Warlock of Oceans: My Poseidon System

Chapter 140: Aether Potion

"Claim reward…" I muttered upon seeing Seber leave the house, closing the door behind her gently. The inaudible chatter of the television and its dim light illuminated the dark living room around me. It was the perfect setting for some meditation… but of course, I had to figure out just what this god had granted me in exchange for risking my life. "It's probably some… useless… item…"

My eyes widened at the sight of the thick glass vial appearing in my lap. The golden liquid, gently cradled by the clear container, shimmered a familiar aura. It was aether. No, it was more specifically an Aether Potion.

Just like how there are potions that replenish health, stamina, and mana, there is bound to be a potion that replenishes aether up in the heavens, right? And here, I got a good look at what this item could potentially look like.

"But, I don't have an aether bar or gauge, meaning you gave me this for one thing… to work on my aether core."

It was strange. Somehow I had an aether core instead of a mana core, yet I was still able to use and manipulate mana. I was so caught up in everything previously that I never really got to think it over, nor did I even get to investigate it… okay, maybe I had some time, but at those points, I was either too exhausted to do anything else or… ummm… I was just too lazy, procrastinating and pushing it back to the next day.

Slowly, the potion slid down my throat. The feeling was like that of slime, an absolutely disgusting texture since I had to swallow practically a glass worth of this stuff. But after a few long gulps with me suppressing the urge to throw up its almost tangy aftertaste, I sat cross-legged on the couch. The cushion behind me served as support as my injuries were still prevalent, but it wasn't long before their pain soon faded from my mind.

In… and then out… in… and then out. Through a string of breathing techniques, I immediately entered a meditative state, allowing me to sense the aetheric potion practically beginning to bubble within my stomach. It groaned and churned like that of a butter factory, and then, in a split second, it dispersed throughout my entire body.

It was hot. It was burning hot. So, quickly I had to control it to its full extent and then have it flood through my mana veins, a painful process that I was able to suck up and avoid screaming out in pain. Sure, it hurt… but the result of this would be worth it in the end.

FWOOSH… FWOOSH… FWOOSH…

A whirlwind spiraled within my body, its golden glow beginning to grace all of my organs with the radiance and power of aether. Upon coming in contact with them, it didn't taint them but, in fact, did the exact opposite.

[Your organs have been reinforced with the circulation of this mysterious foreign power]

[Your muscles have been reinforced with the circulation of this mysterious foreign power]

[Your bones have been reinforced with the circulation of this mysterious foreign power]

In the darkness of my meditative vision, somehow, I was still able to see my system and its various notifications that told me I was doing it right, so why stop now? I only continued, making sure each and every last drop of this potion was being put to use by not only reinforcing my aether core even further but my entire body at the same time.

[Defense 5 → Defense 15]

[Magic 15 → Magic 20]

"Foooooo…" A slight exhale left my mouth before my tongue came and licked my dry lips. "Not that bad," My lips pursed into a smile while a beautiful golden glow shimmered on the top layer of my skin. It soon dispersed into the air, its reinforcing properties leaving with it.

"So, how was the meditation?"

"It was the same as always… can we eat? I'm starving," I muttered, holding my grumbling stomach and lifting myself off the couch effortlessly. Of course, I had been miraculously healed by this new potion. Continue your adventure with empire

I'm just kidding, the reinforcing properties of the potion were more than enough to fix up any injuries I had, and since they had already been slightly healed by Seber, there wasn't much to fix up but the wound itself. There was no need for it to expend extra energy actually closing it up or disinfecting it, so it worked quickly and efficiently, healing me to the best of its capabilities.

"What'd you get?"

"Just some plain old sashimi, but guess what, this shit is the best on the continent…." Seber smirked proudly while holding out a plate of various slices of fish.

"Says who?"

"Uhhhh… the person I bought it from… but ignore that. We're in a coastal city, like, come on, man. This has got to be the best of the best… okay, maybe not the BEST, but it's definitely going to be good."

I snickered at the woman trying to convince me that this fish was edible, but I truly didn't care. I was so hungry that I would have just straight up eaten the sand off the beach, so I was lucky there was some actual edible food around us.

"Let's eat on the beach…" She smiled, and as I followed her out of our humble abode, we soon came in contact with the beach that had been chilled by the moonlight. The sun had truly left from this world, and we had to wait another twelvish hour to see it again.

Soon, we sat down, digging our toes into the cool sand below. We began to eat in silence, staring up at the stars and keeping a watchful eye on the eerie dungeon water rocking back and forth.

"Hey, is this cove the dungeon… or is it the entire city?"

"It's the entire city and more. This is just a small part of the dungeon, but it's a relatively weak one, so there is no need to worry about any large-scale attacks for now… and if there are, just know the temple will be there to stop them. We're like their protective guardians in exchange for spreading the temple's words.
