What the hell is making games in the Ninja World?

Chapter 40: Chapter 32 : New Game Fruit Ninja!!

At the Uchiha Kai household, the five people involved in the research had gathered together to enjoy a meal, which had been prepared by Uchiha Kai and Minato Namikaze.

After the meal, Uzumaki Kikyō and Uchiha Naori voluntarily took on the task of washing the dishes. The two of them headed into the kitchen together.

In fact, Uzumaki Kushina had wanted to join them, but the kitchen wasn't very large. With two people already in there, it was getting a bit cramped, and if she joined, moving around would become difficult. So in the end, only the two of them went inside.

The atmosphere between the two girls while washing the dishes was quite pleasant. Although Uchiha Naori was a proud Uchiha, she wasn't the type to have a cold expression all the time. She would smile, though it was a rather reserved one.

As for Uzumaki Kikyō, she was the epitome of the Uzumaki clan—warm, outgoing, and proactive in engaging with Uchiha Naori. The interaction between them was lively, and they occasionally broke into happy laughter.

Anyone who didn't know them might think they had been friends for many years.

In fact, when Uzumaki Kikyō first met Uchiha Naori, she had been a bit nervous and wary, especially since Naori was such a stunning beauty who had appeared by Uchiha Kai's side.

It wasn't until she learned that Uchiha Naori had been assigned by the Uchiha clan to protect Kai that Kikyō's attitude toward Naori completely changed.

Outside, Uzumaki Kushina observed this scene with a rather subtle expression. Taking advantage of the two girls being distracted, she quietly sneaked to the balcony.

There, Uchiha Kai and Minato Namikaze were lazily leaning back in their chairs, sipping sake and enjoying the comfort of the evening breeze.

However, the arrival of Kushina broke the relaxed atmosphere between the two men.

When the two men turned around in confusion, Kushina mischievously leaned toward Uchiha Kai and whispered, "Hey, Kai, what do you think of those two? Are you planning to marry both of them?"

It was like a thunderclap—a gossip bomb had been dropped.

Instantly, Uchiha Kai had a helpless expression, while Minato Namikaze understood what his girlfriend was implying and looked at Uchiha Kai with curiosity.

Although most ninja followed a monogamous tradition, the ninja world wasn't exactly a society of strict one-man-one-woman relationships.

In fact, it wasn't unusual for someone to have more than one wife if they wanted to—after all, in a world where noble families and strict class systems existed, the idea of "one life, one partner" didn't really hold.

Ninjas rarely practiced polygamy, not because it wasn't accepted, but because they needed to be responsible for their children, which required a significant financial investment.

Additionally, since ninjas were also major spenders on equipment, which they often had to purchase themselves, the resources needed to raise multiple families made polygamy a rare choice.

But just because it's rare doesn't mean it's impossible. If Uchiha Kai were to marry both Uchiha Naori and Uzumaki Kikyo, as friends, Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki would only offer their blessings.

At most, Kushina, as Kikyo's family, might express some dissatisfaction, but that would be all.

Glancing towards the kitchen, Uchiha Kai shook his sake cup filled with sake and said, "I've always been quite laid-back about these matters. In fact, you both grew up with me. When have you ever seen me actively pursue a girl?"

Upon hearing this, the two of them thought for a moment and realized that Uchiha Kai was indeed like that.

Even though Kikyo clearly liked him now, it was Kikyo who took the initiative. Uchiha Kai had never actively pursued her.

Uchiha Kai looked at the night sky of Konoha. "When it comes to relationships, I've always had a rather Buddhist mindset. I believe in letting things happen naturally. Kikyo's feelings for me right now are probably just because of the childhood hero rescue and the bridge effect. Whether we end up together in the future, we'll see."

"As for Naori-san, my clan hopes I'll marry her and produce excellent descendants, but still, I've got the same mindset. I won't put too much thought into such matters."

"Compared to all this romance stuff, right now, what concerns me more is the promotion and release of the Genjutsu game."

Such words, filled with ambition, left Minato and Kushina silent.

They hesitated to speak, clearly wanting to make some remarks.

Uchiha Kai, however, knew exactly what they wanted to say—before his system awakened, Kai had always been the type to barely scrape by in Konoha's Police Force with a laid-back, slacker attitude.

To suddenly become someone with a strong career mindset was honestly something they didn't know how to respond to.

Of course, they could understand it, after all, the old Uchiha Kai hadn't developed the Genjutsu game yet, nor had he fully unleashed his remarkable talent for creating secret techniques.

Now, with the opportunity and the right conditions, the three days spent on the Genjutsu game's adaptation had fully revealed Uchiha Kai's terrifying abilities.

This left Minato, the person who knew Kai the best, doubting whether Kai had been hiding his true abilities all along—seemingly slacking on the surface, but in reality, working tirelessly like a genius.

Even when hiding his abilities, Uchiha Kai had shown his incredible talent in developing the Rasengan.

At this point, Uchiha Kai probably felt there was no longer any need to hide his abilities. With his achievements and the support of the Uchiha clan, he was now freely showcasing his talents.

As a close friend, Minato Namikaze was genuinely pleased about this, because he had always believed that Uchiha Kai was an exceptionally talented genius.

However, in a world like Konoha, where ninja skills were the core focus, his talents had been overlooked.

So, Minato followed along with Kai's words and asked him about the release of the Genjutsu game, expressing his concerns.

"Kai, although you've solved the issue of transferring the Genjutsu game onto the sealing scrolls, sealing scrolls are still quite expensive."

"I understand that you want the common folk of Konoha to be able to play the Genjutsu game, but if the costs can't be reduced, it will be very hard to achieve."

Uchiha Kai nodded. "Don't worry! I've prepared for this, and I have a complete plan."

"Indeed, the current costs are too high. A single scroll can only store one game and can only be used once. But these are all just technical issues. Once we have enough funds, we can invest in the necessary technological development, and these issues will eventually be solved."

"Rather than focusing on the problems we'll need to solve in the future, Minato, what we need to do now is to spread the word about 'Genjutsu Games,' and then gather enough funds to support further research and development."

"At the very least, we need to make sure the major ninja clans understand the concept. That way, we can open up the market. We'll also need the major clans to join us so we can grow and strengthen this brand-new venture."

"So, Mr. Minato Namikaze, the lifelong spokesperson of the Genjutsu Game Guild, are you ready to promote the game?"

Minato scratched his head in frustration. "I really don't understand these business matters. So, Kai, you want me to play the Genjutsu game in front of everyone, right?"

"And then, you'll use some special method to let others watch me play, right?"

Uchiha Kai nodded. "Yes, I plan to use the projection function that was accidentally developed during yesterday's work on the transfer technique to live stream the game. It may not have the same effect as directly observing the Genjutsu game, but our main goal is to get as many people as possible to see it."

"So, a live broadcast is a pretty good choice."

As we all know, the development of new technologies often results in unexpected but useful research outcomes. This is true for technological advancements on Earth, and it's no different in the ninja world with the development of 'secret techniques.'

Yesterday, Uchiha Kai and his team came up with an impressive projection technology.

This technology allows the content of a genjutsu game, played through sealing scrolls, to be projected directly. This way, even those who aren't part of the game can see it, making it a classic example of live streaming.

After listening to Uchiha Kai's explanation, Minato Namikaze nodded. "Live streaming, huh? That's actually a pretty fitting way to put it. So, do you want me to live stream Return Home?"

Uchiha Kai shook his head. "No, what I want you to live stream is another new game."

Minato was surprised. "Ah? A new game? Kai, when did you make a new game?"

Uchiha Kai replied, "Just yesterday. Over the past few days, when I've been at home, I've been developing a new genjutsu game. I finished it last night."

Minato smiled and said, "As expected of you. Developing new secret techniques during the day, and then going home to develop new games at night. You really have a lot of energy."

After a moment of admiration, he asked again, "So, what's the new game? Is it something like Return Home?"

Uchiha Kai smiled. "No, it's something different. It's much simpler, with no puzzle elements. Instead, it's straightforward and intense. It's called Fruit Ninja."

Of course, this is the ninja world's exclusive version with super difficult hell mode and the darkest settings.
