Young Justice: The Werewolf

Chapter 4: Alaskan Wilderness

*Muzuka POV*

*Location: Alaskan Wilderness*

*Date: August 1st, 2009*

Arriving at the surface, I had to block my eyes from the sunlight shining down on me. Which made sense as I had been asleep far too long and down beneath the earth far too long for my own good so it would take a minute or two to get used to the sunlight. Although I did love the fresh air and the tall pine trees all around me, looking around the only thing nearby was just the snow, as the whole place was just one giant clearing.

Alongside this was the large amount of space between trees not enough to cause suspicion to anyone who might walk through the area or travel through it. Still knowing what was underneath my feat was a huge facility and knowing they transported materials in and out meant they needed the proper space to transport them however they did it.

However, the lack of footprints or whatever vehicle they used to transport materials meant the last dropoff/pickup was some time ago or it snowed recently. Which meant I was lost in the middle of wherever I was. Either that or the next shipment was today.

Couldn't hurt to wait around a little bit, so I made a small hole in the ground and hid the cards I used to get out of the place. Didn't want anyone who came by to find them, might spook them and call for backup. While I didn't think whoever this group was could harm...yet anyway it didn't hurt to be careful.

So I went over to a nearby tree and climbed up it, sinking my claws into it to get a good grip on it, until I found a nice but low branch to sit on. Making sure it could hold off my body weight I got into a comfortable position, making sure I could watch over the clearing.

So I waited there for hours, shuffling through my mind and going through the remnants of my memories. I saw others like me, people born like that naturally and not artificially created like the people who got my blood all mixed in with their own and some other chemicals I didn't know or understand.

We were all of various ages, some of us looked younger or older, but there was one thing I always saw eventually. They would bow to me for some reason as if I was their leader or something like that.

Then I would see a fire and my mind would go blank for some reason, as if my memories were cut out of me. Either that or some form of trauma was affecting me, blocking them out as a defense mechanism.

Something I would need to deal with later, right now I needed to get my bearings, figure out my next move, and gain a greater understanding of this world. From my memories, I could tell that humans weren't this advanced the last time I interacted with them, although even then based on the few concrete memories I had that was rare.

I think there was a good reason for it, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember, another mystery I wanted no needed to solve. To get the full scope of who I was, I need to remember who I was. To remember what I had forgotten, and understand why the people in my mind bowed.

Eventually, I heard the rumbling of wheels going through the forest as a large dark grey metallic vehicle made its way to the entrance of the facility.

"Little late don't ya think?"

I mumbled to myself, a little confused as to why it took them so long to get here. I mean I didn't leave the people tied up or anything, heck I don't think I locked the room I put them all in...or did I honestly couldn't remember which was so far the story of my life.

Stepping out of the large vehicle were six humanoid figures...people who looked like they were mixed with dogs or wolves of some kind. They had hind legs and dark gray fur covering the entirety of their bodies. They smelled wrong though, as if they were trying to intimate a real werewolf.

Although they weren't naked, they wore what looked like heavy black metallic armor with some lighter clothing underneath it. They also wore specialized helmets that had a dark gray visor on them and it looked like they were talking to each other.

A bit too far away for me to hear but not far enough to smell however and well I needed the exercise. I jumped down to the ground as a loud crunch echoed through the forest as I landed on the snow. Immediately they heard that instead of my very much not hidden scent, meaning their nose wasn't as strong as my own.

Which only further proved they were fakes, probably the results of further experimentation on people who had my blood infused into them. Diluted probably or they fused a bunch of other stuff to get this, probably so they go do a mass transfusion on people without killing them or whatever other side effects they could cause.

While I was still transformed I walked in front of them and cracked my neck, feeling a little cramped from all that sitting. All the while two people in the back grabbed two small gray weapons, probably long-range, and more built for deadly force probably tested against the subjects.

Meaning they weren't built for me and while I would try to save the victims even I would admit they were nowhere close to my level. The two who got their weapons out fired immediately and I charged forward with my arms outstretched ready to get the first fist in.

While the metallic projectiles hurt a bit more than the security guard's own weapons, they didn't fare much better. Eventually, they ditched the weapons and they all got their claws out ready for a fistfight. The leader, the largest of them and the one I could at least tolerate a little bit out of all them was the first to charge who soon enough ordered his men as well. Oddly enough he talked like a dog would if they had the capability, alongside a snarl to his voice.

"Men get him, Formation Omega!"

They spread around him ready to circle me in and give me no room to escape. I struck the leader first, going for an upward strike that sent him tumbling to the ground. Two of his subordinates grabbed my arms and used all their strength to hold me tightly. All the while a third one began punching me in the face and the fourth one concentrated on my stomach.

I'll admit however their punches had a bit more zing to them than their bullets did. However, it wouldn't hold me for long as I let out a sonic howl, sending all of them back at once just as their leader got back up, launching their final member who was charging in as well into a nearby tree.

Before they could get back up, I grabbed the nearest one by the leg and lifted them up, slamming him into a second one destroying their more delicate equipment in the process. Keeping hold of him, I grabbed hold of the second one and began spinning them around before launching them at the trees, breaking a few bones I think in the process.

I was pretty sure that took them out of the fight, meaning I only had three more plus their leader to go. I would probably keep on conscious, injured but awake enough to help me drive their vehicle to the nearest town. One of them, a beast with some white streaks in their fur charged at me and jumped.

All the while one of them I think charged behind me, their smell gave it away. So taking the easy approach, I sidestepped and allowed the two to collide into one another rolling backwards a bit. Jumping upwards, I had my arm stretched out with my claws out taking this chance to take out two more fake werewolves.

Piercing their armor, I went through the first one's chest simply enough piercing the second one's throat barely. Killing the first one instantly and leaving the second one to die.

I then walked over to the last of the subordinates, the runt of the pack who was a bit too small and skinny to be a proper fighter. Probably a support of some kind, either that or a medical expert. Grabbing his leg the runt was disoriented/groggy. I broke his left leg making sure he couldn't get up to try and stop me from killing his...or perhaps her leader, honestly, it was a little hard to tell from all the armor/fur covering them.

I could probably tell if they were a real werewolf or at least humanoid but well right now not so much. As their leader got up, I could tell he was pissed off and he grabbed a string of some kind.

"Well looks like you're the real deal Subject M, the scientist at Neo Inc, cooked this up in case I ever ran into trouble."

Before I could do something, he injected himself with it and his body began shaking violently, shifting around. I could tell his muscles were expanding, his fur was whitening, his body was growing bigger. Not wanting him to complete this transformation I charged forward, putting quite a bit more strength into my fist this time, for part two of this little fight.
