoles and strange machinery. Wanda and Eska paused, their breaths heavy but steady as they surveyed the area.

"This is just the beginning," Eska said, her voice low. "We've barely scratched the surface."

"Good," Wanda replied, her crimson eyes glinting with determination. "Because I'm just getting started."

Fracture's voice purred in her mind, her tone almost reverent. **"This place will test you, Wanda. But you'll emerge stronger. And when you do, Hydra will regret ever facing you."**

Wanda nodded, her grip on the scepter tightening. "Let's keep going."

With the entryway cleared and the first floor looming ahead, Wanda and Eska pressed deeper into the Citadel, ready to face whatever horrors awaited.
