Young Justice: The Werewolf

Chapter 5: Alaskan Wilderness Part 2

*Muzuka POV*

*Location: Alaskan Wilderness*

*Date: August 1st, 2009*

Delivering a massive flow to the still transforming faker, he was pushed back a few steps but not staggered. Eventually, his body stopped convulsing, as he was now two times my height and his muscles were far bigger than before. He had increased his body's physical abilities, but who knows what other surprises he had in store.

Although his face became more wolf-like and his fangs had increased in length/width becoming sharper than before. That and I could tell when he opened his eyes, which had become crimson and more animalistic. I could see the faint glint of intelligence in the back of them though, but not enough to see the person there before.

"Well I thought your little group was insulting me before, but now well I can say this."

I then punched my own open palm, catching it before continuing to speak.

"Well, I'm glad you're a bit more sturdy than before."

They then let out a loud howl, before charging forward with their arms overhead, ready to slam down on me. I stepped to the side as they slammed down creating a large thud, spreading snow everywhere covering my eyes. I instinctually lept back, getting the snow quickly off my eyes just as the mutated beast rang right into me, grabbing hold of me. They quickly lifted me overhead and tossed me to the ground with all their strength.

I coughed up a bit as I gripped my side, and I kicked the back of his right hind leg using the vast majority of my strength. He let out a pain-filled roar as he stumbled to the ground but quickly recovered, lifting their left arm to try and swipe my head off. I quickly rolled out of the way, and punched the back of his right elbow, breaking his arm.

I immediately broke it as it bent in the wrong direction, and blood splattered over my fist with a little on my face. Yet the mutated beast ignored the pain as he cracked it into place forcefully, and he started to regenerate slowly. The process however wasn't perfect as the bit of that was broken, was shattered off bt ingrown into the newly formed skin.

It probably meant that the bone I broke was brand new, however, it didn't get rid of the part I broke and instead simply separated it. Allowing the regrowth of new bone somehow but again it wasn't perfect and it was still part of them. They quickly swung their newly regenerated arm almost like a whip down on me, with the sharp end of the bone pointing downward.

I lept into the air to avoid it and landed on him, more specifically his back, and began to rip into him as I got an idea. While his flesh regenerated I put the parts I tore away on, making the new bits grow around it and combine with it.

He began to claw at me, but well the newly increased size didn't do the group's mutated leader any favors. Their right arm actually almost got me a few times, apparently the imperfect regeneration process wasn't perfect as it added flesh to it by accident.

It then apparently had a flash of intelligence as it tumbled backward, ready to slam its whole body down on me. I grabbed tightly onto its shoulders and backflipped over its head as it fell. I then went towards the leg I had broken, which had uh healed albeit imperfectly. I then grabbed the first joint, the one it had when it was fully human, and ripped the entire leg off using all my strength to do so.

I didn't get any bone to at least a sharp bit of it, but it was good enough and as the leg started to regrow I jammed it at the side of the regrowing flesh. While the rest of the leg eventually returned, it was not a mesh of old/new giving it some trouble getting up.

Taking a few steps back, I looked at the beast that was now a lumbering mess, its entire body beyond repair as whatever the guy injected himself with was clearly imperfect. In fact, if it didn't last forever, I just knew that this guy was either going to die or scream in pain before passing out.

I could already see the beast breathing in and out slowly, barely moving forward to try and strike me down. It slowly lifted its arm upward but I had plenty of time to dodge as I slowly stepped to the side as it came down. There wasn't that same strength as before, in fact beyond its tiredness I could tell it was getting worn, weakening.

Meaning that whatever serum was coursing through the guy's veins was starting to wear off. Their body started to shrink down, his muscles started to rot away literally in some places, especially at the places I reattached. He fell to the ground as his entire leg eventually fell off and his arm started to slosh off as well.

His eyes turned back to a bright blue eventually as blood started seeping out of them, and while he did regain the intelligence/ability to talk just barely though. When he started to talk, they had this painful tint to it, like he was holding himself back from speaking.

"Looks like *Heavy Breathing* the serum had a few bugs in it, imperfect regenerative ability, and just a slight but not noticeable increase in durability."

"I guess The Board will be disappointed in this failure, oh well that's what they get for getting their genes from second-gen wolves."

"Especially with that diluted serum of theirs they injected me and my team with."

"Though I suppose one of us will survive this encounter."

Behind us, the runt was crawling away, probably trying to do their best to hide from me and I just sighed as I approached the slumped-over man.

"So I'll be going out the quick way huh, huh *heavy breaths* guess it's been a good run."

I then grabbed both sides of his head and proceeded to quickly crush before he could try to sneak attack me.

I then let go of his corpse and wiped the blood off, and started walking over to the runt ready to get a free ride to the nearest town."

*??? POV*

*Location: Gotham, Neo Inc Tower Headquarters*

*Date: August 1st, 2009*

Looking over the city, the lights glistened as the smog from the nearby factories nearly covered the night sky. Truly a glorious sight as I grabbed my nice little glass of 200-year-old wine that had just been freshly poured in. Taking a full sip of it, I walked over to the right side of my house which housed a plethora of artifacts, each one depicting a werewolf of some kind.

Truly a wonderful sight as I remembered the one we currently had in our Alaskan facility, alongside the dozen or so still alive underground. Although they were a little weaker than the original, they still provided a plethora of data that helped us tremendously.

It had also provided me with hope, hope for my son whose cancer cells were slowly but surely being destroyed, replaced by healthy ones. Putting down my glass, I just admired the artwork before approaching my large coffee table. It had a series of reports I had yet to read alongside something I wanted for myself.

I had originally started Project Transfusion to provide some small semblance of hope for a cure for my son. It had tremendous results and possibilities, which had garnered a few select members of The Board's attention. They were highly interested in the mutation process and the power that could be granted to a few select members of humanity.

Something I also wanted, something that could be offered by the syringe placed next to the stack of papers. My top scientist assured me this serum was nearly perfect, and far beyond what was currently being offered. I eyed it and was about to pick it up but not before my phone started to ring, my "special" one.

Looking around I made sure no one was at the door listening alongside other places before answering. On the other side was Subject M's top security officer, the one in charge of guarding it.

"Declan has there been a security breach or are you just calling to say hi to an old friend."

*mumbles on the other side of the line*

Hearing what he had to say, of Subject M's escape, I clenched my teeth and gripped my phone tightly feeling like I could crush it.

"You called The Pack correct?"

Waiting for an answer I gripped the syringe getting ready to inject myself with it depending on the answer.

*Mumbles on the other side*

"So they failed, and most of them are dead, well keep working with the blood samples you currently have."

"I'll make sure to send some more to you from the second-gen werewolves, alright, goodbye Declan."

Ending the call I made a mental note to myself to sink the whole facility with them inside, hopefully The Board would help with that. Grabbing the syringe I sat in my chair staring into the city streets debating with myself whether I should do it or not. In the end, I quickly jammed it into my neck and injected myself with it, allowing myself to transform.

Allowing myself to become a monster both inside and out.

"Don't worry though Declan we'll have plenty of more samples soon enough, just have to get the runaway."

"You and your team just won't be working on it that's all."

I then trapped hold tightly of the chair arms as the transformation began.
